Chapter 43
The Harasser
One hour ago
Sam and his father were afraid of being disturbed by fans, so Huge asked the driver to take them directly to the hospital. It was only nine o'clock in the evening, and the canteen stayed open until midnight, so the father and son planned to eat and drink there.
The driver watched Sam and his father teasing each other and joking along the way, which made him think that Hoang Kim had woken up. But Sam shook his head to deny it.
The driver was afraid that Sam would lose interest, so he didn't dare to ask more questions. He turned the steering wheel and changed direction, and the car drove past the dormitory. Sam saw a familiar figure being dragged by someone, and he immediately told the driver to stop the car. The driver braked. Huge asked what was going on. Sam squinted at the sidewalk:
- Does the girl wearing a mask look familiar?
Huge looked at the slender figure, shoulder-length hair, and a serious business suit. That was the outfit the girl had worn to the hospital earlier. The father and son looked at each other and blurted out:
- Hanna!
Sam was furious at the bastard who dared to harass a decent girl. He opened the car door in anger. Huge had to pull his son back and remind him:
- Calm down, we don't know who he is yet. Don't act rashly!
Sam tilted his head toward Hanna. She struggled, shaking off the harasser's hand, but he still clung to her cheekily.
- You let him grope and harass her before interfering, old man?
The old father clicked his tongue:
- You must go over there silently. Don't scream, or he'll run away. Ask who it is, understand?
Sam snorted and crossed the road quietly. He was about to reach them when a motorcycle appeared in the distance and sped toward Hanna's position. The person sitting on the back of the motorbike was holding a bottle of water, and the liquid inside rippled gently. That figure stared fixedly at Hanna.
Sam had a premonition that something bad was going to happen. He accelerated at full speed in panic. When he was ten steps away from Hanna, he flew forward like an arrow, curled up his body, and rushed at the moment the person holding the bottle splashed water at Hanna. Sam shouted in fear:
- Careful!
He hugged Hanna's waist, and they fell to one side. The harasser also hurriedly dodged. Losing the target, the water soaked the ground. Sam stared at a pile of debris on the slowly corroding brick floor. Several tree trunks nearby were bubbling with white foam. He panicked and asked Hanna:
- Are you okay?
The harasser shuddered, broke out in a cold sweat, got up, and ran away. The person who threw the acid wanted to continue splashing, but realized that Sam was the one who had rescued Hanna. Huge also rushed over. In another corner, several people ran in at high speed. They were terrified and urged each other to flee. In the distance, two people on a motorcycle chased the perpetrator.
Sam guessed they were plainclothes policemen protecting witnesses. He was even angrier because they were too slow. He got up and chased after those who dared to violate his future sister-in-law. He screamed loudly, causing chaos in the street:
- The old man protects Hanna! - Sam was faster than a missile - Damn you bunch of dogs, Daddy will break all your necks!
He screamed as if he himself had been splashed with acid, ferociously cursing at passers-by:
- Damn it, get out of my way!
The public had never seen Sam so angry. Even when he heard about Hoang Kim's accident, he hadn't gone crazy and run wildly through the traffic, ignoring his own safety and the lives of others.
Sam shouted so loudly that it echoed in the sky. No matter who it was—civilians, villains, even gangsters—none dared to stand in his way. Wherever he went, people automatically stepped aside.
The God teased again and sent a container truck across the street. The culprits were happier than if their dead father had resurrected. They sped past the front of the container truck on their motorbike and vanished into the night.
Sam lowered his body and slid under the container truck, but the perpetrator had vanished. Sam roared louder than a wounded beast, punching the container and denting it.
The driver got out to settle the score with the destructive guy. But seeing Sam's face—black, gray, and distorted beyond recognition—the driver trembled as if he had seen a ghost, panicked, apologized, then quickly got back in and drove away.
People dared not approach the evil spirit, no one said anything to anyone, they all stayed away. People did not understand what animal had bitten Sam, causing him to go crazy dog blood and rush to the dormitory. He did not see Hanna and Huge. Sam found around anxiously, called their names but no one answered. There were only security guards team and a few tenants around, one of whom was a girl of Hanna's age.
In contrast to the petite Hanna, the girl was tall and full. The fiery measurements burned the eyes, the proud, tight, round, graceful and full curves were raised in the places where redundancy was needed. Where it needed to fit, it was slim and fair. Sam didn't have time to check out the girl; he didn't bother looking at the fierce beauty who left an indelible mark on others. The girl ran to say that Hanna and Huge had followed the police to the police station.
- Police wanted to protect witnesses and record statements.
Sam ran to the police station, mumbled curses:
- Damn it, protect the cage!
Sam ran into the police station to find Hanna. He yelled and cursed, so Phuong Hoang and the "villain" Kim had to go out and deal with it. The female police officer advised him to stay calm. Sam didn't listen and made a fuss:
- Witnesses who were almost attacked by acid, what cage were you all protecting?
Kim frowned uncomfortably. Worked irresponsibly, almost caused trouble, and dared to show their attitude to Sam. He got angry and pushed Kim:
- Damn, what did you want, did you like to cause trouble?
Kim shrugged and said:
- It was you who caused trouble, not me!
The young buffalo guy bumped into the most "villain" guy in the police force and immediately messed up the whole police station:
- Cadres were servants of the people, you irresponsible people dared to oppose the center, did you believe I would turn this police station into votive paper, huh?
Person was angry because his dearest person had had an accident, hot-tempered person because of criticism, every hot head immediately pushed things too far. Some pulled and argued endlessly, while others advised to avoid conflicts, made the police station rumble like a broken market.
