Monica leaned out of the car window, pulled out her gun, and fired at the cars following them. The lead car was hit and lost control, crashing into several other cars before coming to a halt, slowing down the entire convoy.
"Go to the left, into the desert!"
Monica whispered. If they stayed on the road, this old jeep couldn't compare to the luxury cars chasing them. Only by entering the desert's trails could they have a chance to shake them off.
Xiao Mo quickly turned the car off the main road. There was still some distance to the desert, and under the dim headlights, all they could see were wild grasses and gravel. The car bumped violently, which did create some distance from their pursuers. But the other side seemed very persistent, still chasing relentlessly.
Alita was bumped around so much that she felt dizzy, her insides roiling together. She couldn't help but open the car window and vomit profusely...
