Veshara joined Quinlan at the bow as Bim and Kaelira emerged from below the decks.
"Tervan, take us around the point. Black, got a little juice in you?"
"I don't think so," Quinlan shook his head grimly. "You worked me pretty hard."
"...Wait, what?" The dragonkin eyes widened as she realized there was a wrench in her plan. "I thought-"
"Just kidding. [Gust]."
Quinlan filled the sails with a raised palm, then spoke a water spell to send a current beneath the ship.
"You... Stop messing with me..." Veshara pouted, eyes narrowed.
Morgana joined him with her staff raised, chanting to keep his current on course while Tervan steered around the headland.
An alarm bell greeted them. Beyond the harbor entrance, pirates scrambled between loaded carts and ships still tied to the docks. More men were pouring down a broad stair from the fortress above.
"Enemies on the horizon!"
"Already here?!"
Veshara grinned at the confusion.
"They did know we were coming after all."
