Chapter 3: The Abilities Unveiled

The next morning, Arjun woke early and decided to explore the area around their camp. He was curious about his ability and wanted to see if he could find any useful applications for it.

As he wandered through the forest, he noticed strange plants and animals, unlike anything he had ever seen on Earth. Some were beautiful, while others looked dangerous. He approached a cluster of glowing mushrooms and decided to test his ability.

Focusing on the system interface, he accessed the code of the mushrooms and found that he could manipulate their properties. With a few adjustments, he made the mushrooms emit a soft, steady light, perfect for illuminating their camp at night.

Item: Glowing Mushroom

Properties: Emits a soft, steady light. Useful for illumination.

Pleased with his discovery, Arjun returned to the camp and shared his findings with Vikram and the others. They were impressed and began to see the potential of his ability.

"We need more supplies," Vikram said. "Arjun, why don't you and a few others head out and see what else you can find? Be careful, though. We don't know what kind of dangers are out there."

Arjun agreed and set out with a small group, including Raj and a healer named Maya. As they ventured deeper into the forest, they encountered more strange creatures, some friendly, others hostile.

At one point, they stumbled upon a pack of wolf-like beasts with glowing eyes. The creatures growled and advanced towards them. Raj readied his weapon, and Maya prepared her healing spells.

"Stay behind us," Raj said to Arjun. "We'll handle this."

The first beast lunged at Raj, its jaws snapping. Raj sidestepped quickly, bringing his sword down in a powerful arc. The blade connected with the beast's neck, and it fell to the ground, twitching.

Another beast attacked from the side, but Raj was ready. He swung his sword with precision, cutting through the creature's thick hide. Blood sprayed, and the beast yelped in pain before collapsing.

Meanwhile, Maya was busy casting healing spells on Raj, ensuring he stayed in top form. Her staff glowed brightly as she chanted incantations, and Raj's wounds healed almost instantly.

Arjun watched, feeling helpless. He knew he had to do something. Focusing on the system interface, he accessed the code of the beasts. It was a complex process, but he managed to weaken their defenses.

"Raj, try now!" Arjun shouted.

Raj didn't hesitate. He charged at the remaining beasts, his sword moving with blinding speed. The weakened creatures couldn't withstand his attacks. One by one, they fell, their glowing eyes dimming as life left their bodies.

When the last beast was down, a notification appeared in front of Arjun.

Experience Gained: 10

Total Experience: 10/100

Raj and Maya received similar notifications.

Loot Collected: Beast Hide x3, Beast Fang x2, Beast Meat x4

Arjun's heart pounded in his chest. He had never seen such violence up close before. But there was no time to dwell on it. They needed to keep moving.

"Good job, Arjun," Raj said, wiping the blood off his sword. "Your ability made a difference."

"Thanks," Arjun replied, still catching his breath. "Let's keep going. We need to find more supplies."

They continued their journey, gathering food, water, and other supplies. Arjun's ability proved invaluable, allowing them to optimize their resources and make the most of what they found.

As they returned to the camp, they were greeted with cheers. The group's morale was high, and Arjun felt a sense of accomplishment. They had proven that they could survive in this new world, but he knew that the challenges were far from over.
