Chapter 9 - Kai's plan

Early the next morning, John Li's phone kept vibrating. When he opened it, dozens of messages were sent by Kai.

"Leo, I also want a big model, a big one!"

"The big model is the truth!"

"Why didn't I think of it before?"

"Leo, I want a big one, how about a two-meter one?"

"I'm going crazy, Harry has come to remind me, I don't want to give it to him!"

"But my boss has to contact Osborne, shit!"

...

John Li didn't understand, "What's wrong? Isn't it just a metal model? It was put in five days ago. Why did you send me a message today?"

He couldn't fathom the hearts of model enthusiasts like Kai. For Kai, he loved models more than women, which was a bit concerning.

Kai kept stroking the exquisite Gundam in the car, his soul trembling from time to time. The flying feeling made the onlookers leave with interest.

"No problem, Kai, what do you want, but one meter and five is almost the same, if it's higher, it's too much!" John Li replied indifferently.

Kay sent the pictures that he had prepared long ago and paid $50,000 directly. "Leo, this model is really wonderful. Make it as soon as possible. It will be completed in three days. I will add $50,000 to your payment!"

John Li was surprised when he saw this news. Kai should be the first senior model player he knew. After buying the first model from him, he kept coming back, having already purchased forty or fifty. A small all-metal model cost tens of thousands of dollars.

He also knew how obsessed Kai was with models, often wanting to meet John Li, but being rejected. So, Kai took the initiative to provide the metal and strictly followed the rules without installing a camera.

"Okay, I will try my best!" After John Li finished speaking, he put his phone aside. After all, making models was just a source of money. Doing enough was enough; there was no need to overexert himself.

He packed his school bag, ready to go to school.

Meanwhile, Kai was still in the truck bed, stroking the model and unable to contain his excitement.

A burly man with sunglasses hurried over and asked the younger brother standing by, "Where is Kai?"

"In the car, in the car."

The burly man kicked the truck bed hard. "Kai, come out for me!"

"Boss, why are you here?" Kai walked down reluctantly, somewhat surprised.

"Shit, because of that knife incident, Sisk's trail has been exposed. If I don't leave, I'll be in trouble!"

As soon as Crowe mentioned this, he smashed the sunglasses in his hand. "Hurry up and follow me to Osborne's. We need to see if I can pick up Osborne's medicines and weapons. The waters in New York are too deep; I should do this regardless. We're finished here. Tomorrow, we're heading back to Africa. Stark Industries will provide us with weapons. Selling weapons there is more profitable than in New York!!!"

"And Wakanda's people have contacted me again. Seems like there's a big deal this time, so I won't be staying in New York!" Crowe walked to a tall Hummer. "Let's go, to Osborne Company!"

Kai was taken aback. My model isn't ready yet; I want a big model!

...

At night, Crowe was pondering the idea of vanadium metal when he saw Kai walking by.

"Boss, if you want to keep someone in New York, I can stay!"

"No need, everything's arranged, especially with Stark Industries. Though the price is a bit higher, their goods are top-notch. Those old ****s will definitely like it! Gram Industries' rockets are manufactured well."

Kai was also curious. "The world-famous Stark Industries is willing to sell to us. Tony Stark doesn't seem as bad as he appears on TV!"

"Who deals with Stark? I'm dealing with Obadai; he's a well-known arms dealer in our circle. I heard he's also got a deal going with those people in Afghanistan, so negotiations are smooth! By the way, why do you want to stay?"

"I ordered a large model. It may take a few days to complete, and I want to take it back!" Kai said honestly. After all, everyone knew his hobby!

"FK, I've got so many women on the boat, and you're still playing with those models! Just bring that guy with you! He can make models for you in the future!" Crowe cursed and drove Kai away.

Kai's eyes lit up. Damn it, that's right! Instead of taking Leo directly, I could keep him around to make models just for me in the future.

After two years in New York, I almost forgot I was a bad guy.

He took out his phone. "Leo, I've prepared a big surprise for you. It's already in the warehouse. Come get it tomorrow!"

...

John Li, who was still practicing, felt his phone vibrate, his hands not missing a beat.

The phone floated over, and upon seeing the message, without much thought, he replied, "Okay!"

He continued absorbing the metal. The progress on the copper skin had already reached 14%, and it seemed hopeful to reach 15% by the end of the day.

Early the next morning, observing the slow progress of the copper skin and the residue of nine broken metal rods around him, he sighed helplessly.

"The progress isn't too slow, but compared to the efficiency of that gold-titanium alloy, it's a bit frustrating!"

"By the way, why would Kai send me this kind of news? It's strange. Could it really be a surprise for me, or is it something else, like high-grade metal?"

John Li pondered the high-quality materials that had been mentioned several times before.

But doubts lingered in his mind. "Alright, I'll check it out after school. Hopefully, Kay isn't deceiving me!"

Around noon, Kai arrived with seven younger brothers at the small warehouse. Each one wore a pistol at their waist, with Kai even holding an Uzi submachine gun in hand, playing with a metal figure ten centimeters tall.

"Brother Kai, are we really going to kill the modeler?" One younger brother asked casually from the side.

Kai's eyes widened, and he swung the metal man in his hand at the young man, the slightly sharp metal base striking the younger brother's head.

Blood splattered, staining Kai's face. The younger brother was knocked to the ground instantly. After a few twitches, he passed out, blood pooling around his head.

Kai stared fiercely at the six remaining people around him. "I told you!! The plan was to take him away, not kill him. No shooting allowed, got it?!"

"Yes, yes!" The remaining six younger brothers replied nervously.

They had heard tales of this model fanatic under Crowe for a long time, but they hadn't expected him to be so extreme—he'd kill if he didn't agree with you. So, best to stay quiet!

Kai paid no mind to them. He wiped the model clean, his mind still on his thoughts.

"When Leo's tied up, I'm definitely going to get him to make me a two-meter model—awesome!"

Lost in his thoughts, Kai trembled slightly, a smile of obsession on his face, albeit with bloodstains, making it somewhat sinister.

Around four o'clock, John Li arrived at the alley near the small warehouse once more. Unexpectedly, he sensed a small surveillance camera set up in the corner of the wall.

Frowning, he instantly distorted the camera into a small ball. Simultaneously, the screen of the computer in the hands of one of the younger brothers in the warehouse flickered and went black.

The younger brother, who had been dozing off, suddenly woke up. Glancing at the computer, he hurriedly said, "Brother Kai! The surveillance feed is down! Someone might be coming!"

Kai had been lost in thoughts about bringing back a set of life-sized models and sealing people inside them for more excitement, but the younger brother interrupted his fantasies.

He picked up the nearby gun, his hand trembling, and said with a shaky smile.

"Hurry, Boss Crow's boat is waiting at the pier already. Let's get Leo tied up and ready. I'm getting excited!"

John Li had already sensed that something was amiss. His eyes blinked, a faint golden light appearing. Through the walls, he saw the scene inside the warehouse.
