Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: The Cabin In The Woods

After Brom left, I made my way to my magical barrier that I had set up and I was glad that I knew where the village was as I also knew where Garrow's farm was. I decided to take down the barrier and grab my suitcase that I had hidden under some leaves.

I had a plan to make my cabin close to the edge of the woods so it was visible to the villagers if they looked into the woods and made it closer to Eragon's farm than the village.

I looked around at the nearby trees and knew that I had all the materials I'd need.

I made liberal use of the cutting charm to cut down a large amount of trees until there was a decently large empty area that would make a small clearing in the middle of the forest.

I cut the trees into logs and levitated them into position for the log cabin I would create.

I spent the better part of the day building the cabin and I had never been more glad that I had access to magic due to how long it'd take without it.

I was also glad for my knowledge of Sorcery as if there is one thing with Sorcery that is miles better than Wizardry, it's transformation magic.

With Wizardry, Transfiguration is almost never permanent, which is why one can't just transfigure a table into a pizza and eat it as it would eventually morph back into the table inside the Wizard's body most likely killing them if they can't act fast enough.

Unless Alchemy is used as that can help reinforce the magic in a way, then you can have lasting magical effects. Runes work similarly but still degrade over time, it just takes a very long time or if the Runes are fully drained of magic.

Sorcery on the other hand, all transmutation spells are permanent until they are physically changed back by the caster.

This allowed me to transform the leftover logs into furnishing inside my cabin.

I made a semi-modern couch, a bathtub, recliner chair, a carpet for the floor, end tables, dressers, a bed, and bathroom sink with a charm that allows water to be created.

To make it less suspicious, I had created a series of wooden tubes that led from the bathroom to outside where I had used Aquamenti to form a small pond where the water would come from.

This was all pretty much what could be created or found within a house in this time period, with the exception of the recliner, but I still made it appear handmade.

After I was done with the living room area, a few liberal casts of the expansion charm and now I have a nice little 1 story, two bedroom, one bath cabin. I also realized that I didn't want to just walk on the wooden floor, no matter how good I made it, so I "borrowed" a rug from a nearby house, copied it and put the original back.

I transmutated the rug from a small oval rug into a huge square carpet like rug covering all the areas I'd be in except the kitchen which I had created with a wood burning stove with all that bells and whistles.

I felt it was enough so I went to the second bedroom which was filled with a large table and a chair with research notes all over the table about different specs, both original Wizarding and Sorcery spells I had attempted creating, and combined spells from both magic systems that would improve upon their separate spells.

Before I got to into my magical studies, I created the wards I needed for my home which protected my cabin and warned me if anyone was attempting to enter it.

After everything was done and I had the ward stones in my pocket to warn me if anything happened, I enlarged my shrunken trunk that I took from my jacket pocket and climbed down into my workshop and pseudo miniature world.

A lot has changed over the 50 years as I never stopped improving it.

It was far larger than Newt Scamanders suitcase but I had just the same variety of areas, but they were for different things as the only magical creatures I currently had were a unicorn, a two headed elephant that had grown to be the same size a normal earth elephant, a few Fairies, and I was able to get some talking trees.

I was glad to discover that the Stardust world I was in had more magical creatures than I thought as it was influenced mostly by the movie but had elements of the book as well.

I only had two Unicorns, one was an Injured unicorn I'd saved from poachers and her baby they had lived protected in my forest with plenty of things for them to do as I had expanded the suitcase more and more every year.

The fairies are mischievous creatures that like to steal things, a few had gotten into my cabin one day as Seraphina had left the door open.

It took some time before I had realized that the things I had misplaced were not in fact misplaced, but stolen. I had found the Fairy nest which was filled with my stuff and I ended up making copies and taking the originals and I brought their entire nest into the forest I had created in my suitcase.

The talking trees are not what I expected, I first found this chatty copper birch tree, she was a former wood nymph who'd turned herself into a tree to escape a lusful prince.

I told her I could take her into the forest in my suitcase, but she said she'd rather stay where she was, but did introduce me to 3 other talking trees, not nearly as chatty, but they were willing to leave the forest as they were tired of seeing their family and friends being chopped up to be used by the humans.

It was only a little bit after that meeting that I realized the copper birch tree was the same tree that helped Tristan in the book

I brought them into the budding forest I had built in the suitcase which the nymphs loved and used their powers to grow the trees and said they'd spend all their time growing the forest as much as they could for me as long as I didn't chop any of the trees down and brought many creatures to live in their forest.

I had no problem with that as I had no need to steel wood from inside my suitcase when they exist in the outside world and I can even create them if I want.

Other than these magical creatures, I didn't have any others, but over the years in the Sorcerer's Apprentice world, I brought many normal animals into my magical forest and they had propagated plenty over time.

I got both carnivores and herbivores as they needed to be meat for the carnivores and they were cute.

Regardless of all the changes, I kept my own area where I lived and studied in an entirely different area than where the animals and creatures were.

They were kept safe an protected with barriers and wards so I wouldn't bother them and they wouldn't bother me. I would sometimes still visit the trees to talk and had even introduced them to Sun Lok.

Speaking of Sun Lok, per his request I created entire areas, with his help, that were centered around eastern culture as he said it helped him to feel more at home.

I stayed at my cabin that was in the center of a huge grass field with flower fields scattered throughout and I would sometimes sit and watch them move in the wind.

It was all very peaceful and incidentally the perfect area to practice flying which I did with both a broom and my hoverboard.

I had a smaller cabin in a mountainous area that had been where I practiced transmutation, combat spells, Dark magic, and all manner of more destructive things.

(2 days later)

As I was getting ready to visit the trees, I sensed something, the wards I had created in my workshop for the Dragon egg.

I quickly Apparated to my workshop and saw the egg shaking, it was finally time for me to meet my dragon and fully become a dragon rider.
