Alex stood on the sandy beach in the Hunter's Nightmare — exactly at the place where the tragedy that claimed many lives had begun. It was on the shore of this very beach that Kos's body had been washed up. When Kos was thrown ashore, she was pregnant with her offspring, whom she wanted to give birth to in the real dimension. But all her plans were shattered when people hunting for the blood of such beings learned about it.
And before Kos's offspring could be born, her body was killed, and the unborn offspring was extracted from her womb and sent for experiments. At that very moment, Kos cursed everyone who had ruined her plans. Thanks to Kos's curse, the Nightmare dimension was created, with her unborn offspring at its core — the one nicknamed the Orphan of Kos.
Alex stood beside a deep pit in the sand while a violent storm raged in the sea, and the waves were large enough to cover the wooden masts of sunken ships. Deep in the pit lay the Orphan of Kos himself, who had ended up there after a brief clash with Alex.
Alex himself calmly looked down, waiting for the Orphan of Kos to climb out. During this short beating, Alex noticed that the Orphan of Kos's body was far more durable than that of the Amygdala. A moment later, with a thunderous crash, the Orphan of Kos burst out of the sand, soaring high into the sky. Alex raised his gaze to him.
The Orphan of Kos let out a strange howl, clutching the bony placenta with his long, thin arms. While squeezing the bony placenta, the Orphan of Kos began to fall downward like a meteorite. Seeing this, Alex instantly leaped backward so as not to be buried under the sand.
"Ugh, this is gonna be unpleasant," Alex said after jumping back, watching the Orphan of Kos's descent.
The moment Alex uttered these words, the sound of an explosion rang across the beach, as if a bomb had detonated under the sand. The Orphan of Kos slammed into the ground with such force that a massive wave of sand mixed with stones shot up, scattering in all directions. Maria, who was standing at a safe distance, immediately jumped back into the cave so that the wave of sand and stones wouldn't engulf her.
Thanks to her reaction, Maria was completely unharmed. However, the humanoid mollusks that had been praying at the entrance to the cave were killed by the flying stone fragments and died instantly. Stepping over the bodies of the humanoid mollusks and the stones, Maria exited the cave and saw a deep crater, in the center of which stood the Orphan of Kos.
Maria immediately began searching for Alex with her eyes — he had been closest to the epicenter of the impact. She found him very quickly — Alex was squatting at the edge of the crater, looking down. Maria saw Alex extend his hand to the side, and the Moonlight Sword immediately flew toward him.
"What's the point of playing with this rootless bastard…" — a lazy female voice sounded beside Maria.
Maria turned her gaze and saw a woman with long black hair, wearing red glasses and a red coat, lazily sitting on a chair with her cheek resting on her fist. Maria didn't understand where this woman had come from, but her instincts told her that she was extremely dangerous.
Looking at the unfamiliar woman, Maria felt a very cold presence behind her that literally squeezed her heart. Turning her head back, Maria saw another woman in a red dress from which blood was dripping, with extremely long black hair that reached her ankles and moved as if alive.
Maria looked at the second woman and felt a danger from her that she had never experienced before. When the woman turned her head, Maria met her bottomless black eyes, which seemed to absorb all the surrounding light. Zhang Ya looked at Maria, gave a slight nod, and then turned away. Maria instinctively nodded back, gripping Rakuyo tighter in her hands.
"You've become a little more interesting, girl…" — Alucard's cheerful voice sounded behind Maria.
Hearing the voice behind her, Maria's body tensed, and she instantly spun around, swinging Rakuyo. The blade of Rakuyo stopped a centimeter from Alucard's neck, which she halted simply by raising a finger. Maria stared directly into Alucard's red eyes, which seemed to look straight into her soul. That gaze made Maria's instincts scream with danger.
Maria didn't understand who these two women were, how they had appeared in this place, or why such a thick smell of blood surrounded them — a smell that caused intense unease. Alucard slightly narrowed her eyes, looking into Maria's gray ones, and calmly moved the Rakuyo blade away from her neck. Alucard lifted Maria's chin with her finger, forcing her to look directly into her eyes.
"Hm… Almost. You're still a bit boring, girl. But the fact that you're not afraid to look me in the eyes already makes you quite interesting," Alucard said, releasing Maria's chin.
"Who are you?" Maria asked, frowning and gripping the handle of Rakuyo tighter.
