May marks the season of spring farming. In the prosperous Texcoco Lake District, continuous black smoke rises from the slash-and-burn fields, with busy farmers and villagers everywhere. Farming in busy times, waging war during idle periods, and performing sacrifices after victories are the three most traditional and valued tasks for the Mexica people. The spring farming at the end of spring and beginning of summer each year is the critical time for determining the annual harvest.
"May the Chief Divine shelter us! The Supreme Main God grants life to the earth with His own divine blood! And I, as the embodiment of the Sun, will personally offer the sacrifices of the Divine Descendants, offering the Chief Divine blood to ensure the land's abundant harvest in five months!"
