Sutefu glared at Marvin through tear-filled eyes, her trembling arms still resting on Zeno's shoulders as she refused to let him go.
"What? Why should I step aside?" she demanded, her voice cracking under the weight of panic and grief.
Marvin didn't answer immediately. His eyes remained fixed on Zeno, his expression darker than it had ever been.
"There are some things you cannot see with your own eyes… that I can."
His voice was quiet, but every word struck like a hammer.
"What are you talking about? What are you seeing?" Sutefu asked desperately.
Marvin swallowed.
"There are… like a thousand demons inside him."
His voice lowered even further.
"It's nothing I've ever seen before."
His spiritual senses pierced beyond flesh and bone, staring directly into Zeno's spirit. What he saw made every instinct inside him scream.
"So you're saying…" Sutefu whispered, unable to believe what she was hearing.
"…this isn't Zeno?"
Marvin slowly shook his head.
"That is Zeno, alright."
