I had a lot of stuff to do when I returned home.
Being the Second Hero came with responsibilities I hadn't fully anticipated. Sure, I'd expected some level of increased attention and political complexity, but the sheer volume of administrative work was staggering. On top of that, I was still the Guild Grandmaster sitting atop all guilds across the five continents, which meant every major decision required my input or approval.
The subjugation of two major cults had created a massive backlog of work. Territory redistribution where cult strongholds had been eliminated, resource allocation for rebuilding efforts, political realignments as power vacuums were filled by more legitimate authorities—it all required careful attention to prevent the kind of instability that could spawn new problems.
But administrative duties, while important, weren't my primary focus. I had training goals that couldn't be delayed if I wanted to be ready for whatever came next.
