Cheng Su bought a place for her parents, not in the same neighborhood as her own, but not far either, on Construction Road. It's only about half an hour away by bus.
The place isn't newly built, it's also one of those work-unit apartments. The whole building belongs to one government office, just that this particular family emigrated, so they put it up for sale.
Two bedrooms and a living room, a north–south layout, more than enough for them to live in. According to Cheng Su's plan, they'll live here for now and switch to something bigger later.
"Even though it's only two bedrooms, the space is quite big. Not bad at all. It's just, if you and your husband come back to stay, there'll be nowhere for you to sleep," Mother Cheng said, looking all around, delighted.
Cheng Su said, "This place is only half an hour's bus ride from my apartment, it's not far. We can just go back home to sleep."
