Chapter 13
The door opens *Slam!* four shadows came.
"wahhh i'm tired, we were searching to the princess everyday in 3 weeks nonstop, yet we didn't found any leads". said Gen as he sat sluggishly on a chair.
"yeah but somehow i find it fun" said Rein.
"yes! it was Fun!" said Claris who was Glued to Rein in search.
Claude sit's on a Chair. Writing things he found with the potential to be the lead.
"Hmmm sigh I still can't locate her"
Gen walked behind. "Let me see it Claude".
"Look, we currently Searched for these five regions, and all of them shows no signs of her, I'm afraid this will takes us longer to find her, Considering that she might be already dead or moved to another place, what are your thoughts Gen?" Claude asked.
"Is there any Building which is like haunted?"
".....why? Do you ask about it?"
"Maybe Gen wants to have a vacation I guess?" Rein commented.
"Hmmm that is also a good Idea, but I have an inkling that she will be in such place".
"Here there is only one, although it's already a Ruined house but my spiritual perception sees it a little uncomforting, I at least, marked it cause I thought you may ask"
"Thank you Claude!" Said Gen.
"Do you have any thoughts Gen? On why Such a Princess will stay on Such Place" Rein asked.
"Hahaha, no just my thoughts and feelings, Runa is a just little princess so she cannot yet Go outside of the kingdom and the probability of it is about.... 1%"
"Why I thought it would be Roughly 10%?, considering that she wants to Avoid the Kingdom as a child" Claude asked.
"Look she is a suicidal Child, She may want to Die instead of Venturing far because she is loathing herself, but most Children cannot end their life alone, they cling to a little hope and fades overtime, and probably she will only stay in a single place all alone, because she hates Her power affecting her surrounding" Gen answered.
"..... Then let's say she is still there on the City, then the probability of she is dead is Roughly about 70%" said Claude, deducting Gen's next move"
"... Uh... yeah, ahem, and another 28% is where she is abducted by any means".
"Which gives us a 1% chance of finding her in the kingdom alive" said Claude.
Meanwhile Rein and Claris on the side, found it hard to comprehend.
"Um guys if princess Runa, uhhh if the probability of Her not going outside is just 1%, how is the probability of her being inside the Kingdom is also 1%?" Rein asked.
"You guys a bunch of nerds, said Claris".
"Ah to sum it up. Our chance to find Runa is just 1% because there are 70% chance she is already dead because a normal kid would die alone for a year and a half with suicidal issues, and about 28% chance she is abducted. And the remaining 1% is she is isolating herself in this city, hidden from the peoples and sunlight awaiting for her day to die with a lingering attachment, that's why she is still alive, if that 1% is the current situation she is in" Gen explained.
"..... I see"
"Took you long enough to respond Rein" said Gen.
"Then about the haunted Location?".
"Yeah, you go search there Gen, since you have an inkling she be there".
"Y-you won't come with me?"
"No, searching at once in a single place is insufficient" said Claude.
"Oh come on!"
"Oh by the way, I been meaning to asked of why are you're interested in the haunted place Gen?" Rein asked.
"Hehe, because they say she is a necromancer, and it's the perfect place to isolate for a girl closes to deaths, even though she is a Princess it has a higher chance she be there. What I learned from reading fantasy stuff by the way".
After the meeting, the trio scattered throughout the kingdom,
Rein was searching alongside Claris and the knights, though Claris just wanted to be with Rein.
Claude were Gathering information alone silently operating on several locations, and Gen were just enjoying his adventure strolling into the kingdom of Mistia.
As he walks, he found again the eerie building described by Claude, he was curious and suspicious therefore he cheeked. the building was very silent henceforth he observed and for a moment he heard a sob of a girl voice echoing through.
he felt fear, however despite that he went through, his curiosity above unnatural things were more stronger than fear, he gone inside the building walking with the eerie sensation until he arrived at the deepest part he found her.
A girl sitting on the side corner surrounded by darkness, wanting to commit suicide but was unable to find the courage to do, therefore lives in pain and loneliness isolated from the world alone.
"*How come she's still alive? after being alone for a year and a half, a-anyway this is a freaking good news!*"
Gen tried to get closer silently and found out that it was princess Runa, however princess Runa noticed him and got warned by his presence.
''who are you?!"
She asked with a nervous tone filled with fear, she trembled and said, with her purple amethyst eyes shrouded by tears begging to be saved.
''don't come near me!"
Her voice made Gen felt the fear and sadness through his skin, therefore, he said
''do not fear me princess, I am Gen, I was searching for you, princess Runa''
His tone were sweet and calm, which made the princess wanted to hear more about his words, she stood up and wiped her tears and asked.
''how do you know about me? My parents? Did they asked you for a favor that much? Did they not wanted me to vanish for their honor''
princess Runa were more wary, and her thought and view of her family is negative as she was abandoned, which made Gen felt the hurdle of this mission.
''princess Runa, do you miss your parents? Do you wanna go outside?, then why hide?"
Gen words made her mad which made her say.
''what do you know! You don't know anything! Go away!"
''your parents were pretty worried about you, the Queen... your mother were very sad, longing for you, and your father the king himself moved out of his throne just to ask your whereabouts desperately''
''they cling into the hope of you are still alive and fine, they felt guilt for not taking care of you properly however they are always observing you to lend a helping hand''
''however you vanished suddenly, and that made them feel sad as a parent, but I know you only did it for their sake, as you thought you're a taint on their blood and honor''
She felt her sadness and pain more, a feeling of regret , however she cannot do anything about it, therefore her tears came out from her purple eyes, as she already know that her parents would not leave her but she did on for them.
