Chapter 25 - Chapter 24: The Final Nightmare part 2

The two combatants clashed in a flurry of punches and kicks, their movements lightning-fast as they exchanged blows and breaths getting shorter.

In a final, desperate bid to turn the tide, Prince Ewuare summoned a massive root to burst forth from the ground, its tip sharp as a spear again. But Vode was ready and swift, he dodged and countered with a dark energy blast that sent Prince Ewuare on his back.

As Prince Ewuare struggled to rise, Vode jumped over him, his chest heaving with exhaustion. "Enough!," Vode said, his voice firm and commanding. "Let Idara go."

Prince Ewuare glared up at Vode, his eyes burning with hatred. Prince Ewuare let out a snarl of rage and summoned one final burst of energy. Waving his arm, he sent Idara flying off the rooftop, her screams echoing through the air as she descended.

Vode reacted instinctively, his heart racing. He dove off the rooftop, his body arcing through the air as he desperately sought to catch Idara. Time seemed to slow as he reached out, his hands straining to grasp her wrist.

Just as he managed to grab hold of her, Prince Ewuare summoned a fierce gust of wind, slamming into them with incredible force. Vode felt himself being smashed towards the ground, his body unable to resist the power of the wind. And in that moment, the wind and the ground seemed to part ways. The wind and the ground closed in around them, and darkness spread all through the ground.

As the dust settled, Prince Ewuare stared down at the ground, his eyes wide with shock and confusion. He had expected to see Vode and Idara lying broken and battered on the ground. But instead, there was nothing. Like they had vanished into thin air.

Instead of hitting the ground, Vode and Idara fell through a dark, formless void.

He now realized that he had underestimated Vode. The young man's power was far greater than he had ever imagined.

Vode appeared back on the roof, his eyes blazing "You've failed," he said, his voice firm and resolute.

Prince Ewuare, weak and defeated, tried one more time to summon his powers, then a voice boomed from the sky, thunder shaking the air. "Ewuare, your days shall end here. You have defiled the power of the ancients, using it against the true heir. We now reject you, Ewuare."

It was a voice only both of them could hear

Vode, however, was not interested in their power. "Where were your so-called ancients when my dad needed you?" he replied, his voice laced with anger and hurt. "As you have rejected him, I reject you also."

Prince Ewuare, desperate to retain his powers, shouted, "He doesn't know what he's saying! Please, retain me as the heir!"

But before he could finish speaking, a bolt of lightning struck him, sending him tumbling off the building. He fell with a loud thud, his body hitting the ground with a sickening crunch.

The thunder seemed to seize, and Vode let out a sigh of relief as he fell to his knees, his arms bleeding and lips torn. "And you Vode have rejected the power and us, hence you shall never hear this voice again but beware, there are more powerful people than him and now they will come for you but we won't aid you." the thunder seemed to say, before falling silent.

The Dark entity within Vode seemed to be enjoying where this dark tale is heading and gave a psychotic grin "Let them come".

Vode wept, his body shaking with sobs. He had finally found justice for his father, but at what cost? his heart heavy with grief.

As he wept, the darkness grew thicker, reacting to his pain.
