The University bustled with students from various faculties, each with their own unique energy. Vode, a second-year science student, sat in his MTH281 class, chatting with Aisha.
"You if someone had told me I wouldn't have believed it, you're actually studying to pass this course," Aisha said, playfully rolling her eyes. "I mean, you're not exactly the brightest bulb in the box."
"Hey!, I'm a genius in my own way," Vode replied, grinning. "And I have Idara to thank for it. She's been helping me through a tough time, even with some private lessons."
Just then, Idara walked in, and Vode's eyes lit up. "Idara! Hey, I was just talking about you."
Idara smiled briefly and took her seat, leaving Vode looking slightly disappointed.
Dr. Adeyemi, the lecturer, walked in and began his lecture. Further into the lecture Vode asked a question, "Dr. Adeyemi, I'm having trouble understanding this problem ."
The lecturer turned the tables, "why don't you test your limits and try it here?"
The class fell silent, Vode withdrew but Idara came to the rescue, "Dr. Adeyemi, may I try?"
"Of course, Idara," the lecturer replied.
Idara solved the problem with ease, and the class felt at ease once more.
"That's just wonderful Idara," Dr. Adeyemi said. "You're a shining star in this class and I hope the others can pick up after you. Now, let's move on to the next problem."
The lecture soon ended, Aisha after making jest of Vode promised to visit him in his hostel, "I'll come around later. We can study together for our next exam."
"Sounds good to me," Vode replied.
On seeing them talking Idara left the hall to a nearby store to get a snack but while returning from behind Vode lifted her making her scream with laughter, "Vode, put me down! You childish creature!"
He easily caught her cupcake which was about hitting the floor and he ate it "chill I'll get you two more". Ola his friend happened to be walking by, "yo! Vode you better not forget our soccer game today, you do and I'll make sure you loose those legs" Ola said. "We need to beat them this time."
"I'm ready bro, bring it," Vode replied.
It was a day filled with learning and laughter, he was trying to clear the cluster of his head.
