Before dawn the next day, Wu Lihong got up to attend the early court session. The sky brightened quickly in June and July. After serving Wu Lihong for the court and with something on her mind, Madam Wang did not return to sleep. She got up early, freshened up, and had breakfast with her beloved son and little daughter before starting to handle the household affairs.
In a large family, managing affairs is endless. As the Matriarch, it takes at least half a day to sort everything out. By the time she sent out all the orders, Madam Wang had already changed several cups of tea. Only after delegating the last task could she return to her own room to rest.
As July approached, the weather became even hotter. Madam Wang changed into a fresh outfit, instructed for two additional ice basins to be brought into the room, and summoned a maid to massage her legs. She took a sip of mung bean soup, and as the cool liquid soothed her throat, she let out a comfortable sigh.
