"Was it your Hidden Mist Village that did this?"
Obito's gaze, brimming with hatred, slowly shifted to Yagura.
Kakashi turned his head in shock.
He had always blamed himself for Rin's death, believing he was the one who killed her. But now, he learned there was more to the story.
If the Hidden Mist Village had indeed controlled Rin, sealed the Three-Tails inside her, and forced her to return to the village as a weapon to deliver a fatal blow…
Then the Hidden Mist Village… truly deserved annihilation!
"Before the Allied Forces even officially disbanded, you were already scheming against our village?"
Yagura gave Kazuki a deep look, then faced the mixed reactions of the crowd and spoke solemnly,
"Everyone, I believe you are all aware that during the reign of the Third Mizukage, many inexplicable events occurred in the Hidden Mist Village—including the infamous 'Bloody Mist' era that other villages love to gossip about. I won't deny that I, Yagura, benefited from the Bloody Mist era. At that time, I eliminated many fellow ninja under the Third Mizukage's orders. But later, I discovered that the Third Mizukage was being controlled. A shadowy hand was manipulating him, dragging the village into the abyss."
Damn it!!!
Hidden in the shadows, Black Zetsu was nearly cursing aloud. He never imagined these events would be dredged up one day.
Of course, the Third Mizukage had been controlled—by none other than Uchiha Madara.
Otherwise, why would they have gone out of their way to capture Nohara Rin after the war and seal the Three-Tails inside her?
Everything had been done to push Obito into darkness.
The mastermind behind it all was Uchiha Madara.
And Black Zetsu himself had played no small part in it.
He had assumed that once the Third Mizukage was overthrown, the matter would end there.
Who knew it would resurface now?
At this moment, Black Zetsu wished he could leap out and tear Kazuki to pieces.
What the hell are you doing?!
If you figured out Obito's identity, fine—but why dig up all this?
"Mizukage, are you serious?"
A felt this was absurd.
The esteemed Third Mizukage had been controlled, leading to all those bizarre actions by the Hidden Mist?
Yagura countered, "If you, the Raikage, were in your right mind, would you impose a 'Bloody Mist' rule on your village?"
"..."
Go to hell! Only you freaks in the Hidden Mist would do something like that!
A wanted to curse, but Yagura's retort was valid. Who in their right mind would torment their own village like that?
The Third Mizukage had been a seasoned leader. Under his rule, the Hidden Mist had thrived—until his later years, when things took a dark turn.
Clearly, there were many secrets buried here.
A fell silent, and Yagura continued:
"After discovering the Third Mizukage was being controlled, I united the village's clans and powerful shinobi to overthrow him, ending the era of the Bloody Mist. During the time the Third Mizukage was manipulated, many of the village's missions were kept secret—even from me. However, the Three-Tails was indeed taken from the village. What happened afterward is well-known: the Three-Tails died alongside its jinchūriki. After its revival, I, Yagura, captured and sealed it within myself."
"You… deserve to die!!!"
Obito refused to accept Yagura's explanation.
Though he resented Kakashi for killing Rin with his own hands, he hated the Hidden Mist Village even more for orchestrating it all.
These so-called explanations were nothing but lies. It was all your fault!!!
"Kakashi… you've disappointed me."
No one expected that, in the next moment, Obito—who had just been glaring at Yagura with venom—would suddenly charge at Kakashi, reaching for the eye hidden beneath his forehead protector.
Kill Kakashi?
Obito couldn't bring himself to do it. Nor could he rely on Kakashi to avenge Rin.
If that was the case, then he would have to do it himself.
With his current strength, taking on the entire Hidden Mist Village was impossible.
Retrieving his Sharingan was the first step.
A complete Mangekyō Sharingan would elevate his power to an entirely new level.
As Obito lunged, Kakashi immediately dodged.
"You won't succeed!!!"
The Five Kage rushed forward, with the Raikage being the fastest.
They all knew that if Obito regained both eyes, his strength would become even more terrifying.
There was no way they would let him succeed.
"You're underestimating me, Uchiha Obito."
Facing the Five Kage's assault, Obito remained calm. He was confident he could escape before being surrounded.
But first, he needed to reclaim his Sharingan.
Danger!
Just as his fingers were about to touch Kakashi's face, a sudden sense of foreboding gripped him.
Instinct screamed at him to flee—immediately—or face fatal consequences.
Weighing his options, Obito had no choice but to withdraw, slipping into Kamui's dimension.
"Uchiha Kazuki!!!"
When Obito reappeared elsewhere, Kakashi was already standing beside Kazuki.
The source of the danger?
Kazuki's activated Mangekyō Sharingan.
Facing Obito's furious roar, Kazuki merely shrugged innocently:
"Though I sympathize with you, I can't let you harm Kakashi—nor will I stand by as you take back the other Sharingan. Perhaps you'd like to test whether my Mangekyō's abilities can counter your Kamui?"
'Should we activate the seal?'
In the crowd, Shikaku signaled Kazuki with his eyes.
Kazuki shook his head slightly. 'No need. It's useless.'
"Damn it!!!"
The Raikage cursed loudly after his attack met empty air.
Kamui was just that unfair—letting you see but never touch.
"I'll be back for you."
With one last deep glance at Kakashi, Obito vanished into Kamui without hesitation.
He didn't dare gamble.
He feared Kazuki's Mangekyō abilities might counter his own.
Kamui was powerful and elusive—but not invincible.
That sense of danger was proof enough.
Kazuki's Mangekyō was a threat.
Until he knew more, Obito wouldn't act recklessly.
While Obito retreated cautiously, the Five Kage could only watch helplessly as he escaped.
Obito's vigilance was too sharp—the moment he sensed danger, he fled, leaving no chance for the Allied Forces to trap him.
But Kazuki had never expected simple preparations to capture Obito.
Kamui was as troublesome as the Flying Thunder God.
"So we just wasted all this effort? All our preparations were for nothing?"
"Only the Raikage thinks it was a waste. For me, it was worth it."
Kazuki couldn't be bothered to deal with A's outburst.
For him and Konoha, confirming Obito's identity alone was worth everything.
Besides, Konoha hadn't expended much—just some time.
And they'd even managed to smear the Hidden Mist's reputation, ensuring Obito would give them hell.
