Ah Jiu and Emperor Yan stared at each other, neither backing down, as their tempers flared.
"Prince Jin, are you challenging my royal authority?" Emperor Yan looked down at Ah Jiu from his elevated position in the hall.
He used the formal title instead of the usual affectionate terms of Ah Jiu or Imperial Brother.
"I dare not!"
"Dare not?" Emperor Yan's anger erupted suddenly, and he grabbed the Vermilion Pen beside him and threw it: "I see you dare very much."
Ah Jiu did not dodge or avoid it, letting the pen brush past his face, staring straight at Emperor Yan.
Eunuch Lu had already knelt down when Emperor Yan got angry, sweat dripping from his forehead, thinking why Prince Jin was being stubborn and couldn't just concede?
"If the Imperial Brother seeks an answer, your younger brother dares to ask first, as the Son of Heaven, can you truly be without guilt toward people and matters?" Ah Jiu sneered.
"How dare you!"
