"Kya!" Feng yelped and nearly jumped out of her skin, grabbing Quinlan's sleeve and ducking behind him. Only once she peeked out from behind his frame and saw that the creature was flying away without giving them any trouble did she curse under her breath, "What the hell was that?!"
Both Mearie and Luminara burst into soft laughter at the adorable sight of the girl, their earlier heaviness dissolving in the face of Feng's dramatic reaction. While one might find Feng's cry and immediate search for safety quite the normal thing, and it was, the same couldn't be said for the old primordials.
To them, such overly animated reactions were a true breath of fresh air as they hadn't had the chance to interact with an innocent, young mortal like her in a very long time. They were used to the mundane, bored reactions of the other age-old primordials who lacked emotion, who didn't flinch at anything, already having experienced almost any and all situations beforehand.
