A Ghost Servant is a Lost Soul. High-level techniques of Lust Cultivation could restrain Lost Souls. But Ma Wu's cultivation level was not high enough. Unless he had a Magical Treasure or Spiritual Objects, he couldn't touch a Lost Soul at all. This was the most troublesome aspect of being a Nightmare Cultivator.
