Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

"May I present His Majesty Blaine Glayder, Her Majesty Priscilla Glayder, Prince Curtis Glayder, and Princess Kathyln Glayder," Mr. Helstea said as a sudden pressure came into the room as all of the adults, followed by the kids, bowed or went on one knee.

"I didn't know we would be sharing this space with George Vincent." The king voiced his confusion.

"Forgive me, Your Majesty, but I remember you want to meet my family," he said with a smile, not too worried. "This is my wife, Tabitha, and my daughter, Lilia. Over here are my good friends, Alice Leywin and her children, Arthur Leywin and Eleanor Leywin." He said, then, looking over at me, "Over here is one of my best guards, Charlie Conter," he said as I just stayed silent, looking at the floor. I am extremely nervous.

"Well, friends of Vincent are friends of mine, so I am glad it is not just the guards and us," the king said as he smiled at us.

As we stood, I heard Sylvie Kyu as she ran up to Arthur.

"What an adorable mana beast," the queens said as she got closer to it. "How lucky you are to have such a tame mana beast; even young ones seem to not listen very well," she said, petting it.

"Yeah, we can come." *COUGH COUGH* I cut him off by coughing extremely loudly. I can make him make the same mistake as canon and have that dragon pervert do anything to Sylvie.

"Are you okay, child?" the queen asked me.

"Yeah, I am fine. I just had something fly in my mind because you beautifully had my mouth agape," I said as I looked at Arthur. He did something wrong, and he got what I meant.

"Ooh, my, what a flirt," she said with a smile, but the king looked humored by what I said, Curtis looked upset at me, and Kathyln looked at me curiously.

After a bit more talking, we got to sit down, and the auction started in a very flashy style. As we passed the object being auctioned, I could see the mage bastard still steal glances at Sylvie. Annoyed, I kept an eye out as she was in Ele's arms. Yeah, I have a nickname for her. Another few objects pass. I see Sylvie walk away, as does the mage, so I definitely follow.

**(BASTARD'S POV)**

"What an adorable manatee comes to Papa! I only want to get a "I quickly try and grab it, but it just slips away in time, but I am quick and catch my balance, and this time I am going to get it.

*WEEEEEEEEEEEEOWW*

"K'O"

**(Charlie's POV)**

Looking at him, he knocked out the mage. I smirk. I then hear footsteps behind me. I see Arthur as he looks at me and the mage on the floor, then at Sylvie as he smiles at her as she runs to his arms and probably tells him what happens as he looks at me.

"Thank you, Charlie, if you ever need anything, just as I am indebted to you," he said as he bowed.

"Haha, you don't need to do that, but I will hold you to it, and all I need is a friend like you, okay?" I said this as I walked to the terrace.

I wonder how this will change the story, but whatever, I made a friend; I did not have many in my last life. I don't care too much that he's the MC of this world; it just means I need to get stronger to stand next to him. Making it back, I get a couple of looks as I walk in with Arthur behind me and Sylvie in his arms.

Another hour passed. I saw one of the guards leave but not come back, so they must be checking on the mage, but it has been a while, so I can't help but worry. Then, as if he had read my mind, he came back running and whispered into his Majesty's ear. A troubled look appeared on his face.

"Excuse me and Curtis, if you need anything, use my number, but honey, make sure it's something I would agree with," he said as he left as an excited Curtis smiled brightly.

"What happened, darling?" he asked worriedly.

"Nothing too serious; I just need to check on something," he said with a strained smile.

He left and came back half an hour late, as the auction was about to finish and as Canon Curtis got his white lion cub. But not like Canon; he did not ask for Arthur's dragon, and the mage was not crippled, but hey, I can't choose what happens.

After we headed home once, I went to train like normal, but after a few hours, I heard the door. Looking at the entrance, I saw Father look at me with a bright smile. Now curious, I walk over to him. As I get closer, I see his arm behind him, making me want to know more.

"What happened, Dad, and why are your arms behind you?" I asked as I went to hug him. As he hugged me back, I felt a box on my back.

"I got you something," he said, putting the box in front of me. "Go on, open it," he said in childish glee.

Opening it, I see a talisman of some kind with a crystal on it, but he then pulls out one of his own. As they glow, I put some mana into it as I see myself in the crystal looking at my father. I saw myself on his as he pointed his at me. It felt like a facetime call.

"I know you want to be an adventurer, and this communication talisman will help me know you are okay, and it was not cheap, so take care of it. Your birthday is only around the corner, but I will be traveling out, so I will not be able to celebrate or give you a present." He was looking upset

"Thank you, Dad. Better late than never, right? And I do not care if you celebrate it or not as long as I know you love me; that is all, and this is a good thing. I can call you or you me when you're not busy, so when are you leaving?" I asked curiously.

"In a week, when I will be back, I do not know, but I will let you know when I know, okay?' he said, hugging me again.

"No worries, but I am tired. I am going to head to sleep. See you tomorrow. Goodnight, Dad," I said, yawning as I went inside.

"Yeah, see you tomorrow," he said with his back turned to me.

**(Third Person POV)**

'Sorry, son, I do not know if I will make it back," Carden thought as tears fell from his cheeks as he went to sit on one of the benches in the training room.