As Gen confirmed that Runa hate to her parents had cleared up, he started to go into the other problem, her power to be solved.
''is it because of your ability, controlling the deads?"
His words made her shock and scared, as she trembles she says.
''shut up! What do you know about me, this power it's not a gift but rather a curse, I'm not a princess nor a hero but a tainted Girl that no one would accept''
The sound of her voice were very cold and deep than before as she hated herself from having this ability and dark affinity.
''really? to me it's like a gift, how I would wish I could have that''
His words made Runa felt annoyed and grateful at the same time, as the words he said was what she wanted to hear, however those were not enough.
''what?, are you an idiot, what Gift about it, what so good about it. your just sugar-coating it!"
She said with an angry tone, however Gen asked.
''Are you afraid of darkness?"
''Yes! I hate it So much that I wish it did not exist!"
''then... please watch carefully ''
For the past several days Gen were looking for her and thought which is the best way to convince her, henceforth he got one answer, make her love darkness to be able to accept herself.
Gen casted his newly created magic made only for her, it was ''Darksanctuary'' a dark magic that shows how beautiful the darkness is paired with a little light, he raised one of his hands on his chest and said the incantation.
''dark sanctuary''
The princess were very cautious as Gen casted his magic however, the magic did not attacked her but rather it enveloped the whole building with darkness for a few seconds the whole building were enveloped, and made an astonishing scene made with the beautiful darkness.
swirling galaxies and countless glimmering stars started to appear from the illumination of shadows and day light, a scenery of the vast Space on their surroundings made from darkness which she once hated and feared.
She fell silent as she watched the darkness that she hated so much, has a beautiful side.
''so how was it?, princess Runa, I can use dark magic too''
His words made her feel not alone she yearned that maybe she wont be alone anymore, however she thought and said.
''its different''
She said with a silent tone, however it still made her happy.
''is it because you can control the deads, I think it's pretty cool though ''
His answer made her confused to just laugh or get mad therefore she asked.
''cool? Are you idiot, of course it's not, this ability is a curse ''
However Gen said.
''i'm not lying, it's the truth ''
Which made Runa angry but sees a glimmer of hope to be accepted.
''lies, your just lying''
''then since you can control the deads, why not turn me one to know if I were lying''
His words made Runa confused.
"How could I do that, I don't want to use this power''
Gen smiled with a little laugh and said.
''princess, everyone is not scared of darkness but Scared on what's inside it. your ability to control undeads is very helpful if you look at it on the better way''
For the first time a person finally accepted her of what she is which even she could not accept herself.
''a better way, I don't think there is one''
''really?, your ability to control the deads could help the lost souls Grant their wishes, it's also very useful as a powerhouse like an immortal bodyguard seems nice''
Hearing someone praised her dark ability made her happy and therefore for the first time of many years, she made an eye contact to a Person,
She saw Gen's dark hair, greeny eyes like an emerald, and a nice and cool face, that made her felt relief.
''you don't know anything''
However princess Runa is still hesitating and the fear of herself is still alive.
''princess Runa, it's not your power that will control you, but you are the one whos in control of your power''
He made a simple yet wise answer.
''remember, I asked you to turn me an undead but you did not, that means you can fully control your powers am I right''
He made such calm chill face with a little smile that made her felt calm.
''if you are still scared of darkness and your power, then I be with you, darkness can also gather together''
His words clearly got her heart, for a long time she felt warm from a person, and a person to trust to.
''w-would you... Really?"
A bit of hesitation but she wanted to cling into that hope, she thought even just one person would accept me, I would like to live.
''Sure, please call me just Gen, princess Runa''
He answered And reached his hand to her, for her this moment were something that she only dreamed of, A moment of dream come true.
She grabbed Gen's hand and he pulled her, wiping her tears,
''its okay now princess, I be with you, as your dark knight I suppose hehe, so don't be scared''
He made a little joke to lighten the mood which made Runa smile as she hear Gen saying I'm your dark knight, she knows Gen accept darkness, but it also made her flustered a little.
She followed Gen Going out to the abandoned building and going straight to the royal palace, she steel her hearth with the thought of with Gen.
For a very long time, she's now in front of the royal palace gate, which made her felt nervous and fear.
However, Gen patted her shoulder and said on a nice tone.
''you can do it, princess''
Which gave Runa the courage again, they entered the Palace, guiding her to her mothers room.
They arrived, and Gen knocked the queens door, and said.
''your majesty Queen, I arrive and brought your daughter back, happy reunion''
The Queen opened her door and saw Runa beside Gen, she jumped and hugged her deeply while on tears.
''my daughter, where have you been, your mothers missed you soon much, don't do that again"
Hearing this made Runa burst on tears and she cried hugging her mother.
As the moment were on such a drama, Gen leaves them alone giving them time and space.
''that was a wonderful scenery, I'm satisfied"
He informed the king of her daughter coming back and guided the king to their reunion.
The king deeply hugged Runa the same as Her older sister Luna and her brother Roza,
''i thought I won't be accepted, I'm sorry for running away''
Runa said with tears of joy, clinging to her mother.
''what are you saying, as if we could do that'' The queen answered wholeheartedly.
''i don't care what the church think of you, your our daughter Runa, as a father I will always protect you'' The king said truthfully.
He saw the whole royal family was very happy as their younger daughter is finally back, he stopped listening any further and gone to find Rein and Claude to inform them that their task is done.
''also a part of the real magic... is to change someone's pitiful story into a masterpiece , making their story beautiful that the gods would like to watch" Said Gen.
