"That's strange, why hasn't Sasuke-kun come to school today? Did he oversleep and end up late?"
"Shouldn't that kind of thing happen to Naruto instead?"
Sasuke's fangirls noticed that class was about to start, but his seat remained empty.
Someone worried that Sasuke might have overslept, but the conversation quickly took a different turn.
After all, Sasuke was rarely late. On the other hand, Naruto—who was unpopular with the girls and loved picking fights with Sasuke—was the one who frequently showed up late.
"Damn it! Why drag me into this when you're talking about Sasuke?!"
Naruto, who had been lazily sprawled over his desk, immediately roared in anger upon hearing this.
"Look, look! Naruto's throwing a tantrum again."
"Yeah, yeah, that's just how he is. So crude, nothing like Sasuke-kun—so cool and handsome."
"..."
Who the hell did I even offend?
Naruto felt like he was about to cough up blood in frustration.
When Sasuke came to school, he was annoyed.
Because the girls he liked always flocked around Sasuke—even the ones he didn't like orbited around him as if Sasuke was the only person in the world.
Sometimes, Naruto wished Sasuke would just disappear from their class.
But today, Sasuke seemed to be late, and somehow, that made Naruto even more irritated.
Because now, all the girls in class were putting him down to praise Sasuke.
Even Sakura, the girl he liked, glared at him with disdain.
Ever since that incident where he picked a fight with Sasuke, Sakura had been furious with him.
She could handle being rejected by Sasuke, but she couldn't stand Naruto provoking him—let alone giving Sasuke a black eye.
As for Naruto, who was also left bruised and battered? He was completely ignored.
Being a simp was hard. Sakura suffered as Sasuke's admirer, but Naruto wasn't any better off.
Worst of all, there was no Hinata waiting quietly for him anymore.
Now, Hinata already had someone else.
Unlike before, when she was withdrawn, timid, and insecure, Hinata had become much more cheerful.
At this moment, she was sitting at her desk, watching her classmates fool around.
Over the past few years, Hinata—who had always been a beauty in the making—had truly blossomed.
Knowing that Kazuki liked girls with long hair, she had grown hers out, becoming the elegant "black-haired, straight-haired" beauty he adored.
"The teacher's coming!!"
Someone shouted, and the noisy classroom quickly fell silent.
Shortly after, heavy footsteps—much louder than those of an average child—echoed from the hallway.
A familiar figure appeared at the classroom door, stepped inside, glanced at the well-behaved students, and nodded in satisfaction.
"Today, we'll continue with yesterday's lesson—"
"Sensei! Why isn't Sasuke here today?"
Ino, who was far more outgoing and bold than Sakura, couldn't help but raise her hand.
"Oh, Sasuke?"
The teacher, unbothered by the interruption, smiled and explained:
"Earlier today, someone from the Uchiha clan came to the school to inform us. Sasuke has been taken under the care of their elder—our Hokage's advisor, Lord Kazuki—and has been entrusted to Lord Orochimaru as his disciple. For the foreseeable future, Sasuke won't be attending classes. Instead, he'll be training under Lord Orochimaru. He'll only return to take exams."
"Now, let's begin the lesson."
"WHAAAT?! NO WAY!!!"
"Sasuke's not coming to school anymore?!"
"Waaaah—!!"
The entire class erupted in wails of despair, with Sakura and Ino being the most dramatic.
The two girls immediately went into meltdown mode—especially Sakura, whose reaction was downright exaggerated.
"Quiet! QUIET!! What kind of behavior is this?! Sit down properly and prepare for class!!"
The teacher slammed his hand on the desk, intimidating the wailing students into submission.
Once order was restored, the lesson finally began.
At first, Naruto was thrilled.
But soon, he realized something was off.
Sasuke's become Orochimaru's disciple? He won't be coming to school anymore—just showing up for exams?
Doesn't that mean he's getting special training?
Once Sasuke finished his training, his strength would skyrocket. And then…
A bad feeling settled in Naruto's gut.
He had a feeling that the next time he faced Sasuke, he'd get destroyed.
The mental image of Sasuke pounding him into the ground made Naruto break out in a cold sweat.
He couldn't sit still, fidgeting in his seat for the rest of class.
The moment the bell rang, he bolted—not caring if skipping class would get him in trouble—and sprinted straight for the Hokage's office.
"Move! MOVE!! I need to see Granny Tsunade!!"
"I need to see Granny Tsunade!!!"
Naruto dashed through the halls, charging up to the second floor of the Hokage's building—only to be immediately stopped by ANBU guards.
Refusing to back down, he started yelling at the top of his lungs.
Before Jiraiya left, he'd told Naruto that if he ever had any problems, he should go to Tsunade. And if that didn't work, he could try Kazuki.
In the letters Jiraiya sent afterward, he'd repeated the same thing.
Basically: If you're stuck, go bother Tsunade.
"..."
Damn brat!!
Hearing the commotion outside, Tsunade's forehead vein bulged in irritation. She slammed her fist on the desk and growled:
"Ugh! Since when am I that old? Who's his granny?!"
Shizune blinked in surprise.
"Since when does the Hokage care about titles like that?"
"Ahem!!"
Tsunade shot her a glare.
Obviously! Back when I was single, I didn't care if he called me 'Granny.' But now?
It makes me sound ancient!
The thought of the age gap between her and Kazuki only made her more annoyed.
"Bring that brat in here."
"Yes, ma'am."
Confused by Tsunade's sudden sensitivity, Shizune could only obey and fetch Naruto.
"Granny Tsunade! I need special training too! I can't let Sasuke surpass me—I demand special training!!!"
The moment those words left Naruto's mouth, Tsunade—who had been sitting calmly—suddenly snapped. She leaped up and smacked him over the head.
"BRAT! Call me 'Granny' one more time, and I'll pound you into the ground! It's 'Hokage-sama' to you! And as for Sasuke becoming Orochimaru's disciple—how Orochimaru trains him is none of your business! Why are you even here?!"
"Ow! That hurts!"
Naruto clutched his head, completely bewildered.
I've been calling you 'Granny' for years! Why are you only bringing this up now?!
Whatever. She was the Hokage—and her fists were bigger. He'd humor her.
Crossing his arms, Naruto huffed.
"I don't care! I need special training! Before Ero-sennin left, he said I should come to you if I had any problems—and that you'd help me!"
Seeing Tsunade's glare intensify, Naruto quickly corrected himself.
"Ahem—I mean, Hokage-sama."
"This damn kid… That damn Jiraiya…"
Tsunade massaged her temples, already feeling a headache coming on.
