Chapter 49 - Chapter 47: Business and Politics

The teacher continued to glaze on the Hokages and what they did to this village. But in the back corner, Ken and Jiraiya were looking in deadpan at another student who butted in their conversation.

"Men are better than women. Women are inferior in every fucking way." The extra said to Jiraiya and Ken with arms crossed.

"Bro, are we really doing this?" Ken commented.

"Men are physically stronger. I'll walk outside and punch out ten bitches right now, they can even gang up on me and they still won't win!" The extra persisted.

"But... why?" Jiraiya asked, not making sense of this at all, barely could hide his disgust.

Ken and Jiraiya were talking about cultured stuff and their favourite shapes, but suddenly this extra came and seemingly is insulting their very idea that defined their existence and purpose.

"Who do women run to when a jar needs opening? Exactly. Who rapes more people? Who takes women as slaves? Who the women turn to always? And who doesn't need women but the women need them? Precisely, Men!" The extra went on, seemingly proud.

"Huh?"

"You did NOT just say that dude, tone it down. Women give birth. They push whole humans out their–" Ken got interrupted.

"So? They sit there crying... Oh my pussy, it hurts! Shut up bitch! If men gave birth, we'd be squatting in the hallway, popping out babies like nothing. GGs. Next!" The extra said as a matter of factly.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Jiraiya pointed at the extra with sheer disgust this time.

"Men are smarter too. We know what we wanna eat. We're even better at sucking dick!" The extra said.

"Huh?!" "Excuse me?!" ×2

"I ain't gay, but put a dick in my face and I'll deep-throat that shit while licking the guy's ass!"

"Gay." ×2

"The only thing women are good for is cleaning, laundry, and getting cheated on. And they barely do that right!"

"incel." ×2

"Hashirama-sama's favourite hobby was–heyy! you extra right there!!" Katsuki, the teacher shouted at the extra who immediately got pale as he looked at the teacher who was furiously looking at him.

"Would you like to share your conversation with the rest of the class?!"

"N...no Katsuki-sensei, and I am sorry! Please go on." The extra said nervously.

"No, no. Come on. Share with the rest of us, since what you got to say is more important than what I got to say up here!" Katsuki looked angry.

"I'm going to be quiet Katsuki-sensei! Please I am sorry!"

"Don't be quiet now! Say it! Say it in front of the whole class. Better yet, I'll hold an assembly." Katsuki spread his arms wide, "Say it in front of all the goddamn classes in this whole academy while Hokage-sama is present!"

Ken and Jiraiya became uncomfortable and got away from the extra immediately.

"P...please Katsuki-sensei! I beg you!"

"No, no, let's talk about it, Let's talk!" The teacher stepped closer, now looming over the extra.

The room went quiet as they all eagerly waited to see what will happen.

"You want to talk? Let's talk then, okay? Let's talk about how your parents got a divorce after your daddy got cracked by a ninja!"

"..."

"..."

"..." ×60

Everybody went dead silent after hearing that. All of them looking at the extra with mouths and eyes wide open.

"His daddy is gay!" Someone said softly but everybody heard it.

"Shut up!" Katsuki silenced.

"Do you wanna talk now little boy?" Katsuki asked the extra who had tears coming down his eyes and head lowered. Too ashamed to even look up.

"No."

"Then shut your ass up while I'm teaching my class!"

"..."

And just like that, no one dared to utter another syllable till the end of the class.

Meanwhile Garou was laughing on mute all the time as he pointed at the extra. Yuji, Ken, and the others all had dead fish eyes.

Some time after the class/

In a nearby garden close to the academy...

"Tsunade sure was worried sick about you." Ken suddenly said beside me with a smile.

"Yeah." I replied back as I remembered Tsunade clinging to me until moments ago with tears running down her face in worry. That made me pissed off at myself for worrying her this soon, even though it hasn't been that long in our relationship.

"Well, it's not an everyday occurrence where someone just changes this... drastically." Yuji said slowly with his eyes narrowed.

"Hmm, seriously! If a disease could do this to someone then I don't mind getting infected by it too. By the way! Can you please sneeze right up in my face, Garou?" Ken said with a light bulb on his head.

"Ah, just shut up, man." I replied tiredly, not bothering to even look at him.

"But can you blame us? I mean, just look at those unnatural bulging mouth watering muscles that could put every single man to shame." Ken said while looking at my body in jealousy.

