According to the Kou family's investigation, Princess Xi was the Queen's close confidante, but her intentions were always dubious.
Even before the Queen died, Princess Xi was secretly building her own faction under the Queen's name.
Later on, as her wings grew, and she no longer relied on the Queen, Princess Xi started using her disaster-altering abilities to secretly poison the Queen.
Since the Queen's health was already poor, and Princess Xi used a very special slow-acting poison, neither King Kang nor the Queen noticed anything unusual.
The Queen was of noble birth, so an autopsy was simply out of the question. Thus, Princess Xi managed to keep it all under wraps.
The Kou family has been investigating this matter for the past two years, but made little progress.
It wasn't until Princess Xi became pregnant and pulled the same trick again, trying to poison King Kang in order to seize power for her young son, that the Kou family noticed some clues.
