Demo and the other are still in the room.
Ten has been watching Cleus for a while, trying to figure out the method behind his recovery.
"How can you recover this fast?"
Cleus grins and looks at Ten with an arrogant look as he answers.
"Practice makes perfect. After each battle, I had to recover before I was able to put to use what I learned. All you need is practice."
Ten nods.
"That makes sense."
Demo stops throwing his pebble and looks at Cleus with a confused look.
"That's not something to brag about. The only reason you got to practice that much is because you got your ass beat that much. How is that advice? Get your ass beat so you can learn how to recover?"
MyTy chuckles, but Cyte doesn't see the humor in it at all. She shoots Demo a look that could kill. Ten immediately wants to jump in, but Cleus stops him by raising his hand and defends himself.
"It was the only way to learn my family's techniques."
Demo starts throwing his pebble again as he answers.
"If you say so."
The set Cleus off.
"You pedantic miscre…."
Before Cleus can finish his sentence, the door opens, and Braverte and Pulmo walk in. Braverte is happy to see them.
"Glad you're all still here. I have some good news and bad news. The bad news is that all of you have to leave this place. The good news is, you're famous."
The group shares a look of confusion. Braverte goes into his pocket and brings out a set of cards. He places the cards on the table in the middle of the room. And then continues talking.
"You all have bounties now. Seems what we did pissed off the wrong people, or the right ones, depending on your view. But either way, some really bad guys are coming for you."
Demo and MyTy are the first at the table, and both of them smile like kids who just got a present as they ask in unison.
"Are they strong?"
Braverte chuckles as he answers.
"Stronger than you are right now. You would lose in 3 moves. And then everyone else will die."
MyTy smashes his fists together.
"We'll see about that."
Demo picks up his card, points at it as he asks his question.
"Why does my card only have O's?"
Braverte shakes his head and raises his shoulders.
"I don't know. Someone wants you, but they only want you alive."
Clues is looking at his card in shock. Braverte notices his shock and tries to comfort him.
"Your bounty is as high as mine. Which is insane. But I am still alive, so don't pay it too much mind. But I would recommend finding out who put this much on your head. Because not only will this much attract the higher-ups in the list, but it's also making me look bad."
Cleus grabs his card and takes a deep breath as he answers.
"I know who put the bounty on my head. And believe me. I will find them and take care of this."
Braverte looks at Cleus from the corner of his eye and knows that he shouldn't pry any further. He thinks to himself that the fact that the general would be willing to put this much on a kid's head means he is a genuine threat to the current throne.
Ten is standing at the table in shock. He can't utter a word. He is a wanted man, not just by the Prime Perfect but by a whole criminal organization as well. He can't help but think that this is bad, really bad. He almost starts going into a spiral when he feels a hand on his shoulder.
Demo smiles at him and nods. The panic attack that was about to hit subsides as Ten releases a sigh. Demo grabs one card and flings it towards the Palindra with the following words.
"There is one for you, too."
The Palindra opens his eyes and sees the card. His grip on the hilt of his blade tightens, and he closes his eyes again. Braverte brings the attention back to him as he asks the question.
"Where will you all go?"
MyTy is the first to answer.
"I will go back to my planet and complete the techniques of my family."
Cleus is the next one.
"We will go back, and I will reclaim my throne."
Ten and Demo look at each other, a bit lost. But before they can say anything, Braverte is standing in front of Demo. Demo looks up at him. Braverte holds out his hand as he talks to Demo.
"Give me your hand."
Demo is a bit hesitant as he remembers their first encounter. But Braverte is adamant.
"Do you trust me? If so, give me your hand."
Demo still has a slight look of distrust on his face, but knows that Braverte isn't bad. Demo places his hand in Braverte's.
Braverte raises his other hand and starts a mathematical chant, which brings forth energy that gathers in the form of a ball near the fingertips of his other hand. He slowly lowers this ball of energy into Demo's palm. The moment the ball of energy touches Demo's skin, a series of explosions happens. Like firework being set off, the room fills up with these explosions. Demo and the others are shocked at the beauty, but Braverte's eyes dart across the room as if he is looking for something in the explosions.
After the last explosion fades, Demo looks at Braverte as he asks the question.
"What was that?"
Braverte has a confused look on his face as he answers.
"Demo … what are you?"
Demo is a bit confused by this question.
"What?"
Braverte looks at Demo's palm as he starts talking.
"When you're born, this universe embeds a bit of itself into you. A signature to identify you, if ever you crossed dimensions. The ball of energy will become the mathematical symbol for equal if you're of this universe. It will simply dissipate if you're not. I have never seen it explode, never heard of it either. Demo, you and Ten are going to have to find the Book Keeper. She is the only one who can help you right now."
Ten is even more lost now.
"The Book Keeper?"
