A hush fell again over the shattered Sanctum hall, thick with smoke and magic. The air still crackled from the explosion of the Nexus core—but something else now stirred.
Something… old.
Something familiar.
A wind swept through the broken obsidian doors, stirring ash and rubble into a spiral. Symbols formed in the soot—sigils none of them recognized, but that sent a strange ache through Samantha's chest.
Then, out of the storm, a figure stepped forward.
Clad in robes of starlight and bone, a mirrored crystal mask hiding his face. Every inch of him radiated cold, cosmic judgment.
Samantha's heart stopped.
Marcus took a slow step forward. His sword, still slick with Reaper blood, trembled faintly in his grip.
Kai's eyes narrowed. "No. No freaking way."
The figure stopped before them, backlit by otherworldly light. His voice echoed through the chamber—deep, emotionless, laced with power. "I am the Overseer."
