Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

Five years had passed since the birth of their son, Shean. The Wang mansion was filled with the lively energy of a happy family. Shean, now a spirited five-year-old, bringing endless joy and pride to his parents.

On Shean's fifth birthday, Wang Yibo had planned a special surprise for Xian Zhan. After a joyful celebration filled with laughter, cake, and presents, Yibo led Zhan to a quiet spot in their garden, away from the crowd.

"Zhan," Yibo began, holding his husband's hand tightly, "I have something special for you."

Zhan looked at him curiously, his eyes sparkling with anticipation. "What is it, Yibo Ge?"

Yibo pulled out a set of keys and handed them to Zhan. "This is for you," he said, his voice filled with love. "A new building for your art studio. I know how much you've wanted a larger space to create and showcase your work."

Zhan's eyes widened in surprise and joy. "Yibo Ge, this is amazing! Thank you so much!" He threw his arms around Yibo, hugging him tightly. "You always know how to make me happy."

Yibo kissed the top of Zhan's head. "You deserve it, Zhan. You've given me and Shean so much love and happiness. This is just a small token of my appreciation."

Life seemed perfect for the Wang family. As Wang Yibo had become the CEO of Wang Cooperation, and his business was thriving. Zhan's new art studio quickly gained recognition, and he was happier than ever, expressing his creativity in the spacious new building Yibo had gifted him.

Hao Xuan got married to Ji Yang, and still working at Zhan's Studio both of them, Ziyi married her new found fiancee Yang-Yang, Ji Li and Yubin are dating each other. And Zhan's brother Zhuo Cheng and his wife had a 3 year daughter.

Every morning, Zhan would drop Shean off at school and then head to his studio, where he would immerse himself in his artwork. Yibo, on the other hand, would head to the company, managing his responsibilities with his usual diligence and dedication.

Their evenings were filled with family time, laughter, and stories. They cherished every moment together, grateful for the love that bound them so tightly.

Despite their seemingly perfect life, a small seed of misunderstanding began to sprout.

Wang Yibo, known for his possessiveness and jealousy, found it increasingly difficult to manage his emotions as Zhan's popularity grew.

Zhan, being free-spirited and cheerful, often interacted with various artists, clients, and fans at his studio. His charming personality drew people to him, and his studio became a popular hub for art enthusiasts.

One day, Yibo decided to surprise Zhan by visiting his studio during lunch. As he entered the building, he saw Zhan laughing and chatting with a young artist named Liang, who had been working closely with Zhan on a new project.

From a distance, it seemed like they were getting too close for Yibo's comfort. His heart tightened with jealousy, and a dark cloud of suspicion began to form in his mind.

That evening, when Zhan returned home, he noticed Yibo's distant demeanor. "Yibo Ge, is everything okay?" he asked, concern evident in his voice.

Yibo forced a smile. "Yeah, everything's fine," he replied, but his tone was clipped.

Zhan knew something was wrong but decided not to press further. He hoped Yibo would open up to him when he was ready.

Over the next few days, Yibo's jealousy grew. He started arriving unannounced at Zhan's studio, keeping a watchful eye on his interactions. Zhan, oblivious to Yibo's suspicions, continued his work, unaware of the storm brewing in Yibo's heart.

One afternoon, after Zhan had refused to join Yibo for lunch due to a prior commitment, Yibo decided to go out with his PA, Yu Bin. They chose a quiet restaurant near Zhan's studio. As they walked in, Yibo's eyes fell on a table near the window where Zhan was sitting with a woman, Yue, whom he had met years ago.

Yibo's heart sank as he watched Zhan and Yue laughing together, their heads close as they shared an animated conversation. His mind raced with jealousy and suspicion.

As Yu Bin tried to engage him in conversation, Yibo found it hard to focus, his attention continually drifting back to Zhan and Yue. "Mr. Wang, are you alright?" Yu Bin asked, noticing Yibo's distraction.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Yibo replied, though his eyes remained fixed on his husband and the woman.

After lunch, Yibo couldn't hold back any longer. When Zhan returned home, he confronted him. "Zhan, who was that woman you were with today?"

Zhan looked surprised. "You mean Yue? You already knew her, as I told you so many times she's just a friend, Yibo Ge. We were catching up over lunch."

Yibo's jaw tightened. "It didn't look like just friends to me."

Zhan sighed, trying to keep his patience. "Yibo Ge, you know I love you. There's nothing between me and Yue. You have to trust me."

