Adeline dried her hands and shouted loudly in the direction of the upstairs. Roger had just stood up when a girl poked half of her body out from the door.
"Hurry up, tonight Mom baked her best cookies, we definitely have to be quick, or else Jack will..."
"Ha, I knew you'd be the first to call Roger to eat." A boy peeked over, his face wearing a teasing smile.
"WOW, I know, you guys must..."
"Shut up!" The red-haired girl roughly grabbed the boy by the collar. But she quickly realized something, turning her head awkwardly towards Roger with a smile.
"You guys go ahead, I'll be down shortly." Roger didn't expect, as a transmigrator, he would one day integrate into a strange family.
After leaving the island, he was taken to Baytown's police station. His amnesia made it difficult to trace his origins, putting Roger in an awkward situation. If not for the fact that this wasn't a border area, he might have been deemed a smuggler already.
