The humans have prospered. After a long period of decline because of their primary planet's climate, they once again reemerged and this time they are better. They explored beyond their planet, galaxy, and out in the universe and have then established a solid communication with other intelligent life forms. Through this, they discovered that they are only one of the new and upcoming civilizations among these countless stars.

"BROTHER!" A soft and excited voice rang in Li Xin's ear awakening him from his sleep. "Brother its your Graduation Day!" Blearily, he opened his eyes to be greeted by an excited smile by his sister.
"Xue-er ah, isn't it a bit too early?" He asked while getting up and then petting his lovely sister. "But after you leave, I dont know when you're coming back ah." Li Xue said while pouting.
Grinning, Li Xin pinched her sisters duck beak and pulled gently "Pout pout, you only know how to act cute, and its not as if Ill forget about you, who would forget such an annoying brat!" Slapping his hands away, Xue gave him a stink eye before hugging him. "Ill miss you.."
"Ill miss you too brat." After joining the Intergalactic Union, Human were then introduced into the myriads of danger hidden in the Universe' depths. To conquer those dangers, humans are then sent to a joint university, after their secondary education, on the edge of human territory right next to their alien neighbor the Colians. It is to associate the new generation to the variety of species found in the Union and to also train them. It is unknown if he'll get to come back home during his three year education.
After Li Xue left his room he started packing. Admittedly he should've packed days ago but you cant blame the young man, it is in every young person's instinct to procrastinate 'till the last minute, hence when the the shuttle to his Secondary School arrived, he was still rushing about in his room.
"Ill miss you mom, brat." He grinned, while hugging the two most important people in his life.
Riding the shuttle to school, he can't help but marvel at the sight of his planet. After the humans began their interplanetary exploration, humanity's territory expanded as well, encompassing multiple galaxies and hundreds of planet, though admittedly, the scene outside the shuttle is one of the many few, he will miss it, as this is his home.

Li Xin stood infront of the shuttle station, waiting for the shuttle thatll bring him to the port. He was nervous and excited, he worked hard for this, to be admitted at the Joint University is a great honour only people who excelled in their classes get. He may not be the best but he put his mind in soul into training and studying to get the admission.
"Xin.." Li Xin came out of his revelry to see a girl standing in front of him, no, scratch that, a woman. Though undeniably pretty and sexy, what strikes most people when seeing her is her piercing blue eyes and the soft smile. "Yuqi.." He greeted, his nervousness fading.
Chen Yuqi is pretty, smart, his best friend. When his father died on duty, its as if a their family died with him, its was Yuqi who stood beside him, conforting him and guiding him. He treated Yuqi like a sister, afraid kf expecting any more.
"Im going to the Academy of Sciences Xin. I've been invited there because of my previous research contributions. JU is indeed promising but I have been offered a research assistant position as soon as I entered school, I dont want to pass it up." Yuqi said, her eyes somber. "Im sorry… I cant come with you.."
"Hey hey hey its okay! Its not as if well stop being friends just because we're attending different universities." Hurriedly Xin held Yuqi's face as he carefully wiped the falling tears in her face. Yuqi is very much into the sciences, she was curious and inquisitive, however he wanted to go to the Join University and strive to make his own exploration team, To see the ends of the universe. If Yuqi wants to know the 'hows', then he wants to know 'the wheres'. Yuqi is like an imprinted duck to him, she follows after him always, thats why when she now decided to walk on her own path instead of following him like he always told her to do so, he was elated. Yuqi isn't very headstrong, she's very shy, timid, and introverted, to come to this decision must've taken a toll on her, disappointing him or what not.
"Im happy for you! You always wanted cut open beasts to see how they're biologically different from us, so go cut those aliens ah.." Yuqi glared at him a little before smiling at him, the same smile that always made his heart skip. "Even if we attend separate Unis, you'll still be my Stinky Yuqi." He grinned as he slowly brushed her hair, earning a more fierce glare from Yuqi.
"You'll also always be Ugly Xin." She retorted. "Xin I.. I have something to tell you." Xin dropped to hold hers, he looked at her seriously, squinting his eyes a little and asked "You didn't illegally buy alien beast parts to study right?"
"No ah!" Yuqi said, pursing her lips. "I just want to say that.." Breathing in loudly she steeled her gaze and looked him "Xin I like you…" Like a deflating air balloon, her voice dwindled with every word, however the meaning was clear, and it struck heavily in his heart.
Xin looked at her with confusion as he struggled to swallow and his eyes heat up. He held her more firmly and asked "You like me?" As if this is something otherworldly.
Seeing that Xin is even more nervous than she is, Yuqin broke into a smile and her nerves loosen. This time her words cane out more smoothly, more smoothly than the countless times she practiced. "I like you."
Xin immediately pulled her into his embrace and hugged her tightly than he would've dared to before. He was wrong, she wasn't timid at all. She was scared but still gathered the courage he didn't manage to get. "I thought— I didn't think—" He was flustered beyond his imagination, but before that, "I like you too." He had to voice out his feelings as well, he cant be too chicken ah.
"I like you so much.." He pulled away from the hug and looked Yuqi intently, "I never thought you'd reciprocate my feelings I—Im so happy." He said while grinning wildly, he couldn't care less if he looked a bit dumb right now smiling so big while waiting for the shuttle.
Just as he was about to ask Yuqi if she can be his girlfriend, a short tune sounded and a recorded voice notifying the arrival of the shuttle and its destination sounded. Li Xin looked at the shuttle that arrived at such an ill timed manner with annoyance. Chen Yuqi broke off his embrace and smiled at him. "Lets date once you come back."
Taken aback, Li Xin stared at her with wide eyes, really surprised ah. The soft and timid dumpling is actually so proactive, he cant help but be apprehensive. "Ill formally introduce you to my mom once I get back!" He said excitedly. Yuqi shouldn't the only one taking the forward steps in this relationship, or soon to be relationship, as they're together in it. Looking Yuqi, the fondness in his eyes overflowed, he was excited, happy, confused, and all other emotions. Li Xin felt like he is going to burst from the fullness of his chest.
However he had to board the shuttle and leave now, though reluctant, he also wants to achieve his dreams like Yuqi does, so he mustered his resolve and let go of her hands. "Ill be back." He whispered to her determinedly, and in return Yuqi's smile grew wider. "I know."
And so he walked onto the shuttle, but just as he was about to board, someone pulled his hand and he had to look back, and just as he did, a soft and sweet kiss landed on his lips. "Take care." Said the Yuqi with a smile as she pushed him inside the shuttle.
Finally waking up from his shock, he looked at the closing door infront of him and the person behind the door, his overflowing emotions that he only managed to calm down before, started to show itself again.
With his eyes red with myriad of emotions, carved the words " To Come back" in his heart. "Yuqi.." He greeted, his nervousness fading.
