The old house of the Gong Family is quite old; no one has lived in it for many years, but because it's the house of a martyr's family, it has been well preserved.
The villagers helped clean it up, and Gong Lingtuo and Jia Xuan moved in. Before leaving, Ou Lan left them a lot of daily necessities, as well as the snacks Jia Xuan enjoys.
Even so, it's not as easy and convenient as living in the city.
This is in the mountains, after all. There are no restaurants, and you can't order takeout. Meals need to be prepared by hand. If you want to buy something, you have to wait until the next day to ride into town to get it.
Gong Lingtuo declined the villagers' kind invitations and got some rice, flour, and vegetables from Grandfather Gong. In the evening, he personally cooked a meal for Jia Xuan.
He built a temporary stove in the yard, set up an iron pot, and used this simple setup for cooking dinner.
Jia Xuan was very curious, squatting nearby with her chin in her hands watching.
