The formation received Lucavion with a low, almost resonant pulse.
Pale light moved through the channels beneath his boots before separating toward the six stone posts surrounding the platform, waking each cloudy crystal in sequence. As the last one brightened, the pressure within the circle settled into something smooth and controlled, enough for Lucavion to feel the mana resting against his skin without interfering with his own.
He looked around once.
"So?"
Elir glanced toward the recording slate beside him. "So we establish your baseline."
"That sounded considerably more important."
"It isn't."
"Professor."
"You wanted less jargon."
Lucavion considered that, then gave him a small nod. "Fair."
Elir touched the first control.
A translucent outline of a human figure appeared over one of the gauges, its right forearm illuminated from wrist to elbow. Beside it, another formation awakened upon the nearest post, forming a thin sleeve of pale mana in the empty air.
