The Jade Emperor went to the Underworld, not to seek out King Yama, but to find the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
With the emergence of the immeasurable kalpa during the Journey to the West for Scriptures, many immortals and Buddhas have recently fallen, and after their fall, the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva would quickly arrange their reincarnation each time; attempts to rescue them were always a step too late.
But today, the Jade Emperor felt he should give it a try.
Arranging reincarnation is not an easy task, especially in such a short time; the Heavenly Court has almost simultaneously suffered the assassination of several powerful figures, making it impossible for the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva to easily arrange the reincarnation of a few immortal gods.
Therefore, the Jade Emperor came to see the Ksitigarbha Cave.
If he could rescue them, it would be the best, but if not, he could at least talk with their lost souls to understand the identity of the mysterious enemy.