"Me? I'm one of my beloved's wives. Just like this silent one behind you… You don't have to be afraid — we won't do anything to you. Otherwise, someone would get very upset," Alucard said in a lazy tone.
Maria frowned and opened her mouth to ask a question. But the moment she did, Alucard poked her finger into Maria's forehead, pushing her backward. Maria barely kept her balance and took several steps back. And before she could process what was happening, Alex flew past them at high speed and crashed back-first into a rock.
Alex slammed back-first directly into the rock above the cave entrance, which instantly collapsed. Stones began falling from the cave ceiling, burying all the humanoid mollusks beneath them; they died with a disgusting sound of crushed bodies. Alex climbed out of the stone wall and lightly brushed the dust off his shoulder, holding the Moonlight Sword in his hands.
"For this delivery service, I give it one star," Alex said, shaking small stones out of his hair.
Hearing Alex's words, Alucard grinned while watching him brush himself off. Meanwhile, Maria was in complete shock at how quickly events were unfolding. After shaking off the dust, Alex looked at Alucard with an empty gaze, to which she simply smiled, showing that she hadn't done anything yet.
Alex's gaze shifted to Maria, who was looking at him with her gray eyes filled with shock. And the last person his eyes fell on was Zhang Ya, who was watching him with the same emotionless expression.
"Carmilla, behave… And don't touch Maria," Alex said, looking at Alucard with a calm gaze.
"I didn't do anything. You can ask your princess whom you saved from the tower. We just had a nice little chat, my love," Alucard said, running her nail along Alex's neck.
"I would have almost believed you if I didn't know what kind of person you are… Maria, when this is all over, I'll explain everything to you. Carmilla and Zhang Ya won't do anything to you," Alex said, looking at Alucard with an empty gaze before shifting his eyes to Maria.
Maria gave a slight nod, looking at Alex, then shifted her gaze to Alucard, who was standing behind him and hugging his neck from behind. In response to Maria's look, Alucard simply smiled, showing she wasn't planning to do anything. Seeing this, Alex just sighed and looked at Zhang Ya, silently asking her to keep an eye on Alucard.
Zhang Ya simply nodded, indicating she would watch over Maria. Stabbing the Moonlight Sword into the ground, Alex took out the Red Queen from his inventory. During this short battle with the Moonlight Sword, Alex realized that the new sword in his collection was about to break. So he decided to switch to a more durable weapon.
Twisting the accelerator on the Red Queen's handle, the blade emitted a roaring engine sound and spat out tongues of flame. Immediately after, Alex threw the Red Queen like a spear straight at the Orphan of Kos, who was regenerating his severed head. The glowing-hot blade of the Red Queen pierced the Orphan of Kos's chest, and he let out another screech filled with pain.
Alex instantly appeared beside the Orphan of Kos and grabbed the Red Queen's handle. Squeezing it, he twisted the accelerator. The Red Queen roared like an engine again, spitting flames and heating the blade even more. The blade grew so hot that the Orphan of Kos's flesh instantly blackened.
Gripping the Red Queen's handle with his second hand, Alex spun around, beginning to rotate the impaled Orphan of Kos. As he spun, Alex continued twisting the accelerator on the sword's handle, heating the blade even further. Alex suddenly stopped, and the Orphan of Kos slid off the blade, flying toward the raging sea engulfed in flames.
"Now step two. Turn the motherless bastard into a pincushion," Alex said, pulling out the iron saber that Simon had used from his inventory.
Alex flicked his hand to the side, and the iron saber with its curved blade transformed into an iron bow. He took out a black spear from his inventory. The black spear in Alex's hand began to change, turning into a long arrow. Alex nocked the black arrow onto the bowstring and began to draw it.
To prevent Simon's iron bow from breaking, Alex reinforced the weapon. Drawing the bowstring, Alex took a deep breath and exhaled a cloud of white steam. The arrowhead glowed with a bright blue light, creating a small hurricane around the tip that lifted the sand.
"With my bow and arrows, I pray for protection from the goddess of the moon, Artemis…" Alex began to recite the spell, aiming with the iron bow.
With each word of the spell Alex uttered, the energy at the tip of the black arrow concentrated more and more, forming a whirlpool that raised a sandstorm. At the center of the sandstorm itself stood Alex. The wind was so strong that a gust nearly carried Maria away.
