There was Gwen Spider-Woman in the front, and Merlin and Arcee in the back. The black cat's face suddenly darkened when she realized she was surrounded.
"You want to capture me? Whose order?" Merlin asked as he opened his mask and looked at the Catwoman in black and white tights with long silver hair in front of him.
Arcee raised the laser gun and put her finger on the trigger. It seemed as if a red laser would shoot out and pierce the opponent's head at any moment.
The Black Cat sighed, raising her arms as if accepting the reality. "Okay, I surrender. In fact, I was forced to kidnap you. My father's life is in the hands of the other party, and the person who sent me... is Kingpin!" She paused, emphasizing the last name heavily.
"Kingpin!" Gwen exclaimed in surprise, but her spider sense suddenly flared up.
"Phew!" She turned sideways instinctively, narrowly avoiding a flying claw.
The Black Cat, who had seemingly surrendered, suddenly jumped up while Gwen was distracted. At the same time, she threw out her claws and leaped off the rooftop. The hook she had thrown passed Gwen and accurately latched onto the edge of a building, allowing her to swing away on the steel rope.
"See you later!" She waved smugly to Merlin and the others still on the rooftop.
However, the next moment, a magnetic levitation fan blade suddenly cut across the rope. The Black Cat, who had been swinging confidently, fell straight down towards the dark street below.
"Huh?" Gwen's eyes widened in surprise. She instinctively shot out spider silk to save the Black Cat but was stopped by Merlin.
"She can't die," Merlin said calmly.
The Black Cat, now in free fall, landed heavily on a nearby building. Her sharp claws pierced the wall, sparks flashing as she slid down.
"Zizzi..." The Black Cat gritted her teeth, her fingers carving a six-meter-long scratch into the wall. Once her descent slowed enough, she pushed off with her feet and deftly disappeared into a tall Christmas tree.
The tree's branches quivered as the Black Cat vanished into the night.
Merlin and Arcee approached the Christmas tree, spotting a trail of blood on the branches. The fall clearly hadn't been kind to her.
"I'm going to find Kingpin. Do you want to come with me?" Merlin asked Gwen, who was perched on a wall parallel to the ground.
"Of course, we're going together," Gwen replied, shooting out spider silk and heading toward Hell's Kitchen.
Meanwhile, in Washington, Highway 195 was bustling with activity despite it being Christmas night. Densely packed vehicles sped down the highway, their headlights piercing through the darkness. Many of these vehicles were special models sold on the Rockstar platform.
A traffic officer, summoned to intercept the vehicles, stared helplessly at the digital display showing the overwhelming traffic volume. The cold wind whipped around him as vehicles roared past.
"Who the hell called me out here? How am I supposed to stop this?" he muttered, retreating to his patrol car to escape the biting cold and watching the speeding cars with resignation.
Above the highway, the night sky was alive with activity. Fighter planes, armed helicopters, bombers, transport aircraft, and more streaked across the sky, heading toward Washington. The assortment of aircraft included models like Sky Evil, Sparrow, Barbarian, Akula, Crazy Flame, Thunder Beast, Hydra, Villain, and even an Avenger.
The scene resembled a world war, with various fighter planes filling the sky. Washington, just 400 kilometers from Apple City, was reachable in four hours by car or half an hour by air. Consequently, Hellfire and Holy Light Judgment guilds had already dispatched fighter planes and transport aircraft, carrying their members to Washington.
Despite their arrival, the guilds did not act rashly, awaiting intel from planners within their ranks. As elite guilds among players, they possessed nearly every profession, including rare special professions, which required significant resources to maintain. Mechanics and pharmacists, in particular, were resource-intensive.
The mission against Hydra was dangerous, but the guilds were confident. Skill chips bolstered their abilities, but heavy Hydra firepower remained a concern. Hence, Hellfire and Holy Light Judgment collaborated, leveraging their respective strengths.
Inside an Avenger vehicle, Dr. Otto Gunther Octavius, wearing glasses and equipped with four mechanical octopus tentacles, analyzed the situation. Opposite him sat Elson Bull, a knight and leader of the Holy Light Judgment guild. With long blond hair and a tough demeanor, Elson embodied the heritage of his knightly family.
"Dr. Otto, how's it looking?" Elson inquired.
Otto, examining the gathered intel, replied, "The platform marks this as a SHIELD base. Are we sure about attacking it?"
Elson nodded confidently. "No problem. The platform's intel is reliable. Let's proceed."
"Understood. SHIELD's aircraft carrier poses a challenge, though," Otto noted. "Without Iron Man's Arc Reactor technology, SHIELD hasn't launched its Insight Project yet, so the aerospace carriers remain incomplete."
"Our focus is infiltration," Elson reassured. "If an opportunity arises, we can use space-based cannons to eliminate any obstacles."
"Hellfire's assassins will handle the groundwork," Otto acknowledged, preparing for the mission ahead.
