Chapter 445 - Anchor

The battle for their home was about to begin.

But what emerged from the darkness wasn't an army of supernatural warriors or ancient beings bent on destruction. It was a single figure, small and unassuming, standing in their front yard as if she'd simply come for tea.

"Well," Kai said into the stunned silence, "that's anticlimactic."

The figure raised her hand in what appeared to be a friendly wave.

"Is she... waving at us?" Samantha asked incredulously.

"She's definitely waving," Callum confirmed, his tactical mind clearly struggling to process this development.

Marcus's eyes had gone completely predatory, his hybrid senses clearly detecting something the others couldn't yet perceive. "Don't be fooled by appearances. That's not human."

"Obviously not," Morgana said dryly from her position by the window. "Humans don't typically survive walking through the kind of magical explosions we just witnessed. Also, she's glowing. Subtly, but definitely glowing."
