Chapter 51 - Chapter 50

Four months later

"Pika Pika, Pikachu."

"What do you mean by 'timeskip' Pikachu?" asked its confused trainer.

Ash and Pikachu were sitting in the locker room before his match against the Kalos Champion begins.

The event of the World Academy of Elites had successfully took its place months ago. To say this couple of months were exciting will be a huge understatement. The excitement spreaded all across Kalos regarding it. Many people from outside the Academy applied for it, but only a few got accepted. The Law enforcements were trusted to ensure the security of everyone and to make sure that nothing bad happens like the last time.

The campus was decorated beautifully on this special occasion. It was more of a festival than a competition, but the students did have a lot of fun together. Everything took place at the same time. Like the battles, contests, performances and exams were supervised by different Professors respectively. It was conducted perfectly under all circumstances.

Brock, Gary, Cilan and Goh scored the highest in the practical field and they were presented the opportunity to apply for the higher levels.

In the performance round, it was sure a blast. All the girls did very well, but it was inevitable for only one to top it. However, it was an exception in this case. Miette and Shauna were the two finalists in it. After their respective solo performances, their score had tied, which was a rare case in these platform. However, they were told to stage a dual performance so, the winner may be announced later. But due to plot writ....I mean, due to sheer coincidence, it had ended up with a tie as well. With no other choice, Palermo then suggested a trio performance of Miette, Shauna and the Kalos Queen Serena at the finals, which hasn't been ever done before in the performance history. It was immediately accepted by the public as they now, eagerly await to witness it.

Now, coming to the platform of Contests. It was similarly outstanding like the performance rounds. Solidad was one of the applicants who got accepted from outside. The contest rounds were explosive. Not literally, but you get the point. May had it quite easy, except for facing Kenny in the semi-finals. He did put up a good show, but wasn't enough to beat the Hoenn princess, as she secured her spot in the finals. Solidad defeated Drew in the Top 8 round by an inch. But her time in the competition didn't last long after she lost against Dawn in the semi-finals, as the Queen of Sinnoh ultimately reached the finals. In conclusion, May and Dawn were soon going to face each other in the finals.

Very very predictable, I know.

Now let's jump into the main shit, the battles. Because, let's be honest here. Most people are probably only interested in it.

The outsiders who joined the competition were some strong battlers like: Alain from the Kalos region, Virgil from the Unova region, Tyson from the Hoenn region, Ritchie from the Kanto region and Ilima from the Alola region. Ash and the other trainers were thrilled to get this started and use this opportunity to battle against each other in order to prove themselves.

A portion of trainers were eliminated in the qualifiers round firsthand. The competition got challenging when the second round started. Trainers fought wildly with each other. Some emerged victorious while some had to bear their losses. Cameron lost against Brendan in their match. Paul won against Stephan and also defeated Calem. His fellow Elite four member, Flint progressed equivalently. Alain defeated Ritchie ansld also managed to get through Elite Four Aaron, but was surprisingly beaten by none other than Sawyer. Max battled brilliantly and defeated Virgil, but had to face defeat in the hands of Iris. The Dragon Master later faced Misty and their match ended up with a tie. Lana and Sophocles were eliminated in the early rounds of the tournament, whereas Lillie and Mallow decided to skip it. Kiawe however, did a great job as he made into the top 8, but was defeated by Tyson. Not to mention Anabel, who rampaged throughout the entire tournament with her team of absolute Psychic.

After all the battles concluded, the top 5 trainers of the tournament had to face each other in a Battle Royal. Which was only a tradition in the Alola region was now pretty much famous among the new generation. The five trainers were:

1. Ash 2. Paul 3. Flint 4. Sawyer and 5. Anabel

The finale was a grind of friendship and betrayals, as it should be in a Battle Royal. Each were allowed to use three pokemon. Ash started the fight with his Infernape while everyone else chose their pokemon. He was sort of ganged up on from the beginning, because everyone knew how much of a threat he was to them. Everyone except Anabel of course, who decided to side by him for the time being. Ash intelligently compelled them to clash against each other with their own moves simply by dodging or deflecting. It eventually led to the knock out of Sawyer's Aegislash and Paul's Weavile. They immediately understood Ash was using the situation to his advantage instead of the opposite. It led to the change of plans as they later, battled fairly onwards.

There was no one sided battle here as each and every round took the breath away of the audience. Sawyer and Anabel were the first to get eliminated. The remaining pokemon of the rest were wiped out by a powerful Thunder from Pikachu, granting Ash the victory of the battle competition.

Now, it was time for him to take on Diantha's title, as his priced opportunity.

"Will the Challenger proceed to the main battlefield?"

The announcer's voice interrupted their conversation.

"That's our cue Pikachu, let's go."

"Pika."

The two best friends got out of the locker room and started walking towards the entrance. Ever since his mother has woken up from her deep sleep, Ash has never felt this much better. He felt as if a lost part of his soul has returned to him after a long time. He temporarily left the job from KDA and intended to return after he has settled down on his goal properly. As he reached the mouth of the entrance, the screams and roars of the crowds were drumming against his ears.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the Kanto region, inside a small house of Pallet town, a woman could be seen eagerly sitting in front of the television. Delia watched as the audience roared with loud cheers as her son walked out of the entrance with a confident Pikachu on his shoulder. She smiled and wiped her tears of joy, as her chest was filling with pride. Ash wanted to skip the whole tournament and spend time with her, but she persuaded him to achieve his dream firsthand before everything else, and Delia knew she didn't make a bad decision. She looked outside the living room window with her gleamy eyes, when a small, pink pokemon flew by her window right at that moment. She closed her eyes and smiled wistfully as a thought ran across her mind.

'He will be so proud of you Ash.'

"Give another round of applause for Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town from Kanto," the announcer yelled as the crowd yet again, cheered their hearts out. The battle was taking place in the Main Stadium of the Academy itself. Spectators from outside and inside equally were present here in huge number. The battle was going to be broadcasted as usual. All of Ash's friends and rivals were here to cheer him on. The Kalos native people were very eager to see this battle as well.

The raven haired trainer stepped on the platform. He looked just in time to see his opponent, smiling at his direction. Her white dress and elegant look were easily recognizable.

"Looks like we will be able to continue our unfinished battle today, Ash," said Diantha, recalling their previous encounter. The boy returned the smile.

"Sure thing Diantha. And you can be sure that I won't be holding back," he said, confidently.

"I expect nothing less," she said with a nod and unclipped a pokeball. The referee came and took his position.

"This is six on six full battle between the Kalos Champion Diantha and the Kanto Champion Ash Ketchum," he said as the crowd roared in excitement.

"Champion Ash, send out your first pokemon," the referee called after stating all the rules.

Most of the people, specially the girls present in the stadium were fan-girling over him. And sure enough, he heard the voices of some particular girls who were cursing those fangirls in jealousy. Ash quietly chuckled knowing what was going on.

"Well Pikachu?" he asked his partner.

"Pika Pi," the mouse cried with a confident look, as it knew for sure who the trainer's first pokemon in this battle would be.

Ash extended his right arm forward. Pikachu sprinted across it from his left shoulder, jumped and gave a flip in mid-air, before going into a battle stance on the battlefield. Yellow sparks flew out of its cheeks.

"I choose you."

APOLOGY:

Yes yes, I know the ending wasn't satisfying enough. Tbh, I felt bad to finish it right here. But I have my reasons. If I continued to prolong this book, I would have ran out of ideas and eventually discontinue it at some point, which I am not very fond of. So, I am sorry if some of you wanted more chapters from this book. Once again, sincere apologies for ending the story so soon.
