Feng studied the elf standing by the doorway.
"Since when are you so kind?"
Amusement brightened Sera's eyes as she turned toward the girl.
"The Goddess of Purity blessed me for my kind heart, young lady. Whatever could you be implying about my person?"
"The same bitch who kidnapped your husband because, uhh... she doesn't like him?"
Sera smiled at Feng as the girl continued.
"The one whose priests were about to put those women we rescued from the goblins into debt slavery? That Goddess of Purity is your alibi for being a kind woman?"
The blonde elf's smile remained. "A hypocritical bitch Lily might be, but she's just a sheltered girl with a compassionate heart who has yet to find her way."
Alexios paused with his cup halfway to his mouth. For a thousand years, he'd worshipped the woman they were now discussing as a troublesome girl in need of guidance.
His wry gaze moved between them before he returned to his tea.
