Chapter 2 - Beginning after the end-1

A man was sitting in his office and making an angry face.

Cain's anger persisted as he stared at his computer screen and corrected errors in his team's reports. "Damn, because I accepted this promotion to be a supervisor! And the pay isn't even that good.

Those bastards must be paying little attention to the reports. He muttered to himself. Having to correct the seventh report full of errors and misinformation.

A sudden, irritating voice interrupted his thoughts. "They were probably in a hurry, today is Friday, everyone is excited to go out and have fun," Luan, his longtime friend.

He joined the conversation from behind. Cain gave him a furious look. "What do you want, Luan? I don't have patience for you right now, leave."

Undeterred, Luan smiled. "Oh my God, stop being grumpy and cheer up."

"Shut up. What do you want, anyway? You can't just talk to me without a reason, so spill it."

Luan sighed dramatically. "Alright, I was invited to this open bar and I was hoping you could come. So, interested?"

Cain's answer was a quick and decisive "NO."

"Why?"

"Dude, we're corporate workers, all I want is to go home, take a shower and sleep without worrying about any kind of report. Got it?"

"But this isn't fun! Luan shouted.

"I said NO. Even if you beg me to go, I will never interact with your kind. Unlike you, who like to socialize, I won't. Not because I'm too nervous to interact, but because I only use my energy into something more productive like mine.

I'm sleepy and I have to catch up on my series."

"Man, you're no fun. It's okay, call me if you change your mind. See you later."

"Whatever" Cain replied as Luan left, leaving him alone again.

Sighing, Cain contemplated his life as a worker. "When will my days as a salaryman be over? All I did was work and work constantly and until now I haven't achieved my financial independence nor a family."

After another hour of work, Cain decided to go home. On the way, he stopped at the nearest market and bought some junk food and ate it all while walking home.

"Um, how long has it been since I stopped reading Jujutsu Kaisen?

I have a habit of piling up the chapters to read them all at once, I'm kind of bored about what to do now," he mused, recalling his lazy days watching anime.

Lost in his thoughts, as he crossed a small bridge to go home, which was in a small part of the city that was still relatively rural, he soon noticed the sound of the air being cut at great speed. Looking up into the sky, he saw a plane falling towards him.

And the last thing Cain remembered was the disorienting chaos before everything went black, was screaming at the top of his lungs.

"Damn Airplane-kun!"
