Ning Guiwan looked after Tan Xi until she fell asleep drunk, then called Song Changfeng.
He returned not long after she hung up. Ning Guiwan looked at him, somewhat surprised, as he forced a smile. "Actually, I came back earlier but didn't come up."
Ning Guiwan looked at him. "Did Quan Yu tell you I brought her back?"
Song Changfeng's eyes flickered. Should I answer truthfully or fabricate a lie? he seemed to ponder. But then he heard Ning Guiwan say again, "I know everything."
His heart sank. "What do you know?"
"When I first met you, you and Sister Xi weren't lovers. And when you found my apartment, it wasn't really to rent a place." Ning Guiwan held her phone. Tan Xi had made a fuss for a while before falling asleep. While looking after Tan Xi, she kept wondering whether to call that person. But what could I say when the call connected? Confront him? Or... thank him?
Song Changfeng felt this was terrible; his expression wasn't good either.