"Don't involve me." Yuji said and backed away a little from Ken.

"Say no homo." I said as I stared at Ken suspiciously.

"No homo, of course. But I am jealous that all those girls in our class went into a trance the moment you entered. Just thinking about how easy it is to fuc–"

*Slap.*

Before he finished, I slapped his face. He was flushed and saliva ran down his mouth, and I was very sure he was thinking about some extremely unmanly things using my body as a reference.

"Eww!" Yuji lazily uttered.

"Umm, what's a fuck, Ramen-kun?" Satoshi asked Ken very innocently like a child, which made me and Yuji give Ken a glare.

"Ah... haha. It's something I will tell you later when you grow up more because it involves our fiancées. But don't utter that word again in front of them, okay?" Ken replied with a slap mark on his cheek while sweating bullets. Satoshi just nodded in understanding and then he materialised a chips bag out of thin air to eat from inside his ass

After that we just stayed silent and looked at the sky for a few moments, appreciating the nature in front of us.

"I am dropping out of the academy." I suddenly revealed to my buddies lying beside me on the ground while still looking at the blue sky filled with some clouds here and there.

"What?!" Ken immediately sat on his butt and asked in surprise.

"No food?" Satoshi said in a sad tone.

"Why?" Yuji just asked lazily even though he had an idea why. He knew about the business I was trying crack up.

"Well, these useless lessons waste a lot of my time where I could use that time for something better." I replied with a shrug.

"Something better like what?" Yuji asked.

"Like training." I replied back, which made them look at me in confusion until it clicked.

"What? Do you think these muscles just grow by themselves or fall from a tree?" I looked at them and asked weirdly, which made them nod in realization.

"Well, it's up to you if you leave or not. We will graduate a year and a half from now too and become genins. But from now on, I want you to visit that new restaurant they built near here to meet sometimes, or we will drag you out of your house ourselves if you don't." Ken said with a frown, and the other two nodded at what he said.

Maybe we weren't together for long but our bond was already very deep.

"Well, sure I guess." I replied back and looked at the sky again to appreciate nature.

One week Later/

"So what do you say?" I asked the Akimichi and Nara clan heads.

The Yamanaka clan head was busy so he didn't attend this meeting, but we don't need him here anyways for what I have in mind. And this won't be the last meeting.

We were now looking at the map of our compound.

I planned to use all the properties of my deceased clan members for a better purpose by turning all those houses into restaurants of Heaven's Feel and creating a new district specially made for my restaurant chain.

*Clap clap clap.*

"This is a great idea!" The Akimichi clan head said.

"Hmmmm, you sure about this?" The Nara clan head asked as he looked at me.

"You think it's not good?" I asked back as I looked at him.

"No, it's perfect actually. We don't need to buy those lands, and you are willing to give us full autonomy over the lands in exchange for a small rent which is not a big deal in the long run."

"Yes."

"Well, it's a win win situation. Because of this, now we don't need to go and ask Hokage's permission to buy stranger's properties and turn them into restaurants. And the headache of convincing land owners to sell or rent their lands is now no more."

"Another good point is that because of this, the restaurants won't be scattered and we can build a long district that can attract many nobles if we do a good job and turn the Hatake's district into something really good." The Nara explained with a hand on his chin.

"Yes, and I want our focus to be on building this district before trying to expand outward and create a very long chain of restaurants across the land of fire." I said and the Nara nodded.

"It will be difficult to expand beyond the territories of Konoha, but nothing to worry about. Since this business is led by you, and since you have become and are a member of the Global Merchant Association unlike us, I don't think the Damiyo and the local powers can create problems of expansion." The Nara said.

The Global Merchant Association. An organization that came to existence not too long ago to protect global trade, merchants, and businesses.

It's an organization that wants to preserve a healthy cycle of trade without disruption.

It got created by the Shogun, not long after Tobirama's death in the first world war to get an iron grip on global trade.

Even the Damiyos barely had control over the Association.

Anyone with a ninja headband is forbidden to be a member.

I became a member because I dropped out of the academy and didn't proceed to finish it. If I had finished the academy then it would have been impossible to join.

Being a member of the association had many benefits...

(A/N: will call the Global Merchant Association by GMA from now on. They are necessary for plot and lore. They also won't disrupt original canon so don't worry because as I said, if Garou didn't involve himself in anything then everything will go according to canon. This is just to fill in some historical gaps to the Naruto story.)