And before Maria could grab onto anything, Zhang Ya's black hair wrapped around her body, holding her in place. Feeling something holding her, Maria lowered her gaze and saw the black hair coiled around her. Turning her head back, Maria looked at Zhang Ya and nodded in gratitude.
Zhang Ya merely cast a brief glance at Maria and then turned her gaze back to the storm. Alucard, standing nearby, watched with a wide smile on her face. She wanted to see how much destruction this arrow that Alex was about to release would cause.
The amount of mana gathering at the tip of the arrow became so great that the black arrow began to crack, as if it would break at any moment. Seeing what was happening, Alex stopped aiming at the Orphan of Kos, who had climbed out of the sea, and sharply raised the bow toward the sky.
"With this shot, I offer you this Catastrophe — the Catastrophe of Phoebus!!" Alex said, releasing the bowstring and firing the arrow into the sky.
The moment Alex released the string, a loud bang rang out, resembling an explosion, sending a shockwave in all directions. The black arrow, shining with blue light, flew high into the sky, reaching the very clouds. The arrow flying upward continued to break through air barriers, creating loud explosions that echoed across the area.
When the black arrow reached the clouds, a bright explosion thundered in the sky, scattering the clouds in all directions. The explosion from the released arrow was so powerful that the sky in the Hunter's Nightmare cracked, and through the cracks, shining stars and a round, bright moon glowing with soft moonlight could be seen. Maria froze in shock once again, staring at what had happened to the sky.
Even the Orphan of Kos, who had been running across the water toward Alex, froze in place, looking at the blue moon and stars in the cracked sky. A moment later, the stars in the sky began to move and fall downward, creating a mesmerizing meteor shower. The stars began to fall, and within moments, thousands of falling stars resembled arrows raining from the sky.
The first falling star in the shape of an arrow landed near the Orphan of Kos, causing a powerful explosion that hurled him aside. Another star fell, followed by the next. With each falling star, powerful explosions thundered in the sea, tossing the Orphan of Kos in different directions and inflicting terrible wounds on his body.
From the side, it looked like a massive bombardment of one section of the sea. The explosions raised tall waves, destroying sunken ships and everything around. When the meteor shower ended, the Orphan of Kos — of whom only the head and upper torso remained — floated up from the depths of the sea after the bombing.
"Maybe I overdid it a bit…" Alex said, folding the iron bow and returning it to its saber form.
"You think so, my love?" Alucard asked, looking at Alex with a mocking tone.
"Just a tiny bit… A very small amount," Alex said, showing with his fingers how much he had overdone the power.
"I wouldn't call it that…" Maria said quietly, standing between Alucard and Zhang Ya, still wrapped in black hair.
"That was still weak, Maria. The main thing is to rough up this bastard a little," Alex said in a carefree tone, waving his hand.
"Is this creature still alive? After that?" Maria asked, shifting her gaze to the sea after the bombardment.
"No, I don't think so," Alex said, shaking his head and looking at the sea.
Maria frowned at the fact that even after such an attack, the Orphan of Kos still hadn't died. She was sure that any other creature in his place would have long ceased to exist from such a bombing. And Maria was right in her thoughts, but what she didn't know was that Alex had deliberately held back so as not to kill the Orphan of Kos too early.
Meanwhile, the remains of the Orphan of Kos's body drifted in the sea. His empty eye sockets stared at the cloud-covered sky from which rain was pouring. Part of his face had been torn beyond recognition, exposing the skull bones. Almost his entire body was missing.
After the meteor shower, only the upper part of his torso above the stomach remained, the arm to which the placenta was attached had been completely destroyed up to the elbow, and from the second arm only a small stump remained. The Orphan of Kos's mind was not even a mind in the human sense.
He was like a newborn beast that realized only one thing: his mother had been taken from him. He didn't understand what kind of beings humans and Great Ones were, what the world was, or what this place was where he found himself. He didn't understand what emotions were, what revenge was, or whom he should take revenge on.
He was merely a beast that simply screamed from pain and loneliness. And this scream had become a curse for everyone involved in his fate. And in such a state, the Orphan of Kos felt something new, different from his previous sensations. This feeling was pain that pierced every particle of his being.
"Rise, my child… Rise…" a quiet female voice carried by the wind sounded.
When the quiet female voice reached the Orphan of Kos's ears, he turned his head toward the yellow luminary with dark veins. Not realizing to whom the voice actually belonged, the Orphan of Kos let out a scream of pain so powerful that a shockwave formed around him.
