Chapter 67 - 70 Anything that can go wrong...

Despite the urging of trigger happy Snape, McGonagall didn't immediately act.

Instead she turned to Hermione who was standing with injured Ron and Harry.

"Ms Granger, can you explain what's going on here? And why there's a criminal and a dead man next to your class mate?"

Richard didn't focus on that. He instead focused on Remus. He was looking at Sirius with something that looked like a mix of pity and sadness. The way his face was changing.. Yeah, he must have already had an idea. That means he had the map.

He liked that. That map... Its a good item to collect. Practically a mini map. And it had most of the hidden paths mapped along as well.

Richard made a mental note to nab it later.

Considering that Hogwarts was an important part of the story, having an item like that could give him a good home field advantage-

"Mr Richard!?"

"Yes!" Richard snapped out of his thoughts when McGonagall called out. Her glare was directed directly at him. And he could tell, she was judging him. And it bothered him.

"Is this true?"

"Is what true?"

Her glare made him feel like he was being scrutinized under his mothers eyes. It bothered him, but Richard said,

"If you mean the part about Pettigrew and Sirius, Yeah." He shrugged. "I mean, they are right here aren't they? You can always ask them."

"Incarcerus"

Black ropes tied around unsuspecting Sirius Black, whose wand slipped from his hands as he lost his balance

Richard placed his wand back in his pocked without a care for Snape's glare. Then ignored Sirius who was also glaring at him.

"There you go. I got both of them. You can ask anything you want . And just for the record, I am not taking an ounce of responsibility for any damages that happened here. Be it property, physical or mental."

Richard had only planned till now. And now that he had captured the rat, and handed him over to the proper authorities, he really didn't know what else to do. He expected problems, maybe being forced to kill the rat..but things went pretty smoothly all things considered, barring Ron's maimed foot.

The professors looked lost as well. Snape obviously wanted to get even with Sirius, but he also loathed Pettigrew, who caused his unrequited married woman's death. And Remus, while feeling sorry for Sirius , couldn't help him because he was a professor.

As for McGonagall, well..she was acting in stead of Professor Dumbledor, but she didn't really have the connections or the pull with the ministry like he did. She was a teacher, not a politician or a celebrity. And she definitely wasn't the great white lord who was the bane of all dark wizards.

"I think we should send a message for Hagrid to not to call the dementors. Don't you think so, Professor McGonagall?"

Richard froze. And as if on cue, temperature began to plummet. And an eerie feeling crept up his spine.

It wasn't just him. Harry's eyes widened, he recognized that presence anywhere. Both ton and Hermione's expressions changed drastically as they stopped moving .

'Ah crud..'

He looked at professor Lupin who seemed slightly pale. Paler than usual.

"Ehem.." Richard cleared his throat. " please don't take this the wrong way professors. But can I know if today is a full moon?"

Both Snape and Lupin stood up as if shocked. Then they glanced at one another. The look on Snape's eyes seem to confirm his fears.

Snape immediately rummaged his robes as if looking for something and pulled out a flask.

And Lupin breathed a sigh of relief.

"Thank you Severus."

Snape streached out his hand passing the flash while McGonagall seemed to be be sighing in relief.

For a moment, Richard felt relieved. Maybe things wouldn't be too bad.

He forgot about Murphy.

"It seems that you still don't take care for what your affliction can cause to others do you Lupin?" Snape said smugly. "Still-"

Shatter

Tling tling

The sound of glass pieces hitting the ground was louder than fireworks in that small room. And Snape, who was gloating swallowed hard. The PTSD kicked him hard.

Those who knew what's about to happen had their eyes popping out of their heads, mouths gaped open.

Richard turned his head mechanically around, and he saw Pettigrew, holding a wand, the same wand Sirius had dropped when Richard bound him towards where the flask had been a moment ago.

The man smirked a rat like grin, exposing his massive front teeth like he was some mischievous scamp, and not a middle aged man who just committed manslaughter, and Richard lost it.

"DISMANTLE!!!!"

The entire right side of the shack turned to wood chippings.

And Richard forgot everything.

"Oh..... fric."

"We're all gonna die aren't we?"

"Maybe.."

Richard considered Ron's question for a second.

The sky was black. Not with clouds. Not because it wasn't a full moon. It was.

But by the sheer number of dementors that were circling them. There were thousands. Enough to make frost form on everything. Enough to make it feel like life had no meaning and happiness didnt exist.

Richard turned back abruptly and pointed his wand at Lupin.

"Sorry about this in advance."

Before he could even speak, Richard casted a banishing charm.

Despulso

Lupin was sent flying away.

"RICHARD! YOU ATTACKED A SCHOOL TEACH-"

Richard held up a finger to silence Hermione, who seemed more concerned about protocols than the life or death situation they were facing .

"Give it a second."

Five seconds passes, and everyone knew what happened.

"Awooooooooo..."

"Lupin.."

Oh right, he was there..

Richard removed the restraints on Sirius. There wasn't a point in keeping him restrained now that Pettigrew was gone.

Snape looked livid. But no one else seemed to care.

"You know.." Richard spoke to Snape as he prepared himself to face the horde of dementors who were closing in fast. "I find the fact that you can hold a grudge even right when you are about to die refreshing."

He pulled away Ron's wand and handed it to Sirius.

"You might be a good person probably very very deep down. But everything else about you is just pure nasty."

Richard glimpsed at the sky where the dementors were starting to circle, like a tornado of black clothes. Then looked at professor McGonagall.

"So, are we going to protect Mr Sirius?"

"I can protect myself kid"

"I really don't think he can. Because that's a lot of them." Richard directly ignored Sirius and asked McGonagall who looked undecided.

"We will try-"

That's all he needed.

Richard called for someone. A king needs his bishops to bless the battlefield .

Flash!

With a brilliant burst of light, the fire bird arrived, manifesting from his body. And the ice that built along the wooden floor melted. Just a little.

It brought heat, fire and light and it seemed to piss off the dementors even more. They came down like a funnel cloud.

"Help them"

Seeing the three grown ups cast the patronus, Richard Jumped up to the roof. He saw the cloud of black that refused to come out from the moment they appeared and now...

As three silver silhouettes burst from behind him towards the torrent of black evil that rained on the evil shack, Richard stepped into the darkness even the dementors refused to come close to.

Wooshhh

A dozen balls of fire left his wand, and he saw them. And more importantly him. The veil less dementor. And Richards face twisted to a snarl.

'Round two bitch'