The Shogun created the GMA to strangle the ninja villages economically. And the Shogun has learned his lesson and didn't want to feel afraid even if another Tobirama came to be.

He doesn't need to win a bloody war anymore. He just needs to control who trades with whom.

If the GMA decides that Suna gets no merchants this year, then Suna starves. If they decide Kiri gets no weapons or raw resource shipments, then Kiri goes to shit.

The ninja villages think they are powerful because of their jutsus and their kages. But the Shogun has started playing a different game entirely. And he is winning actually.

And this makes my position strangely unique.

He is a future clan head. He is engaged to the granddaughter of the strongest ninja in history and Mito. He has ties to the current Hokage's disciples, and his father is the second Hokage's disciple, but he is also a member of an organization that exists to weaken people exactly like his own family.

The GMA badge that I have now is basically a get out of jail free card. If a ninja tries to fuck with me, I can flash that badge and suddenly it becomes a diplomatic incident.

No Chunin or Jonin wants to explain to the Hokage why they assaulted a protected merchant. I can walk around Konoha with total impunity because touching me means touching the GMA, and touching the GMA means touching the Shogun's wallet which is a great taboo and no joking matter at all.

Then the GMA gives him access to markets that ninjas can't simply reach.

The Nara, Akimichi and Yamanaka are smart, but they are still ninja clans and something the association doesn't have a liking to. They are limited by the association's restrictions, but I am not.

I can go to any capital city in the world, negotiate with the richest merchants, and open restaurants in cities where ninjas aren't even allowed to trade freely.

Also, the GMA protects his intellectual property. The GMA can blacklist anyone who tries to copy his recipes or open competing restaurants using stolen ideas. The association has the power to ruin entire merchant families and no one will risk stealing from him if it means losing their ability to trade.

For now, I don't have all that privileges completely, but soon will do so after my standing in the association elevates.

And then comes the Hatake district.

Turning the Hatake compound into a restaurant district, first creates a neutral zone. Ninjas can eat there, civilians, nobles, and merchants can eat there. It becomes a place where different factions can meet without the baggage of clan territories or village politics.

I will become the host.

And being supported by 3 big clans and Mito while my father being a disciple of the Second Hokage and a near Kage powerhouse creates trust and legitimacy.

He can even build an intelligence gathering network and sell information.

Then his favorite... it gives him leverage over the village council. If the Hokage wants something from him or threaten him, I can simply say, "That's interesting. By the way, I was thinking of moving my restaurants to the capital permanently instead. The Damiyo has been very welcoming." And It will only be considered as a very successful businessman considering his options, but everyone will understand what it means.

Right now, the Hatakes have practically lost power in the council and this move will put me on top in the shortest amount of time possible. The association will protect me even if something serious happened.

Soon, the Hatake won't be just a "dying clan." But one of the most popular.

Also, practically, I have become an outsider in this village. I only belong to this village because I was born here and own lands, nothing else.

I will be frowned upon by every clan from now on.

Everyone knew what the true intention of Shogun was when he created this association. And that was to isolate and control the ninjas even more.

In the past, many merchants would flock to these ninja villages to buy and sell stuff however they wished, but now they have to follow procedures and rules which will make these ninja villages desperate soon.

Also, the ninja missions...

Ninjas now only have some few ways remaining to get missions. One is depending on their territories and for the people living in these territories to assign and send them tasks to complete.

Or depend on merchants who are now controlled by the Shogun and can't assign missions to ninjas willy nilly just because they want to. Every mission assignment to ninjas must first be approved by the association before anything.

As a matter of fact, the association now heavily emphasises that merchants should assign Samurais to assist them instead of ninjas.

But there is a third party which are the ninjas' favorite.

The Nobles.

Almost all of the nobles have enemies they want to get rid of. Sooooo, they will hire those who can complete their sick games... the Ninjas!

And that brings up another thing...

In the Naruto world, ninjas have always been mercenaries and they take any mission that pays.

That includes illegal goods, protecting drug smugglers, assassinating rivals for crime lords, and even helping nobles cover up their shady dealings.

A ninja village and ninjas in general don't ask questions. They just look at the price tag and do the fuckery.

But GMA changed that.

Before the GMA... a crime lord in the Land of Fire or basically anywhere else could walk up to some ninjas, hand over a bag of money, and get a squad of chunin to protect his opium shipment.

