Chapter 16 - The rumble

Zen still has an unconscious thought of the impediment present. The summon, who stands like the unwavering mountain blocking Zen's way, made him feel helpless and powerless. Zen said I must get up again and continue fighting, for Yawen and for Rui. The unwavering mountain blocking Zen's way made him feel helpless and powerless. Zen said I must get up again and continue fighting, for Yawen and for Rui.

Zen's entire body emitted light as he rose from the pits, sending a radiant glow in all directions. He opened his eyes, looking at the summon with a superior gaze. His body, seemingly divine, stood tall against the summon, meeting eye-to-eye despite the height difference. Zen, at 6'3", faced the 8-foot-tall summon. Their intense gaze was a spectacle to behold. The summon raised its hand, conjuring a massive spear of fire, the heat palpable in the air. Zen, undeterred, prepared to face this fiery threat, his determination unwavering. The impending clash promised to be nothing short of epic.

Zen, this time fully conscious and in a full state of bliss, with his skin and bones completely healed, miraculously flowed with grace like before. His attacks are still being made with instinct, like before. He had a purple aura in his left hand and a gold aura in his right, mixed them, and attacked the summon. Woah said to himself, I wanted to create a fireball, but this works too.

The attack was somehow effective this time. The summon flew away faraway. The summon was impressed. The summons called for its axe, and with a fire spear in his right arm and the axe in his left, he changed the axe into a spear and infused the fire spear with it.

Zen was thoroughly impressed with what the summon demonstrated until now. He shouted, Hey summon, I am flabbergasted by the things you have shown me. I am looking forward to more of them in the future. Zen enjoys every moment attacked with fury and the summon too retaliated. Zen and the summon clashes were better than before and more devestating.

They clashed here and there with tremendous speed, making each of their strikes reach deep within the ruins. Rui, Yawen, and the Necromancer could hear those clashes. The necromancer said your friend seems to be quite a formidable guy, but for how long can he last? Yawen replied, As long as you last. They started their own fight with the necromancer.

Meanwhile, Zen and the summon fought to their hearts content. Their battle is now not limited to one chamber but to the entire ruin. Zen eyes flaring were matched by the summon glowing eyes. They reached severe rooms and reduced them to pits. The clash of their essences was a sight to behold, both literally and figuratively.

Zen, with his daggers, fought the summon with the spear. Zen tightened his grip on his twin daggers in the cold, dim light of the battlefield. His eyes locked onto the summon before him, its eyes gleaming ominously. The air between them crackled with tension, and the moment of silence was broken.

The summon made the move, lunging forward with the spear aimed straight for Zen's heart. Zen sidestepped with agility, feeling the air as the spear sliced past him, narrowly missing its mark. With a swift, fluid motion, he rotated and aimed at the summon's head. The summon blocked with his right arm, gripped Zen with the dagger, and started bashing him in the ground while spinning him everywhere, eventually throwing him to the wall.

The summon charged again, its spear thrusting in rapid succession. Zen danced around the strikes while being dazed, his daggers a blur as he parried each thrust with precise, controlled movements. The clash of metal rang out, and Zen was enjoying it.

In a daring move, Zen closed the distance, slipping inside the spear's reach. He slashed upward with one dagger, aiming for the creature's chest, but the summon twisted its body, the blade grazing its armor. The spear came around in a brutal backhand swing, and Zen barely managed to block it with crossed daggers. The force of the blow sent him skidding back, his feet digging into the ground to maintain his balance.

Zen sighed, his blissful face betraying his true feelings. He muttered, "I can't feel scared; I only feel blissful." The contradiction weighed heavily on his heart—a silent struggle within.

Zen thought to himself, "What is happening to me? I feel divine and blissful. I don't feel scared while fighting the summon; instead, I love it. This power is surging through me—it's exhilarating." He marveled at the sensation, his heart pounding with excitement and resolve. Fighting the summon wasn't just a battle; it felt like his true calling.

The intense battle annihilated all creatures in the vicinity, leaving the ground riddled with holes, walls cracked, and pillars shattered. Suddenly, the entire hall collapsed with a deafening roar, sending shockwaves through the earth. The immense quake rippled outward, reaching even the distant forests, shaking trees and startling wildlife in its powerful wake, a testament to the battle's ferocity.

The hall collapsed with a sudden thrust. Zen pushed the summon with his wind art while the hall collapsed. The summons was buried under the rubble while Zen escaped from it. Zen was confident that the summons would return. This time, Zen anticipated his return, standing there all stoic with his eyes glaring.

Zen planned to run again, but the summon followed him. Zen said, Let's play tag. Zen, with a new plan, thought of fighting the summon in new places after the collapse of the hall. Zen ventured through the ruins, reaching a room. He saw a grand hall, even grander than the one he fought for.

The throne room was grand and opulent, with a large, ornate throne. Having tattered banners and broken chandeliers. The summons, not as quick as Zen's, eventually reached there. Zen said to himself, This summon can feel my presence and follow me. Hiding and seeking don't work, but playing tag does.