Yibo's jealousy and possessiveness were starting to drive a wedge between them. Despite Zhan's reassurances, the seed of doubt had been planted in Yibo's heart, and it would take more than words to uproot it.

As the days passed, the tension between Yibo and Zhan grew. Zhan continued to focus on his art and managing his studio, while Yibo struggled with his insecurities.

Their once-perfect life was now marked by frequent misunderstandings and unspoken accusations. Zhan, hurt by Yibo's lack of trust, began to distance himself, while Yibo's jealousy only intensified.

Despite the growing rift, they both longed to find their way back to the love and trust that had once been the foundation of their relationship. They knew they had to confront their issues head-on, or risk losing everything they had built together.

The tension between Wang Yibo and Xian Zhan continued to grow, each day adding more strain to their relationship. Zhan had tried everything to reassure Yibo of his love, but Yibo's jealousy and insecurities were like an insurmountable wall between them.

One evening, after another exhausting day at work, Zhan came home to find Yibo waiting for him in the living room. The atmosphere was thick with unspoken words and pent-up frustration.

"Zhan, we need to talk," Yibo said, his voice strained.

Zhan sighed, already weary of the confrontation he knew was coming. "Yibo Ge, I'm tired. Can we not do this right now?"

"No, we have to do this now," Yibo insisted, his eyes dark with determination. "I can't keep living like this, always wondering if you're truly mine."

Zhan felt a surge of anger and hurt. "Yibo Ge, how many times do I have to tell you? I love you. Only you. Why can't you believe that?"

Yibo's jaw tightened. "Because every time I see you with someone else, it feels like you're slipping away from me."

Zhan took a deep breath, trying to keep his emotions in check. "Yibo Ge, I've done everything to show you that you're the only one for me. But your constant jealousy is suffocating me."

Yibo's face softened for a moment, then hardened again. "I just can't help it, Zhan. I love you so much, and the thought of losing you drives me crazy."

Zhan's frustration boiled over. "Yibo Ge, your love shouldn't feel like a prison. I can't keep living under this constant scrutiny. It's tearing us apart."

Yibo looked at him, a mixture of hurt and anger in his eyes. "So what are you saying, Zhan? That you want to leave?"

Zhan shook his head, tears welling up in his eyes. "No, Yibo Ge. I don't want to leave. But if things don't change, I don't know how much longer I can stay."

The words hung in the air, heavy and painful. Yibo's heart ached as he watched the tears stream down Zhan's face. He knew his jealousy was driving a wedge between them, but he felt powerless to stop it.

Zhan took a step closer to Yibo, his voice soft but firm. "I need you to trust me, Yibo Ge. I need you to believe in our love. If you can't do that, then we're doomed."

Yibo's shoulders slumped, the weight of his insecurities crushing him. "I don't want to lose you, Zhan. I'll try to change. I promise."

Zhan nodded, though the pain in his eyes was still evident. "I hope so, Yibo Ge. Because I can't keep living like this."

They stood there, the distance between them feeling greater than ever. Despite Yibo's promise, Zhan couldn't shake the feeling that their relationship was on the brink of collapse.

In the days that followed, the atmosphere at home remained tense. Yibo tried to rein in his jealousy, but old habits died hard. Zhan, on the other hand, became more withdrawn, the constant strain taking its toll on him.

Despite Xian Zhan's best efforts to manage Wang Yibo's jealousy and earn his trust, fate seemed determined to test their relationship.

On a particularly stressful evening, Zhan found himself staying late at the studio with Liang, one of his employees. They were wrapping up a project for an important client who was scheduled to pick it up early the next morning.

Unbeknownst to Zhan, Liang had harbored a secret crush on him for some time. Seeing an opportunity with Zhan working late and alone, she decided to act on her feelings. As they finished the final touches on the project, Liang moved closer to Zhan, her intentions clear.

"Mr. Xian," she whispered, her voice low and seductive, "you're always so focused on your work. Don't you ever want to relax and... enjoy the moment?"

Zhan, oblivious to her advances at first, continued working. "Liang, we really need to finish this. The client will be here first thing in the morning."

But Liang wasn't deterred. She placed a hand on his arm, gently turning him to face her. "Zhan, there's more to life than work," she said, leaning in closer.

Meanwhile, at home, Wang Yibo couldn't shake a feeling of unease. Something didn't feel right, and his instincts told him to check on Zhan. Trusting his gut, he decided to visit Zhan's studio, hoping to surprise him and perhaps allay his own anxieties.

As he approached the studio, his heart pounded with anticipation and worry. He reached the door of Zhan's office and, without knocking, opened it.