No questions asked, the ninjas got paid, and the crime lord got his product moved. Everyone was happy except the people dying from the drugs.

And drugs is just a small example. Slavery and many sick stuff exist in this world.

The Shogun saw this and decided it was unacceptable. So he created the GMA to control trade, but also to strangle the illegal market.

The GMA requires all merchants to register their goods. If you are moving something, then you need paperwork. if you don't have paperwork, you are smuggling. And if you are smuggling, the GMA can seize your goods and blacklist you.

Or the GMA controls which mercenaries can be hired. Before... anyone could hire ninjas. Now, you need approval from the association. If you want to hire ninjas to protect a shipment, you have to prove the shipment is legal. If you can't, then the association denies your request.

And, the GMA works with the Samurai to enforce these rules.

The Shogun's Samurai patrol the major trade routes. If they catch unregistered merchants or unapproved ninja escorts, they will seize everything immediately then the ninjas get sent back to their villages with a warning, and the merchants will go to jail.

But the GMA cannot stop everything of course.

There are still criminals who find ways to move drugs and illegal goods and they just have to be smarter about it. They can hire rogue ninjas, they can bribe samurais or they can use hidden routes that the GMA doesn't watch.

And GMA knows this, but their goal is not to eliminate illegal trade completely because that is simply impossible. Their goal is to control it to an acceptable degree and to make sure it happens on their terms and to make sure the Shogun gets his cut.

And also, to make sure the ninja villages don't get too powerful from the profits.

Personally, I will have to deal with so much shit.

Criminals and powerful people might try and demand to use his business to launder money or move illegal stuff. Even Hiruzen might pressure him to smuggle or the GMA might try to use him as a pawn if they knew he was useful.

He had to be decisive and know when to say No if necessary.

And that brings about the problem of conflicts.

Hiruzen could create many problems for me if my influence spread and I became a threat to his control.

Hiruzen could push through new laws targeting merchant businesses in Konoha. He could argue that since my restaurants are built on former Hatake land which is still inside the village borders, they should be subject to ninja village taxes and ninja regulations.

Or by spreading bad rumours on everything I do.

Or he could argue that I dropped out of the academy, and that I am not a ninja and I cannot represent a ninja clan in the village council.

But thankfully, Hiruzen is planning to do a dumbfuckery soon, which is creating the civilian council to appease the Damiyo, and I can just join that council as a prominent figure and have power if in case he didn't recognise me as a ninja clan head.

Hiruzen might even preach some fuckass will of bullshit to me so I could go to his side. Simply put, manipulate me.

As for how Danzo will create problems for me?

The fucker doesn't care at all. He will instantly go nuclear on any threat he sees. He will send Root agents to kill me.

Or if I wasn't an option, then he will target my family or friends.

Ken, Yuji, Satoshi... He could have them killed or kidnapped on missions which will make me snap and Danzo could use that as an excuse to eliminate me as a threat to village stability.

Or even more annoying, sabotaging my business.

Poisoning the foods would be my least of worries.

But before all that, Danzo will go for the usual cliche route... recruiting him, which won't succeed of course.

.

And last but not least, which is the most important... Hiruzen is Tsunade's sensei and he could try to pull her away from me by assigning her more missions, longer missions, or missions far from the village. He could also try to convince her that I am poisoning her ninja way and mind. He could play the concerned mentor card or some bullshit like that.

But God, I swear only you know how I will go nuts on this village if anything... ANYTHING happens to Tsunade!

.

Anyways, enough politics.

Later, maybe I will go and see if I can hire Dai and Teuchi to work for me permanently.

Both are one of the few who are genuinely good people. They deserve at least a better life.

And it's time for them to marry also, so having more honest money can help them out a lot.

Can't be a bad friend now.

.

Since the last time I have seen the Akimichi, and the Nara clan heads, most of the Akimichi clan and some Naras had been busy training many chefs and workers from their own people and normal civilians too. Then the Yamanaka have been putting seals on them to not disclose the secrets of those recipes I shared with them, which I appreciated.

Now with these vacant lands, it would become easy to create something very special that would catch everyone's attention in Konoha and outside.

After this contract, it would not be long for the grand opening of Heaven's Feel to the public officially.

We have already started to advertise everywhere in Konoha and opened up some temporary shops in some places, which made some people immediately become regulars and advertise for us later indirectly by spreading it mouth to mouth... How lewd.

Now comes the annoying part... telling Gintoki what I just did.

The End.