The shockwave from the Orphan of Kos's scream was so strong that the sea parted in all directions, and the space around began to crack like broken glass. The remains of the Orphan of Kos's body began to glow with a bright red light. And then another explosion with a shockwave followed, destroying everything around.
Alex, standing on the shore, saw what was happening to the Orphan of Kos and therefore drew Yamato. Using his magical vision, Alex saw that the Orphan of Kos had established a connection with his mother Kos and had gained enormous power capable of destroying this space. Alucard, Maria, and Zhang Ya watched as the space above the sea became covered with cracks, through which impenetrable darkness was visible.
Maria shifted her gaze to Alex, and he simply raised his hand, showing that he would handle it. Maria wanted to say something but noticed that Alucard and Zhang Ya were watching what was happening with calm faces. Seeing that no one was showing concern about the situation, Maria could only fall silent. She understood that this was not a situation she could interfere in.
Gripping Yamato in his hands, Alex took a step and appeared in the middle of the sea where the Orphan of Kos was. Alex found himself near a deep whirlpool, in the center of which stood the Orphan of Kos, with water swirling around him, repelled by the red energy circling the Orphan of Kos.
Alex noticed that the Orphan of Kos had restored his body, become much taller, and even grown wings on his back. And the bony placenta that the Orphan of Kos used as a weapon now looked more like a red fleshy mace, which he clutched in his hand.
When Alex appeared, the Orphan of Kos immediately noticed him and let out a loud scream. The Orphan of Kos jumped high into the sky, and the sea immediately collapsed, creating new waves. The Orphan of Kos soared high using his wings and then dove downward.
Gaining speed, the Orphan of Kos swung his fleshy mace straight at Alex. Alex stood on the water in the middle of the sea and watched the Orphan of Kos rushing toward him. Alex calmly raised Yamato to block the fleshy mace strike. The fleshy mace and scabbard collided in the air, and the space around Alex and the Orphan of Kos cracked and distorted.
"You've become stronger, you little bastard. But still just as ugly," Alex said, looking at the Orphan of Kos, who continued pressing down with his fleshy mace.
In response to Alex's words, the Orphan of Kos let out a loud screech, causing the space around them to crack even more. The cracked space had no effect on Alex; with a light movement, he pushed the Orphan of Kos away using the scabbard, and the creature slid across the water. Sliding on the water, the Orphan of Kos suddenly braked and immediately leaped toward Alex, swinging his fleshy mace.
At the last moment, Alex dodged, and the fleshy mace only grazed Alex's afterimage. Alex continued dodging every swing of the Orphan of Kos, still holding Yamato in his hands. The Orphan of Kos swung his fleshy mace, continuing to screech and hitting only Alex's afterimages.
Alex kept dodging while the Orphan of Kos continued attacking. Until suddenly the Orphan of Kos froze in place, and the fleshy mace stopped a centimeter from Alex's face. Alex calmly looked at the frozen fleshy mace near his face and simply took a step to the side.
"You're quite strong for a mongrel. But a mongrel is still a mongrel," Alex said in a calm tone, lighting a cigarette.
The moment Alex finished speaking, the Orphan of Kos's entire body became covered with numerous thin cuts, from which blood began to flow. And a moment later, the Orphan of Kos's body was sliced into small pieces, including the fleshy mace he had been holding. The pieces of the Orphan of Kos's body fell into the sea, slowly sinking underwater.
Exhaling cigarette smoke, Alex stepped back and appeared twenty meters away from where the pieces of the body had sunk. The moment Alex disappeared, a water pillar rose at the spot where he had been standing, reaching the clouds. Water droplets began falling like rain from the sky, hitting the surface around Alex and flowing back into the sea. Taking another drag from his cigarette, Alex raised his gaze to the top of the water pillar, and his eyes focused on the Orphan of Kos.
The Orphan of Kos had transformed once again, and now, in addition to wings, thin, slime-covered tentacles resembling mollusk tentacles protruded from his back. The appendages on the Orphan of Kos's back moved slowly, almost hypnotically. At the tips of the tentacles were small bristles resembling sea urchin spines, from which a viscous, murky liquid dripped.
"Why do all these kinds of creatures always grow tentacles… Why always tentacles. I hate tentacles," Alex said, grimacing as he looked at the Orphan of Kos, who was hovering high in the sky.
