2 MONTHS BEFORE ISSEI'S DEATH
It was almost nightfall, and at Kuoh Academy, a couple of young girls were in their clubroom.
"Wow, we didn't realize how late it got with all the paperwork," Rias said, looking out the window and seeing the moon.
"Ara, ara, that's right, Buchou. I think we should retire for the day, don't you agree?" Akeno said, handing a cup of tea to Rias.
"Then let's head—" but she couldn't finish her sentence, as she was stunned to see a rift in the sky.
"What the devil is that?" Rias said, confused.
Akeno leaned over to see what Rias was pointing at and was equally stunned, not knowing what that strange rift in the sky was.
"Could it be the work of one of the factions?" Akeno said with a serious expression.
"I don't think so. Everything is peaceful between the three factions right now, and I don't believe that thing in the sky is something anyone from this world could create. Don't you feel the powerful energy emanating from it?" Rias replied, with an expression of not knowing exactly what that thing was.
In that instant, while the two young girls were thinking about what it could be, something shot out of the rift at great speed and crashed into the back of the building, shaking the entire school.
"Rias, something flew out of the rift!" Akeno said, startled.
Rias nodded at what she said, and as they prepared to go outside to see what had emerged, the rift closed.
«That strange rift is closing after that thing flew out» Rias thought, even more confused by the strange occurrences.
"Let's go, Akeno, and be prepared for the worst," Rias told her companion.
"Understood, Buchou," Akeno replied, changing into her outfit as the Thunder Priestess.
When the two young women arrived at the spot where the object that came out of the rift had crashed, they were surprised to see a wounded young man inside the enormous crater.
"Is this young man the object that came out of that strange rift?" Akeno said, confused by what she was seeing.
"It seems so, Akeno. For now, we should take him to the clubroom, and when he wakes up, he can explain where he came from," Rias said. Akeno and she then prepared to lift the young man, but to their surprise, they couldn't move him an inch from the ground.
"What the heck is this guy made of? He weighs like a truck!" Rias said, dumbfounded by the strange weight of the young man.
"Ara, ara, we're not getting anywhere like this. It would be best to use magic to levitate him to the clubroom," Akeno said with an amused tone.
"Haaa... I don't know what you find amusing about this situation, but you're right, let's do that," and with that said, they moved the unconscious young man to the clubroom.
Once inside, they laid him on the sofa and saw that he had several injuries. They proceeded to remove his clothes, and at that moment, they realized that the young man's weight came from those very clothes.
"What the devil are these garments made of? They weigh a ridiculous amount!" Rias said, struggling to remove his shirt.
"Not just the shirt. Look at the wristbands, the boots, even the obi are made of that strange, super-heavy material," Akeno replied, surprised that a human could move with that weight without succumbing to gravity.
"Another mystery about the rift boy."
"The rift boy?" Akeno asked, surprised by her companion's lack of sense in assigning names.
"We have to call him something," Rias said.
"But you could have thought of a better name," Akeno chided her with a smile.
"He came out of the rift, didn't he? Well, 'rift boy' is what we'll call him until he wakes up," Rias said, proudly puffing out her chest, which made a drop of sweat appear on Akeno's brow.
After an hour, they finally managed to remove his shirt, leaving his body exposed and the two young women with surprised looks at the sight of the young man's physique.
«Is this even possible?» Rias thought, looking at the young man's sculpted body, which was all muscle without an ounce of fat.
«Ara, ara» was the only thing that crossed Akeno's mind, as she licked her lips at the sight of a body that not even the finest statue could achieve.
"Akeno, touch him, he's hard as steel," Rias said to her companion while touching the young man's chest.
"It's true, Rias. His body seems to be built for battle," Akeno said as she ran her hands over his perfectly formed abs.
«Who the devil are you?» Rias thought as she ran her hand over the young man's forehead, pushing back the hair that covered his face, and upon seeing his face closely, she thought he was a rather handsome young man.
"Ara, ara, it seems our rift friend is handsome too," Akeno said as she looked at the unconscious young man's face.
Once they finished treating the young man, the two prepared to go home, leaving the young man to rest.
The next morning, the young man woke up with the first rays of sunlight, quite confused to realize that he was in a place he didn't know.
"Where am I?" the young man said to himself, but at that moment, he felt an energy approaching the area where he was.
«A negative energy is approaching. It doesn't seem very powerful. I think it's about on the level of Tao Pai Pai,» the young man thought. «Well, we'll see how this ends.»
Just then, the door opened, and a young woman with crimson hair entered, who looked at the wild-haired young man, surprised.
"Oh, my. It seems you finally woke up," the girl said to the young man.
"So you were the one who brought me to this place?" the young man asked.
"Exactly. My companion and I brought you here after you shot out of that strange rift and crashed behind the building," Rias replied to the confused young man.
"Oh, well, thank you very much. Uhh... what's your name?" the young man said with a smile, which made Rias's heart race.
