The three Legendary Birds didn't stay too long. After hovering in the sky above Celadon City for a while, they took one last deep look at Ash and then flew away in different directions.
Ash watched them leave and thought to himself that they would definitely meet again someday. By then, without these external factors interfering, he would challenge and capture them fairly.
Celadon City had returned to calm, but the police were still very busy because there were many Team Rocket members remaining throughout the city.
Those were all the ones who had been defeated, and Giovanni and his team hadn't taken them when they retreated.
With so many people, it would have been absolutely impossible to take them all. Including those who had been defeated by Ash at Silph Company, all were now being arrested by the police.
This situation could be considered a terrorist attack, and many locations throughout the city had also suffered considerable damage.
Fortunately, for a wealthy and developed city like Celadon City, this level of damage wasn't too serious.
Ash and his group made their way to the Pokémon Center and gathered together. Lance expressed his gratitude to Ash, but didn't stay long.
He immediately left to track down Team Rocket, and the other three Elite Four members who were originally expected to arrive here also changed their objectives after receiving the news, hoping to intercept Giovanni.
Back at the Pokémon Center, Ash left all his Pokémon in Nurse Joy's care, checked into a room, and said goodnight to the others.
Then he returned to his room. He was indeed quite tired from the day, especially after using the bond phenomenon.
Although it wasn't the same as when he first used it with Pikachu, he still felt mentally drained. He had been battling all day and then through the entire night.
After taking a shower and drying his hair, Ash collapsed onto the bed and fell asleep immediately. Everyone could see how exhausted Ash looked and didn't disturb him.
He slept all day and didn't wake up until evening, only to discover that Pikachu and Jigglypuff had been sleeping beside his bed for some time. They had obviously come here on their own.

Ash looked at them sleeping snuggled together, couldn't help but smile, and gently reached out to pet them.

"Is it already evening?" He checked the time and saw it was dinner time. He hadn't eaten anything since meeting Officer Jenny yesterday, having been engaged in intense battles the whole time.
Ash felt quite hungry, so he got up, put on his clothes, and left the room with Pikachu and Jigglypuff.
When he arrived at the restaurant and was about to find a seat to eat, he heard a voice calling out.
"Ash! Over here!"
Hearing the call, he turned around and saw a table near the wall where Misty and the others were sitting.
Upon seeing them, Ash immediately walked over. Brock, Misty, Green, and Sabrina were all there. Ash approached everyone and sat down, looked around, then asked.
"Where's Gary?" He was a bit confused when he couldn't spot Gary anywhere.
"Gary said he would get a head start while you were resting, so he left at noon!" Green smiled after hearing his question.
Ash was slightly surprised after hearing this, but it was definitely Gary's style. He smiled without saying anything and picked up his fork to eat the food on the table.
"Ash, are you alright?" Misty asked with some concern.
"I'm fine! I feel much better now!"
Ash shook his head after hearing her question. He had been tired earlier, but after resting, his condition felt even better than before.
"By the way, what was that evolution? It was the same when you battled me."
Sabrina couldn't help but ask. After all, they were all unfamiliar with Mega Evolution. Ash fell silent after hearing this question.
"I'm not sure about this myself so far! I want to contact Professor Sycamore again to find out!"
Just like with Pikachu previously, a similar situation had occurred when he faced a crisis, but if it was Mega Evolution...
It was different from what Professor Sycamore had explained—that you need a Mega Stone and a Key Stone. So far, only Pikachu and Charizard could form this kind of connection with him.
Even Ash himself couldn't figure it out, so naturally the others stopped asking questions. They all finished dinner together, and then Ash went to the front desk to collect his other Pokémon.
Everyone else returned to their rooms. Although it wasn't as intense as Ash's experience, they were still exhausted from the entire day.
Ash went to the videophone and dialed Professor Sycamore's laboratory number again. It seemed to be lunchtime there, and the Professor wasn't busy, so he answered the call himself.
"This is Professor Sycamore's Laboratory, how may I... Oh? It's Ash! Long time no see!"
When he saw Ash on screen, Professor Sycamore paused for a moment and then greeted him warmly.
"Long time no see, Professor!"
"Calling at this time—do you have some new discovery to share?"
Every time Ash contacted him, there was new information, so Professor Sycamore looked forward to their conversations.
"Yes! It's about my Charizard..."
Ash nodded slightly and then explained the situation. Professor Sycamore listened, and the expression on his face became increasingly incredulous.
Afterward, Professor Sycamore pulled out a picture of Charizard's Mega Evolution and confirmed it with Ash again, then looked extremely surprised.
"This is indeed one of Charizard's Mega Evolution forms."
"During our research on Mega Evolution, we made an incredible discovery—that Charizard has two different Mega Evolution forms!"
Professor Sycamore produced another picture, which also showed an evolved form of Charizard, but it was very different from Ash's Charizard's evolved form.
The Mega Evolution in this other picture maintained the same orange body color as a regular Charizard, though the wing structure and horn placement on the head had changed significantly, along with various other detailed modifications.
In comparison, Ash's Charizard's evolved form had undergone much more dramatic changes.