Alex understood that he definitely wouldn't get an answer, and certainly not from the Orphan of Kos. The Orphan of Kos let out another screech, and the tentacles on his back suddenly shot toward Alex. In flight, the tentacles began to split, and soon there were over a hundred of them. Alex saw a hundred white tentacles rushing toward him at high speed.
Throwing away his cigarette, Alex leaped to the side, dodging the swarm of tentacles, not wanting to have anything to do with such a thing. The tentacles slammed into the sea surface, raising a pillar of water. Alex merely snorted contemptuously as the same tentacles rushed toward him from behind the water curtain.
Pursing his lips, Alex jumped back, dodging another tentacle strike. Alex continued leaping across the water, dodging the tentacles that began attacking him from all sides. Gripping Yamato in his hands, Alex carefully watched every tentacle and sharply jumped back when a dozen tentacles burst out from under the water right beneath his feet.
"Ah, this brings back old memories. It's been a while since I had such a disgusting enemy," Alex said, jumping over the tentacles that appeared beside him.
Continuing to dodge, Alex shifted his gaze to the Orphan of Kos, who was hovering high in the sky. Alex stopped dodging and stood still. At that very moment, tentacles flew toward him from all sides, completely cutting off any chance of evasion.
With a contemptuous smile, Alex exhaled a cloud of white steam, and his body became covered in lightning. Just as the sharp needles at the tips of the tentacles were about to pierce Alex's body, he disappeared from his spot with a thunderous boom, leaving a trail of lightning behind.
Using the Thunder Breathing technique, Alex instantly crossed part of the sea and leaped upward, leaving a streak of lightning in his wake. After jumping, Alex found himself at the same level as the Orphan of Kos, who was hovering in the sky. At the same height as the Orphan of Kos, Alex grabbed the handle of Yamato and assumed the stance for drawing the blade.
"Attention, your head is about to spin," Alex said, looking at the Orphan of Kos.
After finishing speaking, Alex slightly unsheathed Yamato's blade and immediately sheathed it again. The click of the blade returning to the scabbard sounded, and at that same moment, the space at the level of the Orphan of Kos's neck was sliced and slightly shifted to the side. The space instantly restored itself, and the Orphan of Kos raised his hand, preventing his head from falling. At that same moment, the swarm of white tentacles flew toward Alex's back.
Seeing this, Alex grinned and, with a spinning motion, struck the Orphan of Kos's chin with the scabbard. The severed head of the Orphan of Kos, which had almost reattached to the neck, flew upward with a disgusting sound of tearing flesh, while the torso began falling into the sea. The swarm of white tentacles with sharp spikes on the ends failed to reach Alex and began falling into the water after the torso. Alex watched as the Orphan of Kos's head spun in the sky, slowly falling downward.
"And what's next? Phase four?" Alex asked, landing on the surface of the sea.
Alex had already realized that the Orphan of Kos was much stronger than his counterpart in the game. But this didn't worry Alex at all; he simply needed to lure out Kos herself, who was connected to her child and continued to fuel his power.
Alex lit a cigarette and lowered his gaze to the sea surface, which was far too calm in the current situation. Looking at the water surface, Alex noticed ripples beginning to form on it. Jumping back once again, Alex watched as the Orphan of Kos leaped out from under the seawater.
The new Orphan of Kos had become even larger, but different. His body had become semi-transparent and jelly-like, with smoothly undulating parts resembling a jellyfish.
There were even more tentacles on his back, with bioluminescent tips along which arcs of electricity ran. The wings on his back had turned into large fins with transparent membranes resembling sea angel wings, through which electric charges also ran.
"In which direction are you evolving… What the hell is even happening?" Alex shouted, trying to understand the reason for the Orphan of Kos's evolution.
And once again, in response to Alex's question, the Orphan of Kos let out a loud scream. And together with the Orphan of Kos's scream, storm clouds began to gather in the sky, with lightning and thunder running through them. Alex raised his gaze to the sky and began to suspect that the Orphan of Kos's evolution depended on how he had died.
Alex tried to figure it out, but his train of thought was interrupted by a lightning strike directly where he stood. Alex leaped to the side, stroking his chin, as a thick pillar of lightning struck the sea surface. Looking at the sky once again, Alex clicked his tongue.
