Before they could realize, the masked one came to be behind the pulpit and removed his gloves. Beneath the gloves were large, scarred hands. Only his fingers were free of the thick scars that had been raised several inches above the skin. Facing his palms up and raising them, his sleeves fell down, revealing a solid mass of scar tissue that became thicker and thicker as one traced his arm from wrist to shoulder, and as he raised his hands, the sun roared louder and louder before he began his deep chant.