"I'm sorry for not introducing myself. My name is Rias, Rias Gremory, of the Gremory clan. And you, what is your name?" Rias asked the young man who smiled innocently.
"Hello Rias, it's a pleasure. I am Son Goku, but you can call me just Goku," Goku said, giving his famous smile, which made Rias's heart race again.
"It's nice to meet you, Goku," she replied with a smile. «Why the devil is my heart beating so fast when I see his smile?» Rias thought, not understanding why this was happening to her.
"Well, Goku, I'd like to know where you come from, but it would be best to wait for the other club members to arrive," Rias said as she sat down at her desk.
"Club?" Goku asked, with a huge question mark over his head.
"Do you mean to say you don't know what a club is, Goku?" Rias said to the confused Saiyan.
"Not at all," he replied.
"Ufff... it looks like I'll have to teach you many things, but that will be after the others arrive," Rias said, a drop of sweat forming on her brow because of the Saiyan, to which he replied with an 'ok'.
Several minutes passed, and while Goku looked out the window, he felt three energies similar to Rias's approaching. Just then, the door opened, revealing Akeno, who looked surprised at the Saiyan by the window, and was followed by Kiba Yuuto and Toujo Koneko, who also looked at the Saiyan in confusion.
"Ara, ara, it seems you woke up, ufufufu," Akeno said with that seductive smile to Goku.
"Well, we are all here now, so we can start," Rias said, giving everyone the signal to sit down and allowing Goku to begin his introduction.
"Hello everyone, my name is Son Goku, but you can call me Goku," he said to everyone with his typical smile, which caused a couple of heart flutters in Akeno and Koneko.
"Hello, I am Himejima Akeno, a pleasure, Goku," she said with a playful smile.
"I am Kiba Yuuto, a pleasure, Goku-san," Kiba said, making a small bow.
"I am Toujo Koneko, a pleasure," the loli said with her expressionless face.
"And these are all the members of the Occult Research Club," Rias said, but Goku looked puzzled, so he asked:
"But you are not human, are you?" Goku replied, surprising everyone.
"How do you know we're not human, Goku?" Rias asked.
"Because I feel a negative energy coming from all of you," he replied to Rias's question.
"Can you sense people's energies, Goku?" Akeno asked.
"Can't you?" Goku said, causing a bead of sweat to form on everyone's forehead.
"Well, it's true that we are not human; we are devils," Rias said, confusing the Saiyan. "Do you know what a devil is, Goku?"
"Of course I do, but the devils I remember don't look anything like you. They were ugly and weird, and you are pretty and look like normal humans," Goku replied, making the three girls blush.
"Thank you, but we are genuine, look," and after saying that, everyone showed their respective wings.
"WOW!" the Saiyan exclaimed, surprised.
"Now that you know this, it's your turn to tell us where you come from and why you came out of that strange rift," Rias proposed, to which the Saiyan nodded and prepared to tell them his story.
A couple of hours after the Saiyan finished recounting all his adventures, only silence could be heard in the Occult Research Club room as they all sat open-mouthed after hearing everything.
"Are you telling me that in your world there are beings that can destroy galaxies as if it were nothing, and that you are an alien whose planet was destroyed by a universal emperor because of fear of your race?" Rias said, dumbfounded by the story she had just heard, still unable to believe it.
"That's right. Did I say something strange? Is it that in this world there aren't people who can do those things?" Goku asked, confused, with question marks over his head.
"WELL, OF COURSE THEY DON'T EXIST!" they all shouted at the same time with perfect synchronization.
"That's strange. I asked Whis to send me to a world where there were strong people," Goku said, confused.
"That Whis you speak of, is he the angel who serves the God of Destruction you told us about?" Kiba asked.
"Yes, the same one. He was supposed to have found a world where I could fight strong people, but when I was about to enter the portal... AHH!" Goku exclaimed, remembering what happened.
"Did you remember something, Goku?" Rias said, worried by the Saiyan's expression.
"Yes, I remember that at that moment Bills-sama started throwing energy balls and one hit me, launching me inside the rift, and when I was regaining my balance many more entered, and that's all I remember," Goku commented to the club members.
"I see, which left you drifting aimlessly and appearing by chance here in Kuoh," Rias said after analyzing what Goku had told them.
"But there's one thing that doesn't quite fit in your story, Goku," Rias said seriously.
"Something that doesn't fit?" Goku said, confused, not understanding.
"Exactly... according to your story, you said you have two sons, Gohan and Goten, right?"
"Yes, I said that. What's strange about that?" Goku said, even more confused by the question.
"How can someone as young as you have a son who is already married and another who is 12 years old is what I don't understand," Rias said, leaving Goku with a raised eyebrow, as he didn't understand anything.
"I'm not young. If I remember correctly, I should be about 43 years old," Goku replied, to which the Occult Research Club members looked at him strangely.
