Nanny Wei walked out, only to see Cao Er standing there with the tea, trembling, and upon seeing her, Cao Er shrank back.
"Nanny, the tea, the tea is ready." Cao Er lifted the tray in her hands, on the verge of tears, "I, this servant doesn't dare to go in."
Nanny Wei gave her a fixed look, took the tray, and said, "You may leave."
Cao Er breathed a sigh of relief, curtsied, and quickly left.
Nanny Wei carried the tea inside, and Madam Wang glanced at the tea cup on the tray, asking, "Who is it?"
"It's just the maid who serves the tea."
Madam Wang frowned.
Nanny Wei quickly said, "She's an honest one, doesn't speak much or cause trouble. I had her brew this tea." She lifted the tea cup and handed it over, "Madam, soothe your throat too."
Madam Wang took it and sipped, the light honeysuckle water at a suitable temperature, calming a bit of her inner agitation.