At that time, the two policemen were unable to catch up with the perpetrators, drove back to the police station on motorcycles. Sam became more itchy eyes, screamed, criticized those who were absent-minded, lacked responsibility. Hanna and Huge had to leave the interrogation room to dissuade them. Sam immediately ignored the police team, he hurriedly asked Hanna:
- Sister, were you hurt?
Sam looked her up and down, examined every inch, several people scornfully affirmed that Sam had relapsed into his old ways. Sam once again made those who despised him "embarrassed", they narrowed their eyes and frowned when he was completely different from before.
The troublemaker turned into a serious young man in a literal sense. No longer did his eyes eagerly glare at the beauty's curves, nor did he appear for a second to glance at her measurements.
He was simply worried, from emotions to violent impulsive behavior, as if Hanna lost a hair, he would have turned the police station into the brightest in the wild Prehistoric Kingdom.
Huge scratched his nose and suppressed a smile at Sam's excessive attention to his future sister-in-law. Hanna lowered her head awkwardly to hide her gentle smile. Her shy smile caused outsiders to misunderstand her relationship with Sam. Only insiders could understand that the girl felt Sam's affection for her.
She gave all that affection to Sam's family, now the people she cared about had completely repaid that heart. Hanna smiled slightly, corners of her eyes were filled with warm emotions again. Sam smiled lightly with deep and gentle emotions, all the frustration and anger disappeared, he still had to maintain a "don't make me crazy" look in front of the police. Sam asked Phuong Hoang:
- Had you all finished asking questions?
Everything returned to normal. Kim no longer argued with Sam. He turned on the recorder and asked Hanna gently:
- Did you realize the person who threw the acid sulfuric?
Hanna shook her head:
- The two people were wearing helmets that covered their faces, I couldn't see their faces. It seemed that the person who threw the acid sulfuric was a girl!
Everyone raised their eyebrows at the unexpected information. Phuong Hoang asked:
- Did you guess or confirm?
Hanna frowned, thought for a moment, and then said:
- The one who threw the acid sulfuric was petite and slender, with breast circumference like a teenage girl!
The police carefully recorded Hanna's words:
- I didn't see the license plate in time.
Sam interrupted the conversation:
- They rode black motorcycles, wore black clothes, and covered the license plates with black tape! - Sam muttered. - Damn, this ovulation day and night crowd, Dad was crazy!
Everyone was surprised by the curse words. After a few seconds, they realized that Sam had hinted the perpetrator was not targeting Hanna. The crazy-for-boys sluts had wanted to warn the mysterious girl — the one who had "stolen the husband" of the girls with unrealistic dreams on the Internet.
The police turned to Hanna. She remained calm in the face of their hidden-meaning looks. The girl who was about to become a "public figure" did not want to attract attention and answered all questions calmly. Kim asked about the harasser. Hanna hesitated:
- He was just a harasser!
A little hesitation still aroused suspicion. Neither the police nor Sam believed that the matter was so simple. Kim suspected:
- Strange, he harassed you, why didn't the dormitory guard team prevent him?
Huge and Sam also didn't understand this strange thing. They listened to Hanna's explanation:
- Ah... He pursued me, I rejected him, he was still clingy, but it wasn't bad enough for the guard team to intervene.
People still doubted the kind of testimony that valued peace. But no one could refute it. Sam couldn't get angry on behalf of his brother in the presence of strangers, so he kept silent. The police finished the questioning. Phuong Hoang was about to take the witness back, but Sam waved his hand and refused:
- I didn't believe you guys anymore!
Hanna said goodbye to the people's servants. The rowdy brat immediately urged her and Huge to leave the place that made him itch eyes. Sam walked to the door and suddenly turned to Phuong Hoang and said:
- In the whole police station, I only liked you! - Sam raised his hand to dispel the evil thoughts in the policemen's heads. - Hey, no wild thoughts! I liked her restrained behavior — not the kind that irritated others and made people itch their eyes like someone else did.
Kim still had a lot of things to deal with and didn't have time to argue or waste time. Sam stopped the sarcasm and asked for Phuong Hoang's Halo number:
- I didn't believe it, but it was good to have a backup plan for protection!
Phuong Hoang laughed:
- You could have called the police station directly.
Sam shrugged, expressing his contempt for irresponsible people:
- I didn't like to rely on unpleasant people! Tsk, you thought about it - if I called when all the police were chasing criminals, who would answer the phone?
Phuong Hoang nodded and said that made sense. She read the number and he saved it to his Halo. Sam raised his hand to say hello instead of thank you, and then left the police station. Father and Sam took Hanna to the dormitory door.
The girl who had reported the news was still waiting there with the guard team. She was shivering with cold, but when she saw Hanna get off the car, she ran out to welcome her friend. Hanna said worriedly:
- What were you waiting for on a cold night? If you caught a cold and had a stroke, you would be bedridden like last year!
Her best friend giggled:
- You were taking care of me again, what were you worried about!
- This girl! - Hanna raised her hand to knock on her friend's head, remembering that she hadn't said goodbye to father and Sam, so she bowed. - Yes, I saluted my uncle, goodbye you!
The friend also waved to Sam and his father. The two nodded in response. After the girls entered the dormitory, Sam asked the driver to take him and his father back to the hospital. The driver breathed a sigh of relief:
- Fortunately, we weren't surrounded by crazy fans!
Sam chewed gum:
- Fear of wind, sulfuric acid flies!
The driver asked curiously about Hanna:
- Was she really the Hoang Kim girlfriend?
Sam and his father didn't answer, and the driver didn't dare to ask any more questions. The guy was too familiar with the temperament of Sam and Huge, so all the way back to the hospital, the guy quietly drove, always looked straight ahead.
