Liang Yunren felt a sharp pain in his waist. He abruptly looked down; a dagger was buried to the hilt in his side. The agony made him go limp. Blood quickly soaked the bed.
Miss Liang, disgusted, kicked Liang Yunren away. "Useless!" she spat. Clad only in a bathrobe, she watched as her people dragged Liang Yunren out.
A short while later, a service attendant had cleaned the bed and the blood-stained carpet. Even the metallic tang of blood was masked by fresh incense.
Miss Liang, savoring the memory, said to Miss Fang, "Your eye for these things is getting better. This one wasn't bad at all. You should've kept him around to play with longer. What was the rush?"
Miss Fang wiped the blood from the dagger. "What did you like best about him?" she asked.
"Nothing really stood out," Miss Liang replied.
"Then we're done with him," Miss Fang decided.
"Fine by me," Miss Liang agreed. "There are plenty of men out there. We'll find one you're happy with."
