When Peter woke up the next day, he had a splitting headache.
He thought carefully about what had happened last night and still couldn't remember if he had let it slip.
He got out of bed, washed up, and went out the door. He saw his parents eating breakfast downstairs, so he went downstairs and looked tentatively at Justin, but his father didn't even look at him and was just eating.
Instead, it was Nora who said, "Eat something. Your stomach will feel better."
Seeing that his father was fine, Peter heaved a sigh of relief.
At least he hadn't found out the truth. That was great.
Peter went to the dining table and had a bowl of porridge.
Only then did Nora say, "Pete, what exactly did you want to ask me yesterday?"
Peter paused for a moment. "Nothing."
Nora sighed. "Our son has grown up. He doesn't want to share secrets with me anymore. I remember, when you were five years old, you liked to sleep with me the most. You liked to tell me whatever was on your mind."
