Had she never visited Mandara Manor, Xiao Mo would undoubtedly have been astonished by the opulence here, which, like Mandara, embraced a European style, but lent more towards modernity, comfort, and fashion in its interior design.
By contrast, Hawke Manor favored a more retro vibe, especially the very large fireplace at the center of the living room, coupled with various vintage silverware decorations, which lent the atmosphere a certain gravity and oppressiveness. In her mind, such a place should be inhabited by an aristocratic old lady or earl, clad in the elaborate court attire of the nineteenth century.
