Chapter 397 - Chapter 398 : Minato Shocked??

[This eye changed Kakashi's way of thinking. He completely let go of his proud and arrogant defenses, no longer believing that the mission was above all else, but constantly reminding himself to cherish the comrades around him.]

[After escaping the cave, Kakashi used his Sharingan to complete the Chidori, instantly killing Kakkō who had escaped the cave before them, and he received timely backup from Minato.]

[After the Kannabi Bridge incident ended, Kakashi and Rin were assigned to different combat units.]

[Kakashi was alone again.]

[Later, Kakashi received a mission to the Land of Water to rescue a Konoha spy, and he found out the only one still alive was Rin. He took Rin and started running away.]

[At this time, Rin had already been forced by that old man Madara's scheme to become the Three-Tails Jinchuriki.]

[The Hidden Mist Village, used as a pawn by Madara, also planned to use the tailed beast, this unstable factor, to catch Konoha off guard and crush it while Rin returned to Konoha.]

"Uchiha Madara is still alive?"

Fourth Hokage's timeline.

Looking at the old Uchiha Madara on the light screen, Minato Namikaze could hardly believe his eyes.

He knew Rin had willingly died by Kakashi's hand, all to stop the Three-Tails from destroying the village.

But he never dreamed the mastermind behind this was Uchiha Madara, believed dead for many years.

"But that doesn't make sense. Madara went through all that trouble to make Rin the Three-Tails Jinchuriki, so why would he just watch her die by Kakashi's hand?"

"Is this the result Uchiha Madara expected? If so, then what exactly is his purpose in doing this?"

Namikaze Minato frowned, pondering what Madara's true intention might be.

But he lacked one crucial piece of information — the news that Obito was still alive. Without that, he couldn't figure out why Madara was pulling such a stunt.

He wasn't one to get stuck on things; if he couldn't think it through, he simply let it go.

Just the fact that Madara was still alive was shocking enough.

"Wait, how does Madara have the ability to turn Rin into the Three-Tails Jinchuriki? Could it be that his hiding place is in the Land of Water?"

"Has the Hidden Mist Village already been secretly controlled by him?"

As soon as this thought crossed Minato's mind, it felt very plausible.

The Tailed Beasts were the ultimate war machines for the great ninja villages, extremely valuable.

On the surface, it seemed reasonable for the Hidden Mist Village to use Rin to return and release the Tailed Beast.

But at the same time, this greatly increased the risk of losing the Three-Tails.

What if Rin didn't go berserk after returning to Konoha?

All the shinobi in the ninja world knew — if you asked whose ninjutsu was the strongest, there was still debate.

But if you asked whose sealing techniques were the strongest, there was absolutely no debate.

As an orphan of the Uzumaki clan, Uzumaki Kushina was right in Konoha.

Wouldn't the Hidden Mist Village be afraid that their plan would end in vain?

If Uchiha Madara had been involved in this whole matter, then the logic behind it would have made much more sense.

"It's possible that Kirigakure has been controlled by Uchiha Madara. This is truly shocking news."

[On the way back to Konoha, Kakashi and Rin were ambushed. Rin was trapped by a barrier set by Madara that prevented her from committing suicide, so she could only rely on Kakashi's Chidori to end her life.]

[Rin, determined to die, was fully aware of the situation, but Kakashi, focused only on saving his teammate, was completely caught in the trap.]

[Kakashi, shocked after stabbing Rin, who had always been strong enough to endure tough times before, felt as if a part of his own soul died along with her.]

[After the war ended, Kakashi, who should have grown into a clear-minded and promising young man, became pessimistic and withdrawn, walking down a dark path.]

[With two close teammates dying one after another, Kakashi suffered constant nightmares that affected both his body and mind. When carrying out life-or-death missions, he was often distracted, looking like he had seen a ghost even in broad daylight, nearly costing him his life.]

[Fortunately, Kakashi had his loyal friend Guy silently following and protecting him closely.]

[Minato, who had shared life-and-death experiences with Kakashi, learned about Kakashi's situation from Guy after becoming Hokage.]

[Although Minato was too busy managing the chaos of his high position to personally counsel Kakashi, he transferred Kakashi to the Anbu under his command, making him his trusted right hand and focusing on his training.]

[During his time on Anbu missions, Kakashi avoided forming bonds with teammates and was overly aggressive against enemies, usually finishing them with a single strike.]

[Minato understood the reason behind Kakashi's reckless behavior, so he appointed Kakashi as the secret bodyguard for his wife, Kushina Uzumaki.]

[However, fate was cruel. The one who understood and supported him, Minato, soon died in the Nine-Tails attack.]

[And so, the original Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, resumed his position as Hokage, taking full control.]

"Am I going to die in the Nine-Tails' attack?"

Upon learning the news of his own death, the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, showed a flicker of fear in his eyes.

He wasn't afraid of dying himself, but worried something might happen to Kushina.

Thinking that in just over a month Kushina would give birth, the time when her body would be at its weakest, and the Nine-Tails might take advantage to cause chaos — on the surface, it seemed logical.

But Kushina was not only the Nine-Tails' jinchūriki, she was also his wife. Wouldn't he have prepared in advance for something bad to happen?

That was clearly impossible.

Even if he was delayed by Hokage duties, there was still the Third Hokage.

So, no matter how Minato looked at the Nine-Tails' attack, it felt strange to him.

"There's definitely some hidden truth I don't know."

Minato had already decided that a few days before Kushina's delivery, he would recall all Konoha ninja on missions outside the village.

No matter what conspiracy was behind this, he would never let it succeed.

[Later, during missions, Kakashi met a boy named Yamato, who belonged to the Root organization under Danzo's control — the future Konoha architect, real estate genius, and substitute teacher.]

[Because of Yamato's way of carrying out missions, Kakashi saw a reflection of his younger self. Deeply moved, Kakashi overcame his solitude and became Yamato's life mentor, influencing him through example.]

[The two formed a deep friendship, and as they grew older, Yamato's admiration for Kakashi only increased, even leading to scenes like this in the TV anime.]

"This—"

Looking at the provocative picture on the screen, Kakashi nearly spat out a mouthful of old blood.

The others, however, burst out laughing.

"Haha, this is really outrageous."

"Such a scandalous thing~ hahaha."

"Didn't expect you, Kakashi, to be this kind of person."

For a moment, the whole office was filled with a cheerful atmosphere.