Once again, Alex began dodging — this time from lightning bolts that rained down from the sky like hail. While dodging, Alex felt a presence behind him and sharply turned around, pointing his finger backward. Behind Alex appeared the Orphan of Kos, whose tentacles covered in slime and electricity rushed toward Alex's back. A blue sphere appeared at the tip of Alex's finger, which instantly attracted the tentacles and ground them into tiny particles.
"Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue," Alex said, directing the blue sphere toward the Orphan of Kos.
The blue sphere flew from Alex's finger, heading toward the Orphan of Kos and pulling everything toward itself like a black hole. The blue sphere spun at such speed, drawing everything in, that seawater instantly evaporated upon entering the attraction radius, creating a hot cloud of steam. When the blue sphere reached the Orphan of Kos, it was no longer blue — it was a small black hole that absorbed and distorted everything around it, stretching space itself.
The jellyfish-like body of the Orphan of Kos began to be drawn into the small black hole, folding and stretching his body. The Orphan of Kos felt himself being pulled somewhere and immediately began to resist, trying to escape the pull. The jellyfish-like flesh began to tear as he tried to flee.
And with the sound of tearing flesh, the Orphan of Kos managed to escape the small black hole, losing half of his body. The Orphan of Kos lost an arm, part of his torso, and a leg, which were sucked into the black hole. The wounded areas on the Orphan of Kos's body began to bubble and regenerate. And while the Orphan of Kos's body was regenerating, lightning struck even more furiously from the sky to drive Alex as far away as possible. Each lightning strike was accompanied by a thunderous explosion that echoed across the entire area.
"This is starting to get annoying," Alex said, dodging the lightning strikes.
While dodging the lightning, Alex never took his eyes off the Orphan of Kos, who was regenerating his lost limbs. Continuing to dodge, Alex made a sudden forward dash, evading every lightning bolt that struck from the sky. Just as he was almost beside the Orphan of Kos, Alex quickly pulled a steel rod from his inventory and threw it into the sky.
At that same moment, a bright lightning bolt from the sky struck the thrown steel rod, and Alex appeared next to the Orphan of Kos. Once beside him, Alex clenched his fist, and the Beowulf gauntlet appeared on his hand. Before the Orphan of Kos could react, Alex delivered a powerful uppercut straight into the Orphan of Kos's stomach.
The fist collided with the jellyfish-like flesh of the Orphan of Kos, and a shockwave spread across the area, sweeping away the dark clouds in the sky and raising tall waves. From the impact, the Orphan of Kos's body exploded into small pieces that fell into the water. Lowering his fist, Alex removed the Beowulf gauntlet and reached for a cigarette.
"He's not going to turn into some giant sea monster after that, is he?" Alex said, lighting the cigarette.
The moment Alex lit the cigarette and exhaled the smoke into the sky, a loud rumble spread across the area, indicating the appearance of something enormous. The sea began to rage even more violently after the rumble. Alex sighed heavily and slapped his forehead. He was already tired of killing the Orphan of Kos just to draw out Kos herself.
Instead, he had to deal with a constantly evolving Orphan of Kos who refused to die. The rumbling in the sea grew louder and louder with every moment. And a moment later, a colossal creature, comparable in size to a mountain, emerged from under the water.
Alex exhaled cigarette smoke and raised his gaze upward, looking at the colossus that had risen from beneath the sea. The colossal creature that emerged from under the seawater was covered in a shell of shells and corals, with numerous eyes and mouths scattered across its entire body.
There were even more tentacles on the creature's back, and they had become multi-layered and covered with sharp coral-like growths. The wings on its back had turned into enormous fins with sharp edges that flapped, raising a strong wind. The creature's face resembled the head of an octopus and a jellyfish with bright red eyes.
"You've got to be fucking kidding me… What kind of demo version of Cthulhu is this," Alex said in an irritated tone.
To be continued...
(I was thinking about ending this battle in this chapter. But as usual, the voices in my head started whispering about what I should have done differently. After all, Orphan Kos only had two phases in the game, and they were boring as hell. But making this mongrel evolve is much more interesting. Heck, Alex still killed him with one hit. But he's Alex. He's the Demon King, after all. Anyway, I don't remember, I think I wrote that Kos was bad. But I think I should change my plans. And spread the beans a little... Ahem, the plot. Instead of making Kos bad, I'll go a different route. Why create more villains? That's just plain gross. Basically, I spoiled what I want to do with Kos, but I didn't explain everything. You'll find out in the next chapter, unless I change my plans again. Peace, love, and screw the tentacles.)