The summon, eventually reached the throne room, its heavy footsteps echoing through the vast chamber. With a swift, fluid motion, Zen dashed towards the throne, using it as a springboard to launch himself into the air. He flipped over the summon, landing gracefully behind it and slashing with his daggers. Zen didn't give the summon a chance to recover. He lunged forward, his daggers flashing in the dim light as he unleashed a flurry of strikes.

In a countermove, the summon drove its spear into the ground, creating a shockwave that sent Zen flying backward. He collided with the throne, toppling it over with a resounding crash. The room shook, with the remaining pillars cracking and beginning to collapse.

Zen muttered to himself, "It hasn't been that long since we came to this room, but it's already destroyed." The summon roared, its massive form charging with a spear raised. Zen's reflexes were lightning-fast; he sidestepped the attack and delivered a devastating uppercut. The summon soared through the air, crashing into a pillar with a thunderous impact.

With a furious bellow, the summon slammed its spear into the ground and raised both arms high. A shockwave erupted outward as it clapped, the force rippling through the weakened structure of the throne room. Walls crumbled, pillars shattered, and the grand chamber collapsed into rubble around them.

Both Zen and the summon escaped the fall of the room. After the destruction of the great hall and the throne room, Zen again ran away from the room and went away.

Zen sprinted through the crumbling ruins, his heart racing as he led the relentless summon on a chase through the ancient corridors. Around him, the shadows stirred with movement as multiple creatures emerged from the darkness. Goblins with twisted grins, skeletons with rusted armor, and hulking ogres with gnarled fists converged, sensing the turmoil.

With acrobatic agility, Zen vaulted over the creatures. The summon, thundering behind him, crashed headlong into the fray. Its spear whirled, striking down goblins and sending skeletons flying with each thrust. The creatures retaliated, clawing and biting at the summon's armored form, but it wielded its spear, breaking their skulls while the skeletons crumbled because of the flames of the spear.

Zen, perched in the shadows of the ceiling, watched with wary eyes. He knew the summon's strength, but it was outnumbered and surrounded. The ogre lunged, swinging its club, but the summon deflected the blow with a swift parry, countering with a powerful sweep that sent the ogre crashing into a nearby wall.

As the summon fought, its movements became more fluid, adapting to each new threat with calculated efficiency. It dispatched the goblins with sweeping arcs of its spear, then turned its attention to the ogres, severing their bones with powerful strikes.

After the summon had dispatched all the creatures in the vicinity, it looked up towards the ceiling where Zen was hiding. Zen met its gaze with a steely glare, his heart pounding in anticipation. The summon's massive form stood still for a moment, as if weighing its next move.

Then, with a deep breath, its chest expanding with supernatural power, the summon exhaled forcefully. The air around Zen surged as a powerful gust of wind erupted from the summon's mouth. Dust and debris swirled in the chaotic current, threatening to dislodge Zen from his precarious perch.

Zen gripped the edge of the ceiling tightly, his muscles straining against the buffeting wind. He focused, channeling his own energy to maintain his balance. The wind continued to howl, its force testing Zen's resolve. With a defiant grit of his teeth, Zen held his ground, refusing to be blown away by the summon's display of power.

Zen was baffled by the strength of the summon; it keeps surprising me with every new move. This is strong elemental art. His mastery is amazing. I wonder how this summons would do against Pali.

Zen landed with a heavy thud, rolling to absorb the impact before springing back to his feet. He faced the summon head-on, determination etched on his face. The summon wasted no time, launching a relentless barrage of attacks. Fire erupted from its hands, followed by gusts of wind that threatened to knock Zen off balance. Lightning crackled around them, illuminating the ruins with each strike.

Zen dodged and weaved through the onslaught, his movements fluid and precise.

The summon prepared a massive attack by tightly gripping the spear and focusing its energy on it.

Zen's eyes widened as the summon's onslaught intensified. He used his earthly skills, raising a formidable wall of stone to shield himself from the barrage. However, the attacks proved too powerful. Fire scorched the surface, wind eroded its edges, and lightning shattered its core. The final blow came as the summon hurled its spear with terrifying force, piercing through the weakened wall and catching Zen off guard.

The spear struck Zen in the stomach, its impact lifting him off his feet and sending him hurtling through the ruins. He crashed through walls and debris, each impact driving the weapon deeper and causing excruciating pain. The force of the spear's thrust was so immense that it tore through several rooms, collapsing much of the ancient structure in its wake. The ruins echoed with a thunderous noise, reverberating through the forest and alerting those nearby.

Zen's flight ended in the garden where he had been before. He slammed into a stone wall, the spear pinning him in place with brutal finality. The garden, once a place of fleeting serenity, is now disturbed by the attack of the summon. Zen's vision blurred as he looked down at the spear protruding from his stomach. Blood seeped from the wound, staining the ground beneath him. Through the holes in the ruins, he saw the summon's gleaming eyes steadily approaching, ready to confirm its victory.

Zen, with blurred vision, gazed through the multiple holes left by the spear's destructive path. He saw the summon's gleaming eyes steadily approaching, its steps slow and deliberate, relishing the sight of its wounded opponent.

The summon saw Zen hang up in the wall and raise its hand. The spear came back to his hand, and he stared at Zen's lifeless body.
