Chapter 6 - Chapter 5: I Also Know a Little Taekwondo

Johan's Point of View

"Are you really sure you want to follow me?" I say calmly, although slightly uncomfortable.

We were on our way to Jaeha Han's crew, but contrary to what I had planned, I wasn't alone.

"You're our new boss, it wouldn't be very cool if you faced a crew without subordinates," explains Seongman Lee.

He's an executive from South Gangbuk.

He looks like a man in his late twenties, but he's actually a teenager.

"That's right, we can help you while Seok Kang protects our base," declares Hakjin Ju with a smirk.

This guy reminds me of a secondary antagonist from a romance story.

Jihyeon Lee hasn't said a word since we left South Gangbuk.

She simply walks behind us in silence.

I think I should have refused Seok Kang's men's request when they offered to accompany me to face East Gangbuk.

I attract too much attention with them.

There's also the fact that their strength is currently pathetic.

I don't think they'll be of much help against Olly Wang in the future.

Now that I think about it, would the "blessing of Apollo" work on Olly Wang's disease?

I should try, even if the idea of being stuck with a man for several days doesn't thrill me.

I know the effects of Apollo's blessing are stronger when holding someone, but doing it for days with a guy... it's too gay!

I'll have to endure sharing an apartment with Olly for a while, but only if we reach an agreement.

For now, I'll be content with being the second person to have provoked an emotion in him.

I should be able to ally easily with him thanks to my blessing.

I might even be able to offer him what Eli Jang couldn't give him... a brother.

"We've finally arrived," says Hakjin Ju, in an annoyed tone.

It seems I'm not the only one who finds this walk mentally tiring.

"Who are you?" asks a teenager noticing our approach.

"We are 'God Dog,' we want to meet your leader," declares Jihyeon Lee in a neutral tone.

She's currently the lowest-ranked among those accompanying me.

So she takes the lead to handle the dirty work.

As for the name God Dog, it will always remain my title, because I am the only true God Dog.

But I can lend it to my crew, right?

"God Dog? You're joking, I hope?" he says, frowning.

Pretending to be a chief or a crew is frowned upon in the Lookism universe.

He must surely be aware of the dissolution of my crew, which explains his doubts.

Yet, it's always reckless to doubt someone claiming a title.

"We don't have time," I say with a sigh before approaching him.

"I want to see your boss." My tone was neutral; I simply looked him straight in the eyes after stating my point.

Of course, I'm passively emitting my intention to fight. I'm not negotiating, I'm imposing my right here.

I am God Dog!!

I'm the one running this fucking district!!

Some random guy isn't going to stand in my way.

"Excuse my rudeness," he says before making a gesture inviting me to follow him.

"No doubt, the new boss is really cool, haha," declares Hakjin Ju, mocking the East Gangbuk member.

"I agree. Usually, the boss gives off a peaceful and pleasant aura, but it can easily become oppressive," responds Seongman Lee, nodding as if he understood something.

"Stop talking, the boss is moving away," informs them Jihyeon Lee, quickening her pace to position herself behind me again.

"Here, boss Jaeha Han is here, but I can't accompany you any further," he says, trembling slightly.

"You can leave, but come back here in a few minutes. Reforms will be implemented," I explained the situation awaiting him before his departure.

*Knock knock*

"Who are you?" asks a person opening the door.

"I'm your new boss. Open this door if you don't want to get hurt," I say calmly.

"Hahaha, you're a comedian..." He didn't have time to say more, I simply blasted the door with a kick.

"What the hell?!" shouts a young man sitting next to a pretty girl.

"I see some people know how to live," I say, ignoring his words.

I approach the one who gives off a pressure similar to Seok Kang's.

Obviously, it's the same one who had just opened his mouth after my entrance.

"You've got guts to invite yourself to my place and ignore me," declares Jaeha Han, lighting a cigarette.

"And you've got a big mouth," I simply reply.

Me and Seok Kang's men are quickly surrounded by Jaeha Han's subordinates.

His crew seems to be the best organized I've seen so far.

It must be said that Hanju doesn't personally manage his territory and Seok Kang is no genius in this matter.

So, he's probably the most competent crew leader in the southern district.

"Uh... boss, we're surrounded," informs me Seongman Lee.

He's surprisingly calm, despite his words.

He seems to have confidence in me or in my strength. It might also be an effect of Apollo's blessing.

"Your buddy understands the situation, but I like your nerve. So I'll take care of you myself." After his typical villain speech, Jaeha Han throws himself at me with force.

It's extremely difficult to leap without having properly pushed off the ground, but he manages it effortlessly.

"You practice taekwondo, huh?" I simply say, stopping his leg in mid-air before throwing him towards his subordinates.

"What kind of guy is this?!" shout several people around.

'What is this strength?' thinks Jaeha Han, quickly getting up.

"I also know a little taekwondo," I say with a slight smile on my lips, taking a taekwondo stance.

If a Lookism fan saw me now, he would surely think of the interrupted confrontation between Vasco and Johan at Club Vivi.

"What are you waiting for? Attack him!" yells Jaeha Han to his subordinates.

He's lost his cool.

His act may seem cowardly, but it's logical in this kind of situation.

He finds himself facing an opponent clearly superior to him, physically and technically.

In this kind of moment, pride becomes an obstacle.

I respect this logical reaction.

I need a subordinate capable of establishing effective strategies, and I know I can't fill this role while being a leader.

After all, I was still an ordinary guy a few weeks ago.

"You came to help me, right? Then survive while I clean up," I give my very first real order to Jihyeon Lee and the others at my side.

It may seem irresponsible, but they must at least survive this to walk alongside me.

"Take this!" shouts a guy with long hair, jumping at me with a kick to the face.

I recognize from his posture that he practices JKD.

I simply step aside before grabbing him in mid-air by the neck and smashing him to the ground.

Of course, I controlled my strength.

He'll be a future teammate, after all.

"Next," I simply say, looking at a young man I would easily give thirty years to judging by his face.

I really wonder if some of these "teens" committed crimes in a past life.

Otherwise, why would nature have given them such faces?

While I'm philosophizing about karma, the teenager attacks me with a punch that I dodge with a simple movement.

I continue to dodge the assaults of his colleagues, until I see an opening.

I grab his wrist before using a simple aikido technique to unbalance him and make him fall.

I notice that Jaeha Han has disappeared from my field of vision.

"I'm here, asshole!" says a voice behind me.

I lean slightly to the side by instinct.

*BAM* Sound of teeth flying.

Jaeha Han missed his shot and hit one of his men.

"Your style reminds me of a bad memory," I say honestly. The image of Samuel Seo superimposes on Jaeha Han in front of me.

He had brass knuckles in hand.

I'm sure if I read the manhwa, I would see Samuel Seo's silhouette appear above him, like when Warren fights like Manager Kim.

"Even a monster like you has that nightmare, haha," declares Jaeha Han, mocking.

"Despite my strength, I remain human. But it will be enough to deal with you," I reply, trying to imitate a character that Johan has never seen.

I wanted to use the original Johan's experience to try to reproduce a taekwondo technique that I had seen in the manhwa.

"What are you doing to me..." Jaeha Han didn't have time to finish his sentence as he found himself with my shoe right in his face, projected against a wall.

"It looks like the original, but I feel like it's incomplete," I murmured, observing Jaeha Han's unconscious body embedded in the destroyed wall.

I'm really going to have to observe the real technique myself.

I'll need to meet Hansu Seong and Manager Kim sooner than planned.