"Do you really think you're that old? Haven't you looked in a mirror yet?" Akeno said to the now completely confused Goku.
Then Rias pointed to the mirror on the wall and Goku approached to look at himself, since he no longer knew what to think, finding in the mirror his younger self from when he fought Piccolo in the World Tournament.
"Eeeeh? How did I become young again?" he was completely surprised and kept looking at himself in all directions, but suddenly he said: «Oh well, what can you do?» putting his hands behind his head and smiling, which made everyone fall over in an anime style.
"You're a very carefree person, aren't you?" Kiba said.
"Ufufufu, Goku-san is a very interesting person," Akeno laughed, looking at Goku as if she were very interested in him.
"Goku-sempai is strange," Koneko said while eating cookies.
"Hey, Goku, what will happen now with your wife and children?" Rias asked, to which the Saiyan replied:
"Oh, don't worry about that. My ex-wife surely found someone better than me. My son Gohan is married, and Goten is with his mother, so I'm free to do whatever I want," Goku said carelessly.
"Didn't you love your wife or something?" Rias asked, confused.
"Love? What is that?" Goku said, which left everyone wide-eyed.
"You were married and had two children, and you're telling me you don't know what love is," Rias said with a raised eyebrow.
"Well, I got married because of a promise, which I thought asking for her hand meant they would give me something tasty to eat, hehehe," he said, scratching his head.
Rias and the others thought: «How can he be so innocent?»
"Well, Goku, leaving that aside, I would like you to show us a little of your power," Rias said while the others nodded.
"Hummm... that's fine by me, but let's go outside. I don't want this place to come down," Goku said, to which the others nodded, though still believing he was exaggerating.
Once outside the club building, they moved a little away and then Goku prepared to increase his Ki.
"If you are ready, observe," to which everyone stared intently to see what the Saiyan would do.
"HAAAH!" Goku shouted and began to raise his Ki, making the entire place tremble, while Rias and her group watched in fear the incredible power they were sensing emanating from Goku.
"Is this even possible?" Rias said, but she spoke in an almost inaudible voice.
The Ki increased more and more, making the white aura surrounding him grow larger, and the club building was beginning to show cracks. But that wasn't the end of it, because in Kuoh city everything began to shake. People shouted, scared, thinking it was an earthquake, the biggest of all time, which would later be remembered.
But this spectacle did not go unnoticed by anyone from the three factions, who were terrified to feel such a monstrous power and quickly began to track its location.
"That's enough, Goku, stop, please!" Rias shouted, barely able to remain standing due to the pressure, to which Goku stopped immediately.
"That's it? When I haven't even released 10% of my base power?" Goku said, disappointed, to which everyone looked at him astonished.
"All that power and it wasn't even 10%..." Rias said, amazed and terrified by the being in front of her.
"That was amazing," Kiba said.
"Powerful," Koneko said.
"Ufufufu..." Akeno laughed, looking at Goku with carnivorous eyes.
"So, what now?" Goku asked Rias, snapping her out of her thoughts.
«I must have him, no matter the cost, now that I know how powerful he is» Rias thought, looking at the imposing Saiyan. "Hey, Goku, would you be interested in becoming a devil?"
"If I become a devil, what would I do?" Goku asked, now serious.
"As part of my clan, you would be under my orders as your master," Rias said.
Goku thought for a while, which felt eternal to the nervous Rias.
"That's fine, but on the condition that I won't take orders from you or anyone else. If you accept this, I will gladly be part of your clan," Goku said, looking Rias seriously in the eyes.
"May I know why you have that condition?" Rias asked.
"Because I am a Saiyan, and we don't like to bow to anyone; we are a proud race, or so Vegeta told me. If you don't want to accept my condition, then too bad," Goku explained.
Rias thought quickly and accepted Goku's conditions, at which point she quickly began the ritual. But no piece would work, and as a last hope, and praying, she used all 8 Pawns, which were accepted, making her happy and hugging Goku out of euphoria, which made her blush heavily and made the others laugh.
With everything settled, only one thing remained to be said: «Welcome to the Occult Research Club!» they all said in unison.
"Oh, yes. One more thing: I will enroll you in school," Rias said.
"I never went to school," Goku said, surprising everyone.
"You know how to read at least, right?" Rias asked, no longer surprised by anything the Saiyan said.
"Yes, Master Roshi taught me how to read and write and a little bit of addition and subtraction," Goku said, recalling old times.
"Umm... that's too basic, but never mind. You just pay attention to the lessons and you'll learn something," she told the Saiyan.
"Well, all that's left is to find you a place to live," Rias told Goku, knowing that he had nowhere to go.
"Thank you, that would be a great help, Rias," Goku told Rias with his typical smile.
"Well, let's go home for today, as it has been a very, very long day," Rias said to everyone, thus ending a day that was like a roller coaster for the members of the Occult Research Club.
