It was as if there was telepathy; just as she was thinking of Qiao Si, his video call came in.
"Why aren't you asleep yet?"
The first thing Qiao Si asked her was why she hadn't slept yet.
"I miss you. I miss you so much that I can't sleep. When are you coming back?"
Ye Xiao was lying sideways on the bed, hugging her phone. The background behind him revealed he was in a conference room, and from his appearance, it looked like he had just finished a meeting.
A glint of admiration flashed in Qiao Si's eyes. It turned out he wasn't the only one thinking of her; she was thinking of him too.
"I'll finish things up as soon as possible and come back early to be with you."
Qiao Si's voice was very gentle.
"You don't need to rush. If you have a lot to do, take your time. I'll be starting school in a couple of days."
Ye Xiao was worried that he might work tirelessly just to come back and see her sooner, which wasn't what she wanted.
