Chapter 614 - Chapter 614: An Exciting Breakthrough

When the CIA gets serious about doing things, rather than dragging their feet, their efficiency is incredibly high. On the fourth night after Team B arrived in Mexico City, an ambassador's residence from a wealthy Middle Eastern country held an extravagant banquet.

The SEALs transformed into security and waitstaff, blending into the crowd. With the help of CIA agents, Texas oil tycoon Sonny successfully made the acquaintance of Carla Reyes. After the banquet, he carried out a stealthy kidnapping, unnoticed by anyone.

"Help! Ah, please don't do this! Help! Help!" The chilling screams from the interrogation room echoed outside, where the men waiting looked at each other, their expressions strange.

"Make sure you remind me never to offend Mandy again," Jason said to Major Blackburn.

Sonny still had a dazed expression. "Did I mishear something, or is there a misunderstanding about how the girls remove their makeup? They clearly just said—"

Jack, quite speechless, patted his shoulder. "Who the hell heard of using a high-pressure water gun to remove makeup?" He looked around. "It's probably about done. Interested in going in with me?"

The others shook their heads like rattles, clearly not keen. Interrogation was never the SEALs' specialty, and even less so when the subject was a woman.

"I should call Stella," Clay Spencer said as he quickly made for the door. Stella was his girlfriend, and after 8 PM, it was always their sweet time together.

"We still have half a bottle of tequila left," someone else said.

"I'm going to play soccer with Lopez's kids. They're getting bored in the camp."

"Speaking of kids, I think I forgot to call my two kids last night. Damn it."

As the others filtered out, only Jack remained, sighing in resignation before pushing open the door to the interrogation room.

Contrary to what the SEALs imagined, there was no blood or terrifying torture scene. Instead, Mandy Ellis and Rita Alfero stood in the middle of the room, their powerful presence filling the space. They were staring impassively at Carla Reyes, who was trembling in the corner.

The woman no longer had the confident air she once carried. Her high heels were discarded in the corner, and her already minimal, but extremely expensive, evening dress hung in tatters, barely able to cover her body like a rag.

Her expensive makeup and fake eyelashes were gone, showing that the high-pressure water gun method really did work wonders for removing makeup.

Jack moved a chair over and helped the still-quaking Carla Reyes sit down. He then squatted beside her, giving her a friendly smile.

"Who... who are you?" she stammered.

"Enemy or friend, it all depends on your choices, Miss Reyes," Jack said gently, his gaze as if they were long-lost friends.

"Are you Americans?" Carla Reyes tried her best to stop shaking, though it was clearly difficult for her. The night's temperature wasn't too cold, but after being drenched in cold water from the high-pressure gun for several minutes, she was frozen to the bone.

"Maria Cervantes, Josefina Perez, these are your girls, right?" Rita Alfero stepped forward and placed a few photos in front of her.

The photos showed two young Latina girls, both once vibrant with youth, but in the last two pictures, both were hanged under a bridge.

"Their deaths have nothing to do with me. It was just a tragedy," Carla Reyes turned her head away.

"Yeah, these tragedies were caused by the drug lords. You were just the one introducing innocent girls to them, earning a commission as a middleman, right?" Mandy Ellis lowered the high-pressure water gun and, standing side by side with Rita, they looked down at the trembling madam.

"If there's any resistance or disobedience, this is what happens to them."

"I don't know what you're talking about! What do you want from me? I can give you money. I have a lot of money! Please don't hurt me. Please!" Carla Reyes cried, begging, as if she were truly an innocent victim.

Seeing that this woman was still pretending, Jack sighed. "Why don't you continue? Just pretend I wasn't here."

As soon as he stood up to leave, Carla Reyes shuddered, her eyes filled with despair. "What do you want to know?"

"The list. You've selected so many young girls for Doza, providing them as sexual services to the upper echelons of his cartel. We need those names."

"I'll die! They won't let me live! Please, don't do this. Who are you people? No one can touch Doza. No one!"

Carla Reyes became frantic, shaking her head as if she were even more terrified than when she realized she had been kidnapped.

"No one can touch him? Are you sure?" Jack couldn't help but laugh. "Then why is he hiding? His posters are all over the streets, and he wants to be a hero of Mexico's resistance against foreign powers. Now we've come, and he's hiding underground like a rat.

You don't want to die, right? Help us find Doza, and you might just live."

"Do you know where you are? This is the Mexican Marine Corps base. There are hundreds of elite soldiers here, each with blood debts to these drug cartels. We're the ones protecting you. If you refuse to cooperate, I can open this door and set you free right now. Even if you manage to leave this base alive and make it to Doza's territory, do you think he will still trust you?"

Carla Reyes clung tightly to the chair, her gaze blank for a moment before quickly regaining focus, as if she saw a sliver of hope.

"You're Americans, right? It must be. Send me to the U.S. I'll cooperate. I can tell you everything you want to know. Just give me a way out. I don't want to die!"

The next morning, in the operations center, two female agents, looking exhausted with heavy dark circles under their eyes, gathered everyone together. They stood in front of a large screen displaying a photo.

The photo showed two people: one was the infamous Doza, and next to him was a fierce-looking Latino man with half-length hair tied in a short ponytail.

"Looks like you had a productive night," Jason teased with a smile, noticing that despite their exhaustion, the two women were clearly exhilarated.

Mandy Ellis rolled her eyes at him and motioned for Rita Alfero to take the lead.

"This is Luis Castillo, aka 'Lasso.' He's not only Doza's second-in-command but also an old friend of his, fully responsible for the production and processing of the drugs."

"'Lasso'? What does that mean?" The curious Sonny pulled out his phone and tried to look up the word using a translation app.

Clay Spencer, ever helpful, offered an explanation. "It means 'lasso.'"

"Is 'Lasso' also one of Carla Reyes's clients?" Jason asked seriously, taking out his notebook to jot down the details.

"Yes," Rita Alfero nodded excitedly. "According to Carla Reyes, whenever Lasso comes to Mexico City, he always calls her to help him find women. And I mean every time!"
